My son has a completed, full sleeve done by Craig Young at Pleasure Point Tattoo. He is extremely happy with how it turned how and the artistry that Craig put into it. He sat down with my son and they collaborated on the design. Craig had to incorporate some smaller, previous tats so it wasn't the easiest design to do. But the design he came up with was awesome.

When I've been to the shop, I can say that everyone I met was pleasant and welcoming. It was clean but funky, in an only in Santa Cruz kind of way. Case in point, there are surfboards hanging from the ceiling. Probably just waiting for a good swell. Each artist has their own tattoo area, decorated in their personal style which makes for some great art.

I like that there is a bright, sitting area up front with some designs that you can look through for inspiration.  I've been in other shops in SC that weren't properly lit so it was hard to see the colors and details well. One other plus is that they have a great parking area right in front of the shop. No paying to park and walking blocks to get a tattoo.

This year I am getting a small tattoo done and I'm definitely coming to Pleasure Point Tattoo to get it.

I got a rather small simple tat done here a few years ago. It was among my first bits to get done, and the guy that inked me didn't bother to explain that the details in my design would blur after time. He also went too deep and 4 years later my design is dire need of a clean-up. The details are lost, and the ink bled out so it looks like it's done in sharpie.

With that said, my mom went here to get a sleeve done, and it looks great! I think the gal who did it was Jennifer, not sure on the name or if she's even still there. My mom's arm piece looks superb five years later; the details, shading etc are excellent and the color is still sharp. My mom's pretty picky, and the gal that helped her out was extremely patient and had a lot of great ideas to add to the piece.

I'm pretty annoyed with my experience, but my mom had a great one, so I'll rate this place with 3 stars for now.

Note: I simply can't bring myself to rate five stars to any service that hurts like hell and burns for a week afterwards.

I take my artwork very seriously. I've been working on a project now for nearly a decade. My specialized needs required me to shop around, both in town and over the hill. I finally found my guru at Pleasure Point, an artist by the name of Craig Young.

Thus far, I've spent roughly 100 hours in his chair and expect to sit for another 50 or so. His enthusiasm and professionalism make him a pleasure to work with. He's an artist at heart who obviously loves his job and lacks the pretense and attitude one frequently encounters in the industry. He particularly shines in his larger-scale custom work and has a great deal of portrait experience, partially thanks to yours truly. My project has also involved a couple of cover-ups, which he has performed masterfully.

My advice to you is to go in knowing what you want, talk with him about it, and give him time to draw it out. Your patience will be rewarded.
