Okay, this review is long overdue!
Went to Tattoo's by Lou on a recommendation by our lovely waitress Ashley after I harassed her (I mean, politely) asked where she got her shoulder/arm piece done. So glad I did! I knew I wanted a red rose but not your typical "cut-out"/stencil red rose. Did I mention I was late for my appointment? Oops. Wilson gave me a little crap but I still love him :) Kiki was my tat artist and let me tell you, he has such a light hand I almost fell asleep. Then again, they gave me a blowpop and I got to watch Simpsons on TV lol. Even though the style I wanted him to do wasn't his typical work, he still made the tattoo come out looking clean and exactly what I wanted. Please come check out the shop! Super reasonable prices, clean and sterile place. These guys are the sweetest and will take care of you. Tell them "this little Chinese girl sent me" :)
I just got my front helix pierced and very happy with the result, Dave (I believe that was his name) had to do it twice since my ear is very small and it didn't look satisfying (coming from him), but I was very thankful that he explained every step and why he had to do it again. I'm not a big fan of needles, so I almost fainted, but this had nothing to do with him, he was very comforting.
The store is super clean as it should be and they take there job utterly serious.
I'm back later this year and if I feel like getting another one, this is the place where I get it!
Miami is CHOCK FULL of tattoo shops ready to rip off tourists as I found out on my last trip to Miami however on this visit I did a little more research. Seeing the reviews from other yelpers I decided this was the place to go. It was the best decision. They charged me the same pricing as if I was in New York ( Idk if that's a good thing). I went in with several ideas and Sarah was more than patient and came up with good ideas for me. I had a couples massage the next day and unfortunately her mom was in town and  so could not ink me. Chief was there to the rescue! Sarah sketched out and texted me that night. I gave her my small input and Chief executed. That's team work! One of the longest tattoo shops in the area and I see why!
Review Source:So I decided to get my nipples pierced for my 25th birthday. Â I got my ears pierced as a baby but other that I had no other piercings or tattoos so this was my first experience. Of course I was super nervous and had soo many questions. Â So David (who ended up doing my piercing) was AMAZING! He explained everything to me beforehand and answered my questions. The shop was clean and the whole process was very sterile. David was so chill and did a great job calming me down and the whole experience was so much less painful & scary than I initially expected. Its been about 3 days since and I've been following he's after care plan and everything is perfect with my piercings no complaints at all.
Review Source:I was going to be in Miami for one weekend in August of 2010 and I wanted to get my tongue pierced. I read some reviews and thought I would give this studio a try. I walked into the studio and I told the girl with red hair what I wanted. She said it was going to cost $60, so I paid them. She put the clamp too close to my teeth which later caused the barbell to make a dent on the roof of my mouth. I was nervous because it was my first piercing, so I moved my tongue slightly which caused her to mess up and put a hole in the bottom of my tongue. She tried again and got it through but it started bleeding. I didn't know at the time but tongue piercings are not supposed to bleed. Mine bled instantly and I looked like a zombie. I almost fainted because I didn't eat anything before. So make sure to eat something before you do anything involving tattoos/piercings. She gave me juice and a lollipop to help me which I am so thankful for. It healed normally and after a year of having it, I took it out for 2 days because it was hurting me. When I tried to put the barbell back in, I couldn't. My hole was closed after 2 days! I think this happened becauses it was not pierced correctly.. I will not be getting it redone anytime soon but maybe in the future I will have it done in the correct spot. If I do decide to get it redone, I would not return to this studio. Most of this was my fault and I know that, but for $60 I would have liked a piercing that wasn't as problematic as the one I got. At least they were really friendly though.
Review Source:Top notch! Gathered all my nerves together on a Spring Break trip to get my tragus pierced here... Solid place to go, not like those other tattoo shops along Washington or Alton with the eerie fluorescent lights and big space. On the flip side, Lou's was welcoming and friendly. Especially Sarah, the piercer. Being the "1st tattoo shop in SoBe!" (well almost the first) you could definitely tell they had experience and efficiency. Would like to go back here for my rook!
Review Source:After doing some research, and hearing recommendations from friends, I came to Tattoos by Lou to increase my half sleeve to 3/4. Â I was inked by Kiki. Â I have nothing but good things to say about the shop and the artists.
After a consult with Kiki, I made an appointment. Â Unfortunately, my only day off in the week coincided with his day off. Â So he came in ANYWAYS. Â Just to do my work!! Â He was fast, sweet, and overall a really great artist to work with. Â My 4 hour sitting was all VERY intricate lines, and it's some of the cleanest work I have ever had done. Â The design I had was a bit blurred in one section, and when I gave him artistic license to freehand, he aced it. Â Above and beyond my expectations.
All of the guys in the shop were hella cool. Â Great atmosphere.
I can't wait to go back to do more work with Kiki. Â Washington is saturated with tourist trap tattoo shops, waiting to lure in a drunk coed. Â This is not one of those places. Â As a local, I had such a challenging time trying to find a decent spot for work. Â Tattoos by Lou is a def. legit spot. Â Don't go anywhere else.
9 of us decided to get a commemorative tat after a week of vacationing in Florida. Tattoo's by Lou was the only place that didn't try to rip us off. I had Chief  who's very detail oriented and precise when doing his tats. Even after how my months, it still looks like i got it yesterday - hasn't faded one bit and at least 8 people complemented the tattoo. I definitely recommend this place - it's clean, the people are nice & welcoming, & the cheapest quote in that area.
Review Source:My husband and I went to Miami for our anniversary. I wanted to get a tattoo with my husband's name on it. He also wanted a new tattoo. Because it was South Beach it took us over an hour to get parking (which we ended up paying for) at Miami Ink.
We went in and it was nice inside, but we were not treated all that well. In fact, it was like they didn't need us and we were blessed to be there. After waiting about 20 minutes I went up and told they guy what I wanted, something very small. I wasn't happy with his response. So we walked out and googled other tattoo parlors. Lou's came up with positive reviews.
Lou's was a short walk away and when we walked in we were greeted by Chief. From the start he was helpful, nice and patient. I wasn't sure what I wanted as far as fonts and wasn't sure where I wanted it. He really took his time to give me options, tell me what areas were most painful and drawing up a cute (and small) tattoo. Chief did the tattoo and it was cute and simple. He was very nice and gave us a price that was half what Miami Ink quoted (and they didn't even know what we wanted yet).
My husband was unsure what he wanted so we went to a local bar and googled all kinds of things. We took some pics back to Chief and he gave my husband a very cool tattoo with great detail.
The shop was small, but nice. They were concerned with all the tools being sterile which was great. Will was working  as well. Both Chief and Will were friendly, helpful and very nice. They felt like friends by the time we left. If we get any more tattoos we will be driving the 3 1/2 hours back to Miami...to Lou's.
I would have expected more reviews for this place - wow.
When I was 18 I thought i was old enough to do whatever I wanted to my body, so off I went to Tattoo's by Lou to get my navel pierced. Little did I know that I was not the governess of my body, and wouldn't be for as long as I lived in my dad's house... so there I was the next day getting the ring off.
Didn't last long, as a few months later I rebelled, and was back at Tattoo's by Lou getting it done again.
Each time I went there was no wait, I was taken care of immediately, and when I passed out from the pain, someone was always quick to run next door and get me a coke!
The shop is small, but feels just like what you'd expect a tattoo parlor to feel like: dirty and just a little naughty.
