I came here for their opening night auction. Â It was really fun to see so many people bidding for tattoos based on the quality of the work of the artists. Â I can tell some people were really excited that they won multiple sessions with the same artist for a huge discount. Â One guy won something like three auctions totaling over 4 hours with an artist that he was a big fan of. Â I think he spent around $300 and was totally psyched so I'm guessing that was a good price. Â I guess the auction was a good deal for those who were in the know.
Because I'm not personally into body art, I'm basing my review on the attitude, hospitality and overall vibe of the staff and customers at their opening night event. Â They advertise that they do piercings and permanent makeup as well. Â
There were a lot of apprentices at the event. Â I guess they have a guild-styled apprenticeship program for aspiring body-artists. Â No clue how the training part works but the people I met all came from really diverse educational and ethnic backgrounds. Â One guy was totally into Indian motifs which I found out of the ordinary for a tattoo parlor. Â The apprentices workout their skills on oranges which are displayed around the shop. Â If I was going to bite the bullet and get a tattoo I think I'd like to see it on an orange first! Â
It's off the beaten path so if you make the trek make sure to check out the neighborhood. Â There are tons of small businesses out here that are not documented on yelp. Â We need more Yelpers out here to populate the map and write reviews!
