Ah, Freaky's. The classic Denver Headshop. I've been in here a couple of times, and each time the staff was friendly, helpful, and seemed like they genuinely enjoyed the conversation. The first time in I was looking for a nose ring for my girl, and while they didn't have what I wanted I did spy an angry-birds piece out of the corner of my eye and eagerly bought it instead.
The second time in I was looking for a debowler, and when the guy found out he didn't have any, he called the Colfax store for me to see if they had any (they did) and offered me a 10% discount for the inconvenience of the drive to the other store.
Friendly and helpful staff, so far the best headshop I've found on Leetsdale/Parker.
This place has been around for a long time. I have always enjoyed the staff and products carried. The Tattoo artist's are amazing. Zez is there from Newspeak Custom Tattoo. He and Sam realy do some great art. Always impressed. Clean and sterile with a fun atmosphere makes you feel comfortable. Check out http://www.sincerelyzez.… or stop by.
Review Source:I will start off by saying I did not actually go to the shop, I merely called to ask them about items they might have in stock. The guy who answered laughed at my questions as if I were very stupid, and proceeded to give me incorrect information about the availability of certain items. He made me feel as if I were foolish for calling, and it inspired me to never, ever visit them.
Review Source:Going here for one specific item, I was surprised by how friggin awesome it was inside. It looks like a little hole in the wall and is quite difficult to park at, but the inside is pretty big and they have a variety of stuff -- including things I had never seen or heard of before. The staff was super helpful and I think it's really cool they also do piercing & tattoos.
If I lived in Denver, I would definitely, definitely come back.
Freakys is right on the edge of a 2.5 for me, but I'm gonna go ahead and give them the 3 based on their good customer service. The parking lot can be interesting to get in and out of, to say the least. In addition to their other more offbeat merchandise, I always come here to shop for my incense. They have some of the best Nag Champa in town, and for the big package, the best price I've found. At one point they changed their brand of Nag Champa incense that they carried and I got all bent out of whack - that is until they told me why they changed. Seems the old kind was made with slave labor, so I was immediately sheepish and have been a big fan ever since. They do have handicapped access, but it is apparently off in the back and I've never seen where it leads.
