The amount of time it has taken me to actually write this review I feel is an insult to Jeff Meyer which I am deeply sorry for.
This place is a Diamond in the rough. I didn't even know this place existed until one of my old roomates got a coverup done here by Jeff. To which I decided I wanted to take a chance and get my portrait done by him as well. What a great idea that was.
When I first met with Jeff he was welcoming, funny, and laid back. Not pushy at all and the entire shop has a relaxing feel to it. Jeff took a total of 4 hours to do my grandfather portrait on my arm 3 years ago and to this day I have so many people admiring the work Jeff did and I can seem to write down where I got it done fast enough until another person asks where I got it done.
I went back a year ago to get a large deamcatcher done on the side of my thigh and Jeff again was great!
You can do a walk in but I would nnot recommend it. I would go in, find an artist you like the style of, set up a date to come in and go from there. A lot easier.
I recommend this please 110% if you want affordable and detailed work done. It is definitely worth the traffic to get there.
One thing though that isn't worth docking any stars, but still should be noted. Parking is a b****! =[ My opinion, get dropped off or ride a vespa. Â Trying to park on the busy Ventura Blvd is the worst!
This review is loooooong overdue. Â The owner Sung Song is extremely talented and did a piece on my hips, stomach and above my pelvis area. I didn't get a chance to complete it as I got pregnant and got a lil sidetracked, but, despite the pregnancy, the tattoo still looks fantastic and I am complimented often.
The shop itself is beautiful, clean and I have always found them to be ethical and the owner very principled. Â
This shop only had 2 negative reviews and neither were about shoddy workmanship.
The guys that work here are extremely talented, in high demand, and create artistic quality pieces. Â I paid a deposit to hold my appointment. Â This IS NOT some prison yard tattoo type place.
Speaking from experience, Sung Song has been patient with me and gone above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied and happy customer.
My tips are probably universal for choosing any tattoo artist or shop:
Research the designs and artistic style of a tattoo artist and choose one based on his portfolio and what he or she specializes in.  Gone are the days of some cookie cutter heart  or rose that you pick off a wall at a shop and someone just traces you.  Tattoo artists now are creating custom artwork.  Picasso and Dali were both talented but produced very different  types of art.
When moving to a new place, my biggest cause of concern isn't "Where will I find an apartment" or "where will I buy my groceries now?!" or "Where do I find good hookers and blow?" It's "Where am I going to find a tattoo artist who isn't a total douche and does quality work?" I started searching randomly via google, and Unbreakable was one of the first places I came across. Every artist here does amazing work, and are all around bad ass dudes. Choosing one was tough, but when I saw a tattoo of Lo Pan in Jeff's portfolio, I was sold. I love nerd tattoos, and that's mostly what I'm in for. I've gotten 4 from him so far, and there will be many more. I can not recommend this shop enough. Go here if you like quality line work, phenomenal color, and a group of dudes who are nice, legit, and tell the best dick and fart jokes in LA.
