What a great experience.  I had a general idea of how I wanted to do some work to a tattoo I already had.  He took the time to really come up with a sketch that I thought was perfect.  He did a large portion of it free hand and the final product is such high quality.  Went from a boring stationary tattoo, to a dynamic, amazingly artistic piece.

I would also give 5 stars to just the overall vibe and the total lack of snobbery and pretentiousness.

Tim, you're a cool Mother F&*^%#@ (and so is Aaron as well).  I'll be back in the spring from the windy city for another session!

I am so lucky that I happened upon this shop. I've been a life long tattoo enthusiast and managed to not get any actual tattoos upon my person until this week. In honor of my last year of my 20s, my Mom took me to get my first tattoo.
Aaron was my artist and you couldn't ask for a more professional and awesome tattoo experience. The art he worked up was beautiful and I absolutely love it. These guys are humble and competent. To echo others: If you want a gorgeous tattoo and a excellent experience go to Good Omen. I will be headed back for sure. If you want to see a pic, I am the gal with the glasses and the upper back stylized horse tattoo in the pic section.

Just got a piece done on my arm by Aaron, and it's beautiful!  Shop was clean, all artists were friendly and professional.  Will definitely go back for more work!

My boyfriend and i were driving around Santa Cruz checking out tattoo shops because we both had a tattoo in mind of getting. The first few shops that we stopped at required you to have an appointment. When we were on our way to another shop I noticed a new tattoo shop on water st so we decided to stop in and check it out. When we walked in I could already tell this was the place i wanted to go to get my tattoo done the atmosphere was nice and the artist were nice to. Luckily for us Tim was available for us as walk ins which was very nice of  him because like most places on saturdays you most likely need an appointment. Tims work is amazing I showed him what i wanted and he did it. He made it look better than the picture. As for the shop itself its pretty sick and very clean which is a major plus. As for the artist they are all amazing they are very fun to be around and fun to talk to there not big headed there really down to earth people who love what they do. i highly recommend going there you wont be disappointed.

Love! Love!  Just finished 4+ hours with Tim!  My first time with him and he is talented friendly and a unique, clean shop!  Tim quickly came up with a drawing and fit me in his schedule (after another artist canceled the morning of my appointment, I had waited almost 1 year).  I'll post pics when finished!
The only difficult thing here was trying to sit still when they had me rolling with laughter ))  I can't wait for it to heal so I can go back to get it finished!!  It is the new standard for tattoo shops!

Last month, I drove my girl friend all the way down to Santa Cruz so she could get a tattoo.  Apparently, Good Omen had a visiting artist that my friend is a fan of so, we had to go specifically to see her.  Her work was awesome and well worth the drive.  She really had the touch and didn't mind when only a small piece was requested.

The shop itself was pretty wicked.  It's theme is... I donno, rustic, dungeon, stylish but sick?  I noticed the equipment they used was state-of-the-art, too.  It's clean inside but you have to trek to find a restroom.  There's also very sketchy cell coverage in there... or my phone was on the blitz... again.

Anyway, I'd definitely consider making the drive, if I ever decide to get the tattoo I've been thinking about.

    Might see you there.

I've been working with Tim for 5 years now, originally starting at another local shop, and would never feel comfortable letting anyone else work on me. Period. I'd follow him anywhere. Good Omen is the real deal. The guys are amazingly/wickedly talented, and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable, yet 100% professional, with an ultimate focus on client satisfaction above all else. Tim and Aaron are the genuine article. They guarantee a quality product at a reasonable price. I don't know what else you could possibly ask for. I'm all about Good Omen for the long haul. Santa Cruz, do yourself a favor and see for yourself.  See you soon guys, keep up the amazing work!

absolutely the best tattoo shop i've ever experienced. I'll review the artist, but I have to say that the overall ambiance is incredible. Completely speechless after I entered their shop. The decor will keep your eyes moving from corner to corner. I was tattoo'd by Aaron (3rd one) and dudes work is dope to say the least. I had him do a portrait on my forearm in between 2 other tattoos. It wasn't the most ideal location, but he made that ish work & it looks EXACTLY like the picture. I cannot express enough the work this man does is by far the best ive seen. I consider my self lucky for this artist to be within driving range from me.  If you're looking for a chill spot & excellent artists, then you found it & will not regret it!!! Good looking out Good Omen, much success! Yelp needs more than a 5 rating for spots like this.

I recently went in to get my first piece at Good Omen since they opened. What a nice change for a Santa Cruz shop. No attitudes, warm welcome, open minds and they don't gouge you at all on the cost to support their egos. They really care about doing great work and providing an awesome environment to get some ink done. They're very experienced, both Tim and Aaron, and after only my first visit, I definitely have a new goto tattoo shop in Santa Cruz. HIGHLY recommended.

Short review: Tim is the absolute shit and you should get tats from him

    Long Review:

I went to Tim for my first tattoo. It was my right should, neck, and upper arm. I had drawn a few rough sketches of what I wanted, but I really needed an artist to make it into something fantastic. The first day I met Tim, he understood exactly what I wanted. We went over various art books and I had a fantastic experience.

It took 3 sessions, probably 11 hours total. The amazing thing is that most of it was free hand. One he'd gotten the outline in, the rest was just free flowing while we watched movies like "Loathing". I put my complete faith in him and he didn't let me down. The shading is fantastic. The artwork is 1 of a kind original (with my input). It didn't hurt at all until he got to my neck, but what're ya gonna do ;).

I'll post some pics when I can, but I'd go back to Tim any day of the week. And he's good people too.

Best of luck on the new shop man. You were THE reason I went to Staircase.

    Cheers,

    Josh

    I'm a patient of Tim!
Tim is very clean, tidy, neat, courteous, polite and just respectful! That's just him. He is one talented dude! You should see his doodles and sketches! Really a gifted artist!

Tim doesn't smoke or smell..and that is a huge difference when you have to sit in a chair for hours getting inked!
Let me ask you something...Have you ever sat in a chair while the artist is detoxing, when you can smell the alcohol from his breath?!? Hey..that smells like a Bloody Mary mixed with pancakes...Is that what you had after last call?!?!

Nothing like having an artist needing a smoke break to calm his nerves!! Breath like an ashtray!! Gross!! Yuck! Seriouly think about it!
One time, while I was in Iowa visiting my father, he booked time with this artist who was supposedly great...He was Huge!! Maybe 350lbs!! The tattoo turned out great, but I had to smell his B.O. and the smegma that was oozing from his body!!
Do you know what smegma smells like?
    Anyways..

Bring in what ever you would like permanently tattooed to your precious skin and Tim will transform it into a master piece!

Such a fan of Tim Buonagurio & Aaron Cooper!

My Husband and I originally met Tim when he was doing his time at another shop here in SC.  He is such a personable human and does AMAZING work - how could we not follow him to his own shop?

The space that Tim & Aaron have set up just a stones throw from our house is awesome!  You can tell by the level of work they put in just designing the shop that these two truly care for their craft!  The space is decorated so uniquely and is amazingly clean and welcoming.  I gotta say, it was refreshing to not have to be ink'd in a dark-run-down-place for once!

The exceptional customer service and "we enjoy what we are doing for a living" attitude that Aaron and Tim have is also a big plus for me!  Can't tell you how many disconnected, jaded and bored tattooist I have met in my life....personally it has always been the reason I didn't get tattooed more often.  It's nice to have an artist as excited about your piece as you are....It gives more meaning and purpose to the finished product.

Bottom line, if you are seeking a shop of the tourist trail here in SC and want a pleasant, safe and memorable experience - give Aaron and Tim a try.  I just got inked by Tim today and I'm already plotting on my next piece.......

Absolutely Amazing on top of Awesomeness! There really isn't enough words to describe Tim... He does such a great job and has been tattooing for years.. I just went to his new shop last week to get another piece done with him and just to catch up and support this awesome new shop that him and Aaron so well deserves. Tim the goober is such a character that it does not help my addiction with tattoos and wanting on coming back. You really can not get enough of him and his personality and his amazing art work. Look no further you really will not and can not go wrong with any of these guys! They will be the next new best thing in Santa Cruz I GUARANTEE IT!  I'll be back on monday : ) Although I think you should put a deal on Yelp so whoever checks in gets 10% off  hehehe... just an idea since ill be back Monday... : )

Tim does excellent work. He has done both sleeves and now my chest. We are working on the details for a back piece. Tim and Aaron are also friendly and make you feel comfortable for your 1st or 100th tattoo. No tattoo shop attitude here. They are your tattoo family. The shop it self is amazing. Stop by check it out, say hi.....and book your next tattoo.

This is a great shop and Tim is a fantastic artist, I only have one complaint everywhere I go I have to answer the question WHERE DID YOU GET THAT TATTOO ITS AMAZING!!! Serioulsy I love this shop there is more experience here than I am old. Tim has made sure that I will go to my casket well decorated. He hs covered some funky old tattos and given me some amazing new ones. No dirty looks here, I  felt like I was visiting old friends the  first time I walked in. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone wether its your first tattoo or looking to fill the last piece of open skin you have left
