I'm two years on, and I still have both tattoo enthusiasts and non-inked folks stop me on the street to look at my Japanese half-sleeve. Â In fact, I've had more than one random person pull my shirt sleeve up at a bar so that they can see the whole thing! Â Matt's work looks even better now that its had a couple years to settle in, and I'm still in love with the art. Â The color looks great, the lines are sharp and crisp, and it's probably going to be a full sleeve soon.
Review Source:Got my most recent work done here and I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. So happy I decided to check out Only You and wait so that Danielle could give me my favorite tattoo (so far). Initially I was a bit frustrated that I would have to wait so long for my appointment, but I can't hate...they got it like that at Only You.
Everyone I had an interaction with at this spot was cool too. And how lucky for me that I got a call asking if I wanted to reschedule my tattoo a week earlier than my original date.
Danielle's pretty awesome. She did the work on my arm. I came to her with a sketch that a friend drew up for me, and we talked and decided to change it a bit. When I got to my appointment I was met with a beautiful edit to the original sketch. Thanks again Danielle and Only You.
Better believe I'll be back, if I'm in Atlanta for my next ink needs!
Awesome! I just got my third tattoo here and I must say I was impressed. My tattoo is a single word on my wrist.
I called Only You earlier this afternoon to ask if they had anytime for a walk-in today, I was told to come in around three which fit my schedule perfectly.
The place is very clean. The artwork inside is beautiful.
Charles wrote out the text twice and the second time was perfect. He sat me down and I was in and out in a total of thirty minutes.
He was very polite, the whole staff was. From the moment I walked in I knew I'd have a pleasant experience there.
Looking at it now, it's like he read my mind. It's even better than I imagined it :) .
Cost me $60 flat.
I would definitely go back again.
We decided that when we were coming to Atlanta for a vacation there was going to be some tattooing done at some point during the trip and I found this place on yelp. The reviews were all good and pretty consistent and I am very glad I came here. All the artists were super nice and very professional. It's really clean, very affordable, and surprisingly gentle considering you have a needle stabbing you continuously :/
I would definitely recommend!!! I love my Tattoo :)
I loved this place. This was the first time I was getting a tattoo so I literally looked for the place with the best reviews and I found this one. I made a reservation with Charles on a Saturday afternoon. I was really nervous about this experience but he made me feel comfortable right away. He made sure I was ok with the design and he also made sure I was comfortable during the process. Now, three weeks away from the process I love how it looks! Yes, it was painful but nothing out of the ordinary, If I ever get another one I will go back to this place and I highly recommended to however wants to get a tattoo.
Review Source:The best tattoo shop in Atlanta. I have been tattooed by Charles Chatov several times, he is always very professional and easygoing. Matt and Danielle are also masters of their craft and offer absolute professionalism as well as deliver pieces of artwork to cherish for a lifetime. Excellent energy and service.
Review Source:Matt did my tattoo and did an amazing job. I am a graphic designer/artist and came in with a concept for my tattoo and we discussed different options. I wanted to give Matt some creative room to do what he felt led and it turned out beautifully.
All over Atlanta people stop me and ask me where I got my tattoo done because it's "so beautiful and well done" or "amazing work and wonderfully colored." My husband just went to get one from Matt as well and we are both extremely happy with his work. I've had friends get tattooed by other people in the shop and everyone has nothing but great things to say!
I'll have to say that I did some research before getting my first tattoo, and Only You is the best. Â I called ahead and made an appointment to see Matt, and when I got there everything was ready to go. Â Matt was extremely nice, professional, and actually convinced me to change the location of the tattoo (which he was 100% correct). Â It was a simple signature tattoo, and I'm thrilled with the fine detail and execution. Â I will definitely go back there for my next tattoo, and I would recommend this shop to anyone.
Review Source:I admire Danielle & the energy & cleanliness of her shop... of course she'z a hell of an artist; that's why I bought tat gift certificatez- Solstice giftz for My peepz!
One cool thing OYT doez every Friday the 13th, (as many as there are in a given year); $13 tat + $7 min. tip for a small piece ~ chosen from a sheet of flash art 13'z!
That's how I ended up with a cupcake topped with the #13!
I graduated from art school, but sadly am really only capable of drawing stick figures and lollipop trees. Something always gets lost on the way from my brain to my hand...proportions, shadows, depth- I know that they're there but I can never seem to get them down on paper. This disability of sorts caused some problems when I started to design my first tattoo.
When I walked into Only You I was clutching a crumpled sheet of paper that had a sketchy outline comprised of bits and pieces of images that I had stuck together with Photoshop. I wasn't sure if it would work as a tattoo and it was black and white and just real rough looking.
Danielle took the print out and in a few minutes she had a sketch that looked exactly like the tattoo that was in my head. She told me what would work and what wouldn't and suggested color choices. She was pretty booked up and my schedule wasn't very flexible but she managed to fit me in for an appointment about a week later. The tattoo I wanted was kind of large with quite a bit of detail. She worked it out so that I could break it up into two sittings, a 1 1/2 hour sitting for the outline and another 1 1/2 hour sitting for the color. This was awesome because I'm not big on pain and am usually kind of broke and it helped my budget to break up the cost.
I was afraid it would be awkward because I'm not big on touched by strangers (unless I'm wasted) and I had to go topless in front of strangers etc... but I felt as comfortable as a stripper at the Clermont. I have a low tolerance for pain so I brought my Ipod to take my mind off it while she worked. If Danielle minded she didn't say anything and it really helped out. I listened to Bon Iver and and felt pretty chill. I think I almost fell asleep at one point. Danielle worked fast and was really efficient.
My tattoo came out really well and people comment on it all the time. I was in the doctors office and a really really old woman stopped me and said that she usually hated tattoos but that mine made her wish she had gotten one.
I would recommend Only You Tattoo to anyone. Danielle Distefano is awesome and I've looked at the portfolios of the other artists and they seem great too.
I have been getting tattooed by Danielle for the last nine years and recently made a trip down to ATL to get a rather large piece started. This is the first time I got to see Only You Tattoo. The shop is so big, clean, sterile and filled with artwork by all sorts of amazing artists. Â It is in a really cool location and there are some very talented tattoo artists working there. There was a lot of people coming in and out looking at the portfolios, making appointments and seemed pretty stoked to be there. It made my experience feel all the more welcoming and comfortable but most of all my tattoo looks FAB!
Review Source:oh, how i love me some danielle!
she did my first "real" tattoo
(i got a tiny lilith fairesque sun on my hip while in college. doesn't really count)
i won a gc to her old shop from a raffle at the first <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.atlantarollergirls.com&s=7c02d6fdf6df201a56253496023e6c8cbfc6035195a1aaecb9afa76963bf13ac" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.atlantaroller…</a> bout i attended.
i came armed with a sort of design i had in mind and she made it happen even better than i could have imagined.
since then she has inked me 4 more times.
i've also brought in at least 5 friends to get inked by her. everyone has been more than thrilled with the results.
i'm currently planning my largest (a full back piece) tattoo, and from the moment i spoke with her about it her eyes lit up and she had all kinds of suggestions.
i'm now just waiting to save money and work up the courage- this is gonna be big, and thus hurt like a mofo- to make it a reality.
not only is danielle a great artist, she's a great person.
i am honored to carry her work on my skin.
It seems like every tattoo I have commented on in the past year has been done by Danielle. So when I finally decided what I wanted, I knew where I wanted to go.
The tattoo turned out so awesome. And this would definitely be a five-starer, but like one of the individuals below, there was some sort of scheduling confusion. I wrote down 6:30 (right after I get off work) and she wrote down 8. So I had an hour and a half to kill. Wasn't the end of the world, but definitely frustrating because I was sooo excited.
In the end, totally worth the wait. Actually it makes my other tattoos look like they were drawn by children. But now I know where to get all the rest. :)
ONLY YOU is a great tattoo shop, and I highly recommend them.
On Monday, I went to get my very 1st tattoo by Charles. He concepted an original memorial tattoo for me to honor my great mom who passed away a year ago. To honor her memory, I decided to get the tattoo on the 1st anniversay of her death--Feb. 15th. Prior to starting the tattoo, Charles made the necessary tweaks to the drawing for an hour prior to starting the tattoo which took 3 hours. My tattoo is MAGNIFICENT and Charles does beautiful work!!! Charles was courteous, friendly, and has a gentle hand. This was my first tattoo, and I survived it, and LOVE the results and the entire experience.
There's no question that if I get a hankering to get another tattoo that I'll be going back to Charles at ONLY YOU.
I have wanted to get another tattoo for a while and for the longest time, I think about it, then get sided tracked. And then repeat. So, this went on for years.
And then, through twitter, a friend posted something about OYT and I finally decided to get motivated to get this done.
I went to the website and sent an email and quickly got a response back from Matt. We scheduled some time to talk about what I wanted.
Matt was great, we talked through what I envisioned and set a date.
I could not be happier with the service; the shop is clean and professional.
The only compliant, if you can call it that, is that parking is entertaining. There are not many spaces up front. So at night, you may have to park around the corner. This isn't OYT's fault, but it is kind of a pain (especially with all the rain in Atlanta nowadays).
Just had a tattoo done at Only You Tattoo and the experience was perfect!  The shop is clean, bright and open and you instantly feel comfortable when you walk in.  This was my first tattoo and I did not feel intimidated at all.  The staff is so friendly and welcoming.  I went hoping to have Danielle do my tattoo after other reviews I had read on here but she was out of town so Matt took care of my tattoo and he did an amazing job!  He was friendly, kind and the finished product was exactly what I wanted!  After my great experience, my husband made an appointment to go back  and get his first tattoo.
Review Source:I was a walk-in about 1.5 hours before close on Saturday, and was welcomed right in- not sure if many other shops could be so cheerful towards a last-minute walk in. Charles Chatov did a small piece on my wrist and did a stellar job. At first I felt a little silly for getting such a small tatt done (a few lines of text), Charles really seemed to take an interest in what it was about. He was extremely professional, but also very friendly.
As I was leaving, I got a chance to talk to Danielle and I will say that between Charles and Danielle, this is one of the nicest shop staffs I've ever met. I don't feel intimidated whatsoever for not being covered in tatts and am very appreciative of their welcoming manners. I cannot wait to set up an appointment with Danielle.
I had a pretty bad early 90's rose band with flames. Â I used to keep it covered at all times. Â I stopped by Only You to see if they could gie me some ideas. Â Matt Greenhalgh gave some encouragement that I could cover it but I really didnt take it very serously. Â I started to research lots of tattoo artists in Atlanta and kept coming back to Matt's portfolio. Â OMG - he is rockin' it out. Â I am proud to be in tank tops again!!! Â It is absolutely BEAUTFUL - the compliments keep coming. Â I've had friends going to Matt, Danielle, and Chuck - all tattoos were incredible and exceeded all expectations!!!
Review Source:I've gotten several tattoos done here by Danielle, and I will never get a tattoo anywhere else again.
In addition to being in an extremely cool (and clean) space, all the artists are very good at what they do and cover a wide range of styles. Since I've only gotten work done by Danielle, I can't vouch for the other artists, but she has got the lightest touch of any artist out there and is smokin' hot. Seriously, I have a lady crush on her. She's tattooed both sides of my ribs and they have been by far the easiest to sit for.
I'd send anyone to Only You over any other studio in town.
After many phone calls, trips to visit other tattoo shops and artists, and even discussions with clients of other shops, I was becoming very frustrated in trying to find an artist who would listen when I presented my wishes for a tattoo, and who would be willing to create a portfolio piece - one that the artist would be particularly proud of and would want to show off.
My wife and I were recommended to Danielle Distefano by a friend who has had several pieces done by her. Â Since I had been looking for quite some time, I was pleased to discover that Danielle is very talented from a design and inking perspective, but more than that, she has a great manner and personality. Â I had a theme that I wanted to get across, but very few ideas of actual design.
Danielle is FABULOUS. Â I can't speak more highly of her professionalism and creativity in coming up with my design. Â I had my final sitting this afternoon and am so happy with the results. Â I will continue to recommend Danielle, Matt, and Chuck as I have done many times in person. Â Their work speaks for itself, but their personalities and bedside manner makes all the difference.
If you want some ink done, I would HIGHLY recommend that you visit Only You Tattoo.
This is a very pleasant atmosphere. Great conversation, fun laid back place to get a tattoo especially if you're a newbie, like some of us. There's no pressure. You don't feel instantly intimidated by the atmosphere. Very welcoming. It's just easy breezy wonderful. I felt certainly at ease. Plus, they asked me how I heard about them...which I thought was a nice change from my other experience.
However, this is my observation after having visited several tattooists, (working off a recent tattoo addiction, I apologize) which also applies to this place.
Think outside the box. If I present you with a blueprint of a design, don't give me the literal translation of that blueprint, give me the "mother-effing awesome version of my blueprint." Be creative, push envelopes with color, shape, size, shadows, and it's translation onto the stated body part. Make it translate onto an awesome piece, so everyone that sees it would definitely ask, "so where did you get this?" That makes all the difference.
It's no secret that I'm a body mod addict. I'm also a savvy shopper. Not just anyone gets to work on this gal. After seeing all the glowing reviews for Danielle Distefano when she worked at 13 Roses and getting a look at her portfolio, I knew I wanted to work with her. Now that she had her own shop in Grant Park, I figured the time was right. My expectations were met and more.
I called in advance to schedule an appointment and explain my idea. She was very helpful and up front about pricing and time commitment. When the predetermined date rolled around (today), I showed up a bit early, but it didn't phase anyone. We tinkered with the design a bit until we were both happy and got to work. I was getting the tattoo toward the lower part of my sternum near my diaphragm. I never fear the pain of a tattoo, but I prepare myself for a certain level of discomfort depending on the placement. It wasn't nearly as bad as I psyched myself up for. Danielle has an light touch, rock solid skills, and a bedside manner that some doctors could learn from. Chuck and Matt, the other artists, were also very friendly and their work looks solid.
My friend got tattooed after I did and agreed with me about the overall experience. Danielle was also so generous as to let us bounce ideas for other tattoos off her. I would whole heartedly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a good tattoo and great service.
