My wife and I came all the way from New Jersey to get tattoos in San Francisco. Â After researching dozens of shops we decided on Diamond and we could not have made a better choice! Â Matt and Kevin were awesome. Â Our tattoos are literally perfect! Â The guys made us feel extremely comfortable and the shop was super clean. Â We love our new permanent memory of our favorite city in the world.
Review Source:Matt aka Dr. Claw rocks! $60 deposit goes towards your last session.

He is amazing as you can see. I couldn't be happier!!! xoxo
Came in here one Saturday when my girlfriend and I were looking to get a tattoo on a whim. We live 3 blocks away and thought we'd give the neighborhood tattoo shop a chance.
Smart move on our part.
We both had Matt work on us, his work on me was clean and he was a great guy.
But that's not the best part - it was my girlfriend first tattoo, and Matt was amazing with her. He worked up some script for her - the font was beautiful. I was listening to him and Bill and Kevin all talking to her while she was getting tatted, they were all so nice and cool to her, they really made her first experience a great one. So great was her experience, that we were back a month later (again on a whim) to get more work done. Kevin (great name) worked on me this time and Matt did my girlfriend's, we not only got great tattoo, again, but we had a lot of fun bullshitting and telling jokes. I love these guys, go see 'em - you can't go wrong with any one of them, and it'll prove to be an experience for beyond just getting tattooed.
I can't say enough good things about this place. Everyone here was really friendly, and the atmosphere of the shop is very cozy and comfortable, while still being super clean. I was really glad to discover Matt, AKA Dr Claw, through a recommendation. After seeing an in-progress piece of his, I was absolutely certain that this was the guy I needed to do my long awaited right sleeve. I talked with him about my idea, and brought him some reference material; he produced a stunningly beautiful drawing that fit perfectly on my arm. His line work is precise and elegant, definitely some of the best I've ever seen; and on top of that, he works really fast. If you're looking for a traditional Japanese style piece, Dr Claw is your guy. He's also just an all around awesome dude!
Review Source:It is difficult to even know where to begin. Â I searched the entire Bay Area for months to find just the right "fit" to create a full sleeve. Â Through a friend of a friend, I found The Diamond Club. Â They don't do a great deal of advertising - THEY DON'T NEED TO. Â All of the artists are just that, artists. Â I feel so lucky to have found the "new guy," Matt (Dr. Claw). Â Awesome, awesome, awesome. Â He created a full sleeve for me that is nothing short of spectacular. Â Go there. Â See Matt or any of the other artists. Â You will not be disappointed. Â It is so much better than many of the "walk-up" locations all over town.
Review Source:This was the first time I actually planned a tattoo because it wasn't small and I wanted someone who knows what they are doing. Kevin is a great artist he is very professional and quick and pays attention to detail (I know it sounds impossible) but he makes it happen. I cannot wait to go back and get my tattoo finished and get started on more. Thanks Kevin!
Review Source:I ended up trolling through Yelp reviews trying to find a good Japanese style artist that didn't charge 250+ per hour. Â I happened upon Diamond Club and saw the great reviews. Â I called and spoke with Kevin Pulido, explained the sleeve I wanted, and we set up an appointment. Â In the meantime, I stalked his work on the internet and really like what I saw. Â
We worked out a design (with a cover-up), and he had me put down a deposit and we scheduled an appointment to review his final drawing to provide feedback, etc.
Fast forward after an amazing design, now 2 sessions in to an rad Japanese sleeve (Canadian style I'm told...). Â Kevin is not like most tattoo artists I've encountered in large cities; he's down to earth, fun, and someone I really don't mind sitting for a 4-5 hour session. Â He works quickly and methodically, and has an eye for art. Â He is awesome.
Diamond Club has hosted many Japanese artists, and Kevin apprenticed under this style and has this style tattooed on himself as well. Â I would recommend anyone wanting a down to earth, nice tattoo artist who is reasonably priced and good at his job, give Diamond Club a call and set up an appointment with Kevin.
I recently got a half sleeve by Kevin Pulido and couldn't be happier. Â Friendly, helpful, and an amazing artist. Â I've gotten tattoos from other places in San Francisco and no ones work compares to the quality of work Kevin produced. Â He'll work with you with what you want but also will provide some helpful advice to ensure the tattoo will look it's best on your body. Â I highly recommend giving Kevin a call.
Review Source:I went in with my girlfriend to get tattoos a couple weeks ago and were on a tight budget. We went in with our own design and he recreated it perfectly. He gave us a price lower than we were expecting to pay. They did a great job and were completely professional. I would definitely go back if I ever want another. These guys know what they are doing and they do it well. 5 stars!!
Review Source:Kevin Pulido is an amazing artist and I would highly recommend him if anyone is looking to get a REAL one of a kind tattoo. Â He did a cover up of a generic sparrow I got when I was 18 and transformed it into the most artsy, life like, vibrant monarch butterfly I have ever seen. Â He is very professional and thorough. Â I don't think I'll ever go to anyone else. Â He's artsmanship was beyond, and his friendly demeanor made the 2.5 hours go by pretty quickly. Â
The shop overall has a great family vibe. Â They are all so complementary of each other and it made it a comfortable environment to get a tattoo in. Â
I can't say enough good things about my experience to family and friends. Â I would highly recommend anyone looking to get work done go to the Diamond Club and ask for Kevin Pulido.
Diamond Shop is the best shop around!
I have gotten numerous tattoos from Kevin Pulido here and have never been disappointed. Kevin, Junii, and Bill make you feel like family while you are in the shop and genuinely care about you. Kevin is an extremely versatile artist and no matter what style you want he can do it. I personally have a dia de los muertos skull, a traditional gypsy, and an entire japanese leg sleeve all done by Kevin. He is always on time for our appointments and great with working with you to get exactly what you want.
I have had bad experiences in other tattoo shops where they make you feel like just another random client and don't even ask your name, well that will NEVER happen at Diamond Club. Not only is Kevin very personable but Bill and Junii, who weren't even tattooing me, have sat down and had many personable conversations with me and every time i walk in the shop greet me by name. It is a wonderful atmosphere that makes you very comfortable while getting tattooed.
I would, and have many times, HIGHLY recommend going to Diamond Club for your next tattoo. You will not be disappointed.
Love this place. I have gotten a lot of ink at a lot of places and this is by far my favorite.
My guy Kevin Pulido has been working on various pieces of me for the last year and a half. Not only are his skills amazing, he also has a soft hand and amazing attention to detail. All his lines are solid, shading is perfect and colors are out of hand brilliant.
I highly recommend you go in and see what this place is all about.
I LOVE Diamond Club!! = D
I Got my very first tattoo here a few years ago and I have never forgotten about them since. = ) I was referred here by a friend of mines who had majority of his tattoos done by the owner, Bill. I came here with a friend on a 'spur of the moment' thing with a rough idea of what I wanted but not a clear picture. Lucky for me, Bill happen to be in that day and was available to do my tattoo! We spent a good hour just designing the tattoo and I loved it so much that I decided to get it done right then and there! Bill was so sweet and patient throughout the whole time and my tattoo came out BEAUTIFUL!!
I came back this year to get another tattoo done in July and brought a friend with me as well. I expected to receive the same heart filled experience as my last and of course, the staff here delivered. = ) my friend and I loved our tats and within the next month, I referred a couple of my other friends here too and they are in awe with the customer service here! Some of my friends are still in the process of finishing up their tats/in the designing phase but are totally stoked with the process so far.
Will definitely be returning here again soon!! Thanks Diamond Club! You guys are awesome! = D
SOOOOO...I lied and ended up getting two other tattoos after the one Nervio gave me. LOL!
I had to get one fixed because i had a bad reaction to the ointment that I used when i got it. I called this place up because the original place I went to was in LA and I didn't want to drive all the way down there again and because I was very happy with my wrist tattoo from Nervio.
I spoke with Kevin and he informed me that Nervio was no longer with them but he could do it for me. I said sure since I got a really good vibe from them when I was there before. I sent Kevin a pic of my very faded tattoo. When I came in that Sunday he was ready for me. What I thought was just a touch-up (really I know nothing about tattoos) really just ended up being a re-do! I couldn't be happier with how it came out. I got 3 peacock feathers that form a heart on my right shoulder/chest area. It looks like the original but maybe even a little better. I highly recommend Kevin...i'd definitely come back again.
My impulse to finally get a simple tat I've wanted my whole life (a outline of California with a star in the BAY) struck me like at almost ten at night, and as my buddy and i strolled in to the closest spot in the hood-a cool looking magic closet with a mirrored back wall that was trippy (especially when your stooonnnned. sorry for the dorkout) a cool ass cat MICHAEL VIRATA (THE ONLY NINJA IM FKIN WITH FOREVER) hooked it up PERFECTLY. soft spoken skill with swag to the max. Â BIG UP michael! Â i'll see you soon for the martini glass shit i was talkin bout nahmean? Â yee!! Â Â 1hunid
Review Source:I have been getting tattoos from Bill and Junii for over 10 years. In the beginning it was in their apartment while eating dinner and it was super groovy. They have since moved up the street to a location right on Van Ness making getting there really convenient. The shop is  a very cool environment that is super laid back and peaceful. His wife used to do the artwork and Bill would lay down the ink for both my wife and me. Now Bill does my wife's art and Junii does mine.  They are a fantastic combo. I have had work done at a few other places (Hawaii and some local places to me), but I don't know that I'll risk going to anything else at this point. They are not cheap, but I always have to put it like this. If an average tattoo is going to cost you over say $350, then it works out to about a buck a day for the first year and then the rest of your life, it's free! If you get a cheap tattoo it may cost you a lot of money to get it fixed or you'll have a bad tattoo the rest of your life. Although I have never had anyone else in their shop do any work for me, I have seen the other peoples work and it seems to be every bit as awesome. They often have world renowned artists that will stay with them in the city while traveling through the US and that is a really special treat if you can score an appointment with one of them. I'm thinking of the artist that does the original Japanese poke style tattooing. Long story short, if you're thinking about getting a tattoo and want something that will be unique not number 52a on the wall......go see Bill and Junii Salmon at The Diamond Club.
Review Source:My boyfriend got a beautiful sleeve here by Bill & Juni a few yrs ago & I wanted to get a larger piece done that incorporated some old & odd but very sentimental work. Bill did the design, Juni gave her input on placement of  various blossoms & keeping the main cobra in the area I wanted the design to stay with in.They are just a wonderful partnership. The artists at Diamond are all great & unlike other tat places that can be intimidating you truly feel like a guest in their home. It's way chill. In 3 sessions Bill gave me a beautiful piece that makes me smile every time I see it. Any piece you want to get whether it's big, small, or a fix / freshen job you gotta come here. I ve never had a better experience & my Boyfriend's new sleeve that Bill is working on now is amazing. Tat's are like potato chips, you can't have just one... so get to Diamond & get something special.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I were visiting San Francisco on vacation and were wanting to poke into a tattoo shop and possibly get some work done. We looked up tattoo shops on Yelp and found 3 nearby options. The first 2 shops were not open when we stopped by (we think they went to lunch) but the third shop was Diamond Club Tattoo. We liked the shop immediately right when we walked in and after just a few minutes we were talking to Junii and her husband Bill about getting a piece done  Long story short, our work is absolutely amazing and we are very happy with the quality of work and the price point. Great amount of work for the price charged. :-)
Review Source:My friend recommended Diamond Club to me because i wanted a name written in Japanese character. Â Juni, who is from Japan had the name written in a couple of different characters when I went in. Â I had a large tattoo of the name and branches of cherry blossoms across my shoulder blades. I agree with previous reviews, Juni produced a work of art. Â If you saw me on the street or even met me, you would never imagine me with a tattoo (The only other tattoo I have is small, Â on my ankle). Â I am not frilly, but I am quite girlie and this tattoo reflected this. Â I absolutely love my tattoo and even friends of mine that tried to convince me to not get another tattoo think its amazing. Â Juni and her staff were really friendly, which did worry me because I do look like a fish out of water walking into the studio.
Review Source:I had a spur of the moment idea to get a tattoo, and I found diamond club on yelp. First off this place is the real deal, their work speaks for itself and  you will get more than you pay for. My experience was great and Bills work was awesome.  They made time for my appointment and I was able to walk out there door with a new tattoo that day. I will be going back again.
Review Source:Update: my husband and I went back again today - him for a tattoo by Bill, and me for color work on my existing back piece by Junii. At this point, I've been going back for three years to add and expand the color on my piece, and every time I come away impressed with Junii and Bill's attention to detail and outright perfectionism, as well as their ability to work in so many styles. My husband's piece is relatively small, and done in strong black lines. Mine is very intricate, large, and multi-colored - and both of them look great. Also, I know perfection is important when you're talking about your tattoo, but so is cost, and you're probably thinking that multiple trips to perfect your detail and color is going to break your bank, but it won't. At D.C. they appreciate your business, want you to be happy, and take pride in their work and they will make sure that your tattoo is a beautiful and affordable piece of living art.
Review Source:I have been getting tatooed at Diamond Club for a couple of years. First Juni did a touch up on a tattoo that I got on the east coast in a sub-par shop but she made it something to be proud of. Every time I go into Diamond Club I feel welcome and the employees show in interest in my ideas, So this time i went in with a basic idea for a phoenix back piece Nervio wa the right man for the job although I trust Juni and Bill completely  I saw Nervio doing large pieces while I was getting tattoed by Juni. I put in very little as far as ideas I just trusted his talent and let me tell you. I could not be happier with my phoenix! It FAR exceeded by expectaions. This is the shop to go to get real work done even for fisrt timmers. I send a friend for her first tattoo and she was soooo  happy and felt welcomed and Bill and he showed a real interest in a very basic tattoo He wasnt to good for it he just made it beautiful. New or old to the tattoo world, Diamond Club is a true professional Tattoo shop. I couldnt be happier with the work Ive had done there!
Review Source:I was given the recomendation of Diamond Club and they could not have been more right on the referral!
This was/is my first tattoo I had my consultation with Junni and when I came in for my tattoo I couldn't have been happier ~~ she was able to translate all that I had told her and other pictures I had shared to this wonderful tattoo I now have.
Bill did the work and was kind as this was my first ever tattoo and stopped to give me a breath at all the right times!
I HIGHLY recommend going here if you want tattoo artwork!
Today Nervio did my tattoo. Â I was putting it off... but I'm glad I went to Diamond Club. Â Nervio is an angel. Â He has impeccable timing - just when the pain escalated to the point where it could hurt like a mother, he would stop and reload. Â He is a master. Â What I had in my head would not have translated well in ink and he let me talk it out, he drew on my arm etc. Â He could have easily done what I wanted but he takes pride in his craft & explained what would work, what would not. Â I'm so pleased with what I have! Â Got to meet the owner Bill. Â You don't meet very many people with a beautiful spirit - Bill is one. Â If you want ink, want it expertly done without a heavy hand, Nervio is your man. Â Diamond Club is the place to go. Â Step up and have some artwork done!
Review Source:i just got my half-sleeve tattoo at this shop. Â it was actually done by a visiting artist from brussels. Â his name is shad. Â i am so pleased with my new tat! Â
as for the shop, i can't speak much of the other artists' work, but i can say that everyone that works there made me feel very comfortable and at ease during the whole painful process. Â bill salmon, the owner, seems like a very cool, laid-back dude. Â they even bought me dinner during one of my sessions. Â mike, an apprentice at the shop, was very helpful. Â very cool, decent people.
the only thing that sucked was finding parking, but then again, it's san francisco, so what do you expect? Â
i would definitely go back if ever i get another tat!
Bill Salmon,Junii Salmon and Nervio are CLASS ACTS in the tattoo world. World class art  at very fair prices. Old school artists are retiring and dropping out of the business.Catch Bill while he continues his craft. Junii has charming grace as well as exquisite artistic skills and an eye for detail. Nervio is diverse and accomplished, accessible and poised, his skills complete and compliment  the Diamond Club's dedication for beautiful skin art. I encourage my Sonoma County friends and neighbors to make the trip to the City, to the Diamond Club. Best art at lower prices than the mediocre artists we have locally. You will be forever grateful you made the choice.
Review Source:Found this place on Yelp when I was looking to get my first tattoo, and I'm very pleased that I did. Â
My Tattoo artist was Nervio. Â I came in for a consultation with a crude sketch and few ideas. Â By the time I came back the next week, he had translated all of that into a really cool design... probably better than what I imagined myself. Â
Nervio had a good concept of how the size of the tattoo and details of the design would look on my skin once tattooed, not too big, not too small, perfect size for the level of detail and proportions of my body. Â I'm still impressed with the shading and details on the finished tattoo. Â My mom even likes it, which is a total shock to me. Â
The atmosphere at the shop was laid back and inviting, well kept, and artsy without being too edgy or any of that. Â Nervio too, was super laid back and cool. Â Definitely the kind of people and place that put a tattoo newbie and super square like myself at ease. Â I'd definitely recommend Nervio & the Diamond Club to anyone looking to get a tattoo. Â I'm already thinking about my next one, and after my experience here, this is the only place I'd go.
So I trusted all you Yelpers out there to come here for my first tattoo!!
I had my photo printed out and met with Nervio for a consultation a week prior. He was so friendly, warm, and made me feel at ease. He loved my pic and told me he was excited to tattoo this design on me, which made me very comfortable and excited.
So the day comes (Labor Day) to get my tattoo, and I wake up with a headache, I'm nervous, and unsure of whether or not I am doing the right thing, even though I'd been wanting this design for over 3 years....
So it comes down to it, and I decide I'm going for it! I get to the shop and Nervio greets me and my best friend who came along for support. He had drawn up and gave me 3 different sizes to choose from, which was great. I told him exactly where I wanted it and he placed it exactly where I wanted.
So I am sitting in the chair getting ready and I am so nervous I almost back out, but decide I really want this and I've heard good things about his work. So he starts tattooing and its going well other than a few painful lines, but hey, it's forever!!
My best friend held my hand the entire time and before I knew it (45mins!) Nervio announced he was finished.... (Mind you, this was on my back, so the entire time, I never knew what to expect.)
I went to go check it out, and was so impressed and happy and glad I went through it all despite the nerves. The tattoo came out JUST like the picture I gave him, but better. The design is a high heel but created entirely out of flowers and leaves, and all the shading and coloring is exceptional.... I am so in love with this tattoo and his work, that I am recommending Nervio to EVERYONE in San Francisco, and even outside SF. The work is amazing and was totally worth the pain ( and now the tenderness and scabbing, ewww)
GO SEE NERVIO FOR YOUR BEST TATTOO AND BEST EXPERIENCE!!!
Best tattoo experience I've ever had! The shop is very well kept and inviting. Nervio was my tattoo artist and he is excellent! He's done three of the five tattoos that I have. He's extremely nice, Â well versed in many tattoo styles, and displays a precision like no one's business. I would highly recommend Diamond Club and Nervio to anyone looking to get a tattoo.
Review Source:I went to see Juni and she is AMAZING!!! She was very understanding of what I wanted in a tattoo. We discussed in advance of my appointment what I would like. She took a piece of paper measured the area that I wanted the tattoo and then drew everything by hand. I went back and made a few changes with her and then made the date for my 1st sitting. It took about 3.5 hrs but it was worth every minute! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my tattoo and get so many compliments on it. This is an appointment only place so don't expect to just walk in one day and walk out with a tattoo. Ever one at the shop (Bill, Juni (they are husband and wife) and Nervio) are very seasoned at they craft. I would recommend any of the 3 if you would to get work done. They are extremely nice at the shop and are willing to talk with you at length about your Tattoo to make sure that it is what you want. I mean it is for life right?! Can not WAIT to get my color done!!!!
Review Source:I'm not much a review writer but I need to give props to Bill. I was a "virgin" tattooie and Bill put me at ease right away. He explained everything as it was happening and made sure I was comfortable. Â
I am becoming addicted to tattoos and thinking about my next one. There is no one else I will see but Bill or his wife. Â Â Best to make an appointment as I made the mistake of dropping in, and waited a few hours. My own fault.
Also, Bill made a point to offer free touch-ups if the tattoo starts to fade which is a major plus. Bring Cash or use the ATM up the street!
My sister-in-law recommended this place and I have been wanting to get another one for over 10 years now so I decided to try it out. Â Juni was the best! Â She does some great work and gets the detail down just the way you want it. Â I like how she has a consultation visit with you first before she schedules you for the actual tattoo. Â Everything is very clean and well-maintained there. Â I'm already scheduled to have another one done there!
Review Source:This place is awesome. Â I got a Japanese style half-sleeve and chest piece done by Bill Salmon and his wife Juni. Â Echoing others here, I LOVE the work. Â These two are genuinely nice people (zero attitude, unlike many shops) and jaw dropping tattoo artists. Â Whether you are getting your first tat or running out of real estate, I could not give these two a more favorable recommendation.
Review Source:The Diamond Club Tattoo Studio is everything you could ever wish for! I have had my work done by Junii and my finacee has had his work done by Bill. We have been going to them for a few years and have recommended many people to them because of their love for the art as well as the mellow vibe in the studio.
If you're one of those people who is heavily anticipating getting a trendy butterfly tattooed on your boob or you want Trust No Bitch in Kanji on your pecs, Â this is NOT the place for you! Bill and Junii are serious about their art and are true artists- meaning you can't be disappointed if the "drawing/picture" you brought in doesn't come out exactly like you wanted it to. Understand that part of the whole experience when working with a tattoo artist is trust. Â If you're not ready for that or you think that your tattoo HAS to look EXACTLY like the picture in your mind, go elsewhere! Â Great tattoo work by amazing people, I definitely receommend it!
Bill Salmon, the owner of this tattoo shop, is one of SF's greatest tattoo artists. I have about 7 tattoos by him (for a while I went kind of crazy and only got tattooed by him and he actually started to gently guide me toward other artists too, in keeping with his whole groovy tattoo philosophy). Â His work is heavily influenced by Japanese tattooing and is both a client and student of one of the great Japanese tattoo families.
Not only does he do beautiful work, but he is a sweetheart and his shop always has a lovely mellow vibe -- much more "Would you like some green tea?" than the sort of testosterone/meth/moron vibe that one sometimes has to suffer through, even in good shops.
Junii has designed a couple of pieces for me but I have only had work done by Bill and one of his now-gone apprentices, who was also terrific. Â My work from this shop is all 5-10 years old and still beautifully strong color and unblurred lines. Â This shop is one of SF's best kept secrets!
So I got my tattoo on Tuesday the 25th and although it hurt like a mother-trucker I LOVE IT. I came in a here a little while ago and gave my vision of what I wanted to Joe one of the artist. He drew up this beautiful tattoo that I envisioned and I got it done. It is huge and across my chest (and in color). Joe put up with my moaning and crying and I put up with the pain for two hours and well worth it! He knew that this tattoo was a dedication to my late father and put the love I needed into it.
