For a business that is all about art and customer service, they have, bar none, the worst receptionist (Angie) in town with the worst customer service skills.
Granted, Anil's work is exceptional but having a reputation doesn't excuse absolutely disgusting customer service. First, they charge you $100 for consult, during which ALL they do is google pictures and photoshop them onto your body and call it art. Subsequently, they refuse to book an appointment for the actual tattoo until you physically walk-in with cash. No credit cards and no over-the-phone service. So clearly, you must take a day off from work just to get an appointment. To top it off, you get absolutely rude emails.
There are plenty of humble artists in the city...you absolutely cannot trust an artist once you've been treated so abysmally. 4K for a tat? I'll take my business where it's appreciated.
I have gotten tattoos from Anil and JP. Both are amazing artists and super nice guys. If you are looking to get a quality tattoo done and i mean QUALITY, than this is the place to go. If your one of those people that want to pick from a book, or off a flash art wall than this is not your place.
I found Inkline Studio a few years ago through a Google search of the best tattoo artists in the world. After reading all the reviews about it, I decided to make an appointment with JP to get my first tattoo. Angie the receptionist was extremely nice and very easy to get in contact with regarding my consultation and sessions. As a side note I would definitely call ahead and make an appointment. This place gets a lot of customers.
When you walk in, the place looks more like a gallery than a tattoo shop. It is super clean and very well organized.
JP made my first tattoo a truly remarkable experience, he is a true professional in his field. He worked with me every step of the way to design and create my tattoo. I will definitely be back to get another from him. Â I also like the fact that JP has a background in art and graphic design, and was a teacher as well.
I am baffled at how amazing and talented Anil is. He does not look like your average tattoo artist, but he is the best. He is very professional and genuinely interested in every tattoo he does. He did a great amount of research for my tattoo to make sure everything looked as realistic as possible. Oh and did i mention that he did everything freehand, which I couldn't believe.
I can not say enough good things about Inkline Studio, if you are looking for a quality tattoo and an amazing artist to do it than look no further.
I've had tattoos for over 20 years and I learned a long time ago that you get what you pay for. I had so much fun and learned a lot at Inkline Studio during my tattoo. I have been to so may tattoo conventions over the years and Anil is the most detailed tattoo artist I've ever seen. I don't know of anyone on the planet that could have been so detailed with my tattoo. The guy that Anil was working on before me was getting some bio mechanical that rivaled anything Anil had ever done. This guy is still getting better! I expected a lot after watching all the great youtube vids of Anil tattooing others and the website is great. I loved the detail of the miniatures and bio mechanical. I'm looking forward to working my next tattoo with Anil. JP was working on a girl at the same time that I was getting mine and she was very glad that she went to Inkline. My friends are so jealous and want to get work done from Anil after seeing my tattoo. I'm the happiest guy in the world!
Review Source:Anil Gupta is a true master of his craft, the creme de la creme of tattoo artists and a dying breed of individuals who spend their lives perfecting, studying and fine tuning their gifts.
My husband has pieces skillfully done by Anil and they truly are fine pieces of art. Â So, if you're drunk to lost a bet and a tattoo is you're way to define the occasion, this is not the artist to run such BS by.
He is a natural born philosopher who wants to study your reasoning behind the art you commissioning him to create. Â Your story needs to inspire him, and make sure you have the resources you would if you we're hiring the best attorney or doctor and your life depended on it. Â He is worth every penny and the art which you and him will have created together will become your life long connection.
He is one of a kind, and this is the place to go if you're very serious about the quality of art you'll be taking with you for the rest of this life and the level of mastery your paying for...
I came all the way from Copenhagen, Denmark for a tattoo from Anil. Pricy tattoo yes, but worth every cent! When in NYC - and wanting a piece... Go to inkline for artwork and professional consultation. Rest assured that no one here will ink something they dont believe will look great.
Review Source:Anil Gupta -- Enough Said! Â If you're looking for a portrait tat, or any other tat that involves serious detailing -- he's DEFINITELY the one! Â He tatted a portrait of my daughter on my forearm and it's PICTURE PERFECT! Â Check this dude's portfolio and see for yourself! Â Yes, he's pricey, Yes he charges a consultation fee, but if you want THE BEST - look no further! Â His waiting list is 3-4 months.. Seriously people, what does that tell you? Â This isn't a walk in shop! Â He creates MASTERPIECES! Â Spend the extra money and realize the true artist that he is! Â When you see the final product, you'll say to yourself - MONEY WELL SPENT!
Review Source:A tattoo is FOREVER and the folks at Inkline understand that. Anil and JP are artists first and foremost and anybody would be lucky to pick up a piece from them. I was particularly impressed with how much consideration was given to how the tattoo would age. The studio is pristine - "operating room" clean! Angie, Anil's wife, is a delight to work with in scheduling and consultation. You can expect a wait to get in but once you do, you will get exactly what you wanted and more. In short, you absolutely get what you pay for at Inkline! Check out the their portfolios on http://inklinestudio.com.
Review Source:I think the work is indeed beautiful, but $200 for a consultation?? Such a rip-off!! My cousin did a small Om tattoo at another location and was charged $50. I wanted the same, and the receptionist - (Angie) stated $650. I'm sorry but they would have to blow me for that price! check out - http://www.nyhctattoo.com in the same neighborhood with quality service and affordable price.
Review Source:When you want art instead of flash. When you want stunning instead of yeah it looks ok. Lets be honest there is nothing worse then seeing an ugly blob of a tat on a otherwise beautiful person. This is not a flash filled wall, come on in anytime and get a tat place. This is a gleaming spotless studio. Here will you will find the master of masters when it comes to tattoos. Â Want Ivy league educated or perhaps Guinness book of World records artist? The two artists are truly that;artists, but really don't take it from me look at their website to see work they have done. You will be ohhhh and ahhhing and want one for yourself. Perhaps more expensive then the typical parlor but worth it. PS just saw that NYink show YUCK who wants a tat from a bunch of whiny fighting people.
PS Â yes I do have a tat from this studio. it is beautiful and perfect.
