I went here today to have my nose pierced and I was super nervous, but had done my research and this shop consistently came up as one of the best in the area. Howard did my piercing and he was so sweet and laid-back, making sure that I was comfortable with the placement of the piercing and helping me to relax. It was all over in no time at all and I am really happy with the way my piercing looks. The shop was clean, quiet and friendly, and I will definitely be back!!

Howard was amazing! My husband got a lion tattoo and it was nothing like I have ever seen before.
I have been to so many tattoo shops and many tattoo artists just create plain art, but Howard's work was extremely detailed.
Not to mention that he is quite the artist on paper as well.
He has great prices and delivered above and beyond.
I will be coming back to get my own tattoo and my husband is going back to get an old tattoo fixed, that was done by a different shop.

My friend & I found this place on yelp so we decided to go and have her nose pierced which was only $40! The guy working there was SO nice and everything was very quick and simple. He did a very clean job & even took the time to explain what you can do to avoid infection and what not. The piercing looked great ! I highly recommend this place for everyone :)
Review Source:OK, Its my birthday, and me and the soon to be Mrs. wanted each others names on us. Drove down ventura blvd. and stopped in 2 places and were turned off by both shops. Walked in here, met Howard and felt this was the place, and It was !!! Â He does great work at a fair price. He will listen to what you want and give suggestions if you need. He just finished doing restoration work on a previous tattoo I had on my back and made it look complete and as one! Review Source:I met Howard Teman many years ago and always knew he was an artist. I still have a poster he gave me back in 96 called Sirens of the Silent Screen which is awesome. He has all his posters on the walls of his shop. A client of mine got a tattoo from him and it was so detailed it was crazy. I was so happy to hear he had a shop in studio city, so when I was ready to get a tat I knew I would go to Howard. It had been many years since my last one. I left him a message to see if he could fit me in and he called back right away and I came in on christmas eve! I had an idea of what I wanted and Howard made my idea a reality.I could not be more happy about this tattoo. He was patient and cool and made me very comfortable. He even made me a cup of coffee! His shop is clean and very zen.Not cheap but not over the top like so many LA tattoo artists out there. You can really feel that he loves his work and I would NEVER go to anyone else. If your looking for a true artist and not just some shop with a famous name attached to it go to Howard Teman. Oh... and it never hurt or itched after.

What makes Howard great is his ability to translate your vision into a reality, if you want something specific then he'll give you exactly that but when you let him give his own creative suggestions and ideas a try he always delivers something better then anything you could have anticipated. His prices aren't cheap but fair. Quality is worth paying for, and I'm happy to pay every penny for his work. If you want the absolute best for a fair price this is the place to come to.

Review Source:Howard is the man behind my "da mihi basia millie, mea ......" side of the foot tattoo and I LOVE it!!!! Sure, perhaps I could have left my sons dads name off of the end, but hey - that's life! Everyone seems to love this tattoo of mine and they always ask what it says. I tell them it says "kiss me with a million kisses" and I stop right there and never let them get close enough to see whose name is after "my" mea :) Although I am proud of every inch of it. I walked into the shop Howard was at prior to this one here in Studio City (several years ago) and he was very helpful and gave me exactly what I wanted. I've been happy with it since day 1. Now that I'm ready to be selfish and stop donating blood for 12 months, it's time I pay him another visit for my 6th tattoo - a side piece I've been wanting forever! I'll update again after I get it.

It was fast, and painless, but the artwork is phenomenal. He told me exactly how to take care of it and how to make it stand out for longer, My hairdresser saw my tattoo, and now wants to go to him for her next tattoo. I would recommend him to anyone.

Review Source:I have known Jared for a long time, so of course, he was the first person I went to when getting pierced.
My boyfriend got his lip, and I got my septum.
My boyfriend is fearless and is good with pain, so that one went nice and smoothly.
THen when it was my turn, to get my septum pierced, I was scared, and im not good with pain. Jared helped me through it, and eased it, by every other second saying, "are you okay dear"
I would recccommend jared to anyone!!!!
Howard is a fantastic artist, but I don't know who he finds on the street to pierce in his shop. I don't remember the name of the girl who pierced my navel, but she was very cold and seemed a bit judgmental for whatever reason when I was in there. The process was long and agonizingly painful, as she turned my navel inside out with the forceps to pierce it. When i got a navel piercing the second time, the piercer put it right through without twisting my navel inside out. The finished result of my T Man piercing was crooked and haphazardly done, not to mention swollen and a bit bruised. Because it was done crooked, it was hard to clean through and through, and eventually I had to let it close because it was so infected. My current piercer then told me that the previous one gave me horrible aftercare instructions, like to use Bactine and Dial soap. (I later learned that Bactine is not supposed to be used for puncture wounds, and Dial soap is filled with chemicals and dyes.)
Nobody at this shop is friendly and the piercing services are unprofessional, but they are clean. I'll give them that.
These guys are great! Â I went here to get my ears re-pierced, as they had closed up years ago. Â
The place was very clean and sterile. Â Jared worked with me and was nothing but helpful. Â He changed his gloves often and used a different sterile needle for each ear. Â
I also had a belly-button piercing that was starting to close up (I had lost my ring and just never got around to buying another) that Jared helped me with. Â I bought another ring from him, and he used his tools to help open it up a little and put the ring in.
And not only were the guys here professional, they were also fun to talk to and kept my mind at ease.
I would recommend this place to all my friends.
I went to Howard for my tattoo because I checked around and loved his work. Â I have to say I was not disappointed. Â The design was sick and the work was excellent. Â The only problem is I don't think I can ever go to anyone else. Â Very professional, makes you feel comfortable and takes pride in his work. Â Definitely worth every penny.
Review Source:Howard is great! I went in 1 week ago to get a tattoo on my lower back and came out with a work of art! Seriously - I made an appointment, showed up with what I thought was the perfect design and Howard took it to the next level and made it unique!
The shop is clean, so are the tools of the trade, and it's in the perfect spot on Ventura Blvd - right at the pedestrian crosswalk across the street from Chin Chin.
I'm definitely going back for my next tatt!
Howard Teman did my tattoos at another shop several years ago. He really listens to your ideas and combines that with his expertise so the end result is even better than you expected. I'm still just as happy as when I got them, and am thrilled he opened his own shop nearby! Â The shop is clean, has a nice atmosphere and is in a great, safe location plus you get the benefit of Howard's fun personality. Also very cool to know he is the artist behind all those rock and roll posters you've been seeing around for years. Plan to go back!
