So I got a wild hair to go and have my nose re-pierced. Â (I'd had it done years ago and it had grown back together.) Â I asked around, and of course did my research here on Yelp. Â Yelpers are generally dead reliable, so I packed up my courage in a little kit bag and came on down to Piercing Experience.
It was a quiet Thursday noon, so no one in the shop but me. Â Christina and staff were totally professional. Â They helped me choose the right size stud for my nose and steered me away from one too big. Â They went over all the safety precautions and after care instructions. Â
Christina did my piercing, and everything was scrupulously clean. Â She talked me through it and was very soothing, since I am a big old wimp and fall out after getting my blood drawn or less. Â It was just a little poke and a pinch and BAM! Â Cool new blue stud in my honker. Â
I am not a "piercing connoisseur"...beyond my nose and ears I have no piercings or ink. Â So take it from a greenhorn and go see the fine folks at Piercing Experience. Â You'll be glad you did.
Been here numerous times over the years, and I can honestly say they are the best!
Have had many piercings done here, all were pleasant and the pain was minimal. First time I visited PE was in 2002, right after I had gotten a navel piercing from Good Clean Fun. The piercer at GCF was just awful, and maliciously stuck me (I went with my friend, who annoyed him at the time, and this guy took it out on me!) so hard that I felt like 1. I was being stabbed, 2. I was being hooked like a fish, and 3. I froze for the duration of the piercing because of the extreme pain. The guy was not professional, the place was unsanitary, I was naive and left with a too-deep navel ring that wouldn't stop bleeding. I bled so much on the drive home that the bottom of my shirt and the top of my pants were soaked with blood. It was traumatic. I felt like I was a victim in a horror movie.
Well, my manager at the time (who was dating Brian) referred me to PE. I went, and Brian did what he could, and he did an amazing job, but in the end the piercing was too deep and could not be saved, so I had to let it heal.
After that, I've been going to the PE since, and have never been letdown.
Great customer service, friendly and informative staff, extremely sanitary conditions, and great jewelry selection.
In Which You're Driving By A Piercing Shop, Do A U Turn and Swiftly Have a Hole Punched In Your Nose
The last time I pierced my nose, it involved an ice cube, a stray earring, and punk rock ovaries in my teenage bedroom. It was also 20 years ago.
Suddenly struck with the inspiration to reopen old holes, I decided to go about things differently this time. Â Having already read the glowing reviews about Piercing Experience, a random drive on McClendon turned into Hey, I'm Going To Pierce My Nose Right Before Lunch.
Christina came out and greeted me. Â We briefly chatted about what I wanted, I selected a flat titanium stud and paid up. Just about five minutes later, I was brought into what looked like a surgical suite. Â I hopped on the bed thinger and laid on my side. Â
Next thing I know, it's done.
It's been a few weeks since my piercing and I'm due for a checkup / earring change  in about 3 more. I've had no problems whatsoever and the entire experience was a breeze.  If I'm ever struck with another craving, I will not hesitate to see Christina.
5 Throbbing, Nicely Healed Uninfected Adorable Stars
I recently decided to get my septum pierced and had been looking for a reputable shop in Atlanta. Having been tattooed in many shops that pierce too, I had a decent grasp on what to expect. Piercing Experience was the shop that came up over and over in conversations and local reviews. Known for their exceptional cleanliness, knowledge and customer service, PE did not disappoint.
I was pierced by Christina, who I think owns the shop. She was very nice, patient and relaxed. Her calm disposition helped me remain calm and comfortable. She washed her hands at least twice, possibly thrice, throughout the processes. Before setting up and taking me into the room, before she sanitized and inspected my nose, and before putting on gloves, a face mask and opening a new needle and the jewelry. She talked me through everything and minimized fear/anticipation by remaining calm.
Piercing Experience is definitely more expensive than other shops in the area, but that extra $10 comes back to you in their knowledge and customer service. They invite you back for a check-up once you've healed, too. If you're on the fence, definitely go. I've never been to a friendlier, cleaner shop. This was my first piercing outside of my ear lobes and I wouldn't dream of getting my next anywhere else.
Went in today to get a vch piercing. Â I was so nervous. Â After talking to the owner and piercer Christina, I laid down, relaxed, and POW! Â It was over. Â It was no way near as bad as I thought. Â The establishment was clean and the staff was very professional! Â I highly recommend them!
Review Source:Did a bit of research before choosing which piercing parlor I wanted to go to, and chose PE. I came in earlier this evening to get something done and I had really mixed feelings about this place throughout the entire time I was there.
BF and I walked in and was greeted by Robert, who was the only one behind the counter at the time. Apparently, he is a guest piercer? (Which explains a lot of what I wrote below). I asked him a couple of questions but he didn't give me clear answers to any of them (e.g. How much the piercing fee would be? - It depends on the jewelry you choose, but it'd run you about *insert monetary value here*). I really just wanted to know if I'd get a better deal getting multiple piercings in one sitting. I eventually opted to get both done since Robert didn't really have any advice and it would be a bit cheaper. This actually wasn't the smarter decision as I'll mention later.
Well, I already had my mind set, so I went ahead, filled out the form and paid. I was baffled that he struggled with the POS system a bit (another gentleman assisted him later for something else). He then discussed jewelry options and went to sterilize everything. He popped back in and even asked what color anodization I wanted (Side note: working in the medical device industry made me very familiar with anodization, so it made me relax a bit, knowing their process of sterilization).
After interacting with him for a while, seeing how he moved, spoke, and behaved, I actually felt very.. uneasy with him being my piercer. By this time, the aforementioned gentleman had come up to the front (while Robert was in the back), so I actually requested if Christina could do the deed instead. He went to ask and a then I could hear talking and laughter coming from behind the wall after I made my request, which made me feel as if my request was an outrageous one or something.
After a minute or two, Christina came out and, honestly, (initially) it felt like it was a bother to have requested for her. But I was already there and I already paid, so I was gonna go through with it. She checked my paperwork to see what I wanted done and IMMEDIATELY gave her professional opinion about NOT getting both at the same time. I took her up on that, so I was refunded and then charged again for a single piercing instead. We spoke for a bit about aftercare (since I was not informed earlier) and suggesting setting up a follow-up to make sure I heal properly (a HUGE plus!!!). She then left to re-sterilize everything, as each piercer has his/her own method of working.
Gah, I already wrote a novel. OKAY, so I finally make it into one of the private rooms and by now Christina and I have become quite chatty and I've come to realize how freaking AWESOME she is. She asked if I had any questions and then proceeded to tell me the steps she was going to take -- keep in mind that the entire time, she cleaned her bare hands with hand sanitizer after she touched anything. She then put on her gloves and marked the spot with the ash of a burnt matchstick to see if it looked alright and I gave her the go-ahead. Without using any clamps or any other tools other than the needle and her hands, it was quick, easy, and I only felt a pinch!
The price -- piercing fee + jewelry (priced in two parts) -- came out to be about $20 more than I expected, but if you're a huge clean freak like me, it's worth it. Their jewelry for new piercings is made of surgery grade titanium and they follow a strict quality standard when it comes to material lot tracking and passivation (again, from working in the medical device industry -- thumbs up). There is private parking is located behind the building, but if you car is lowered/slammed, take the entrance from McLendon Avenue (between PE and Candler Park Market), NOT Clifton Road. I think the location of this place is great and if we didn't have somewhere else to be after, BF and I wouldn't walked around to check out the neighborhood.
So, walking in I felt great, during the wait and switch-off of the staff I felt uneasy/uncomfortable, but walking out I felt amazing.
3 stars for now for the extreme uncomfortable feeling I got from Robert. I will update when I come back for my follow-up and potential second piercing with them. Sorry, Christina!!!
PS - According to their website, they offer a 5% student discount. I wish they'd mention that while I was in the store. :/
When I moved to Atlanta my beloved piercer in San Francisco recommended this shop. Â The fact that they're reputation is known across the country speaks volumes about the caliber of work they do. Â While I've only visited once I was amazed with my experience. Â Everyone was polite and professional, and the extent to which they explain the process and sterilize EVERYTHING is again a testament to the quality of their work. Â I'm trying to figure out what to get pierced next just so I can go visit them again :)
Review Source:I just got back from Piercing Experience and I must say that this was by far the best piercing experience I've ever had! Â I forgot the gentleman's name (I think it may be Arthur) but he and Christina were extremely courteous and knowledgeable. Â Christine re pierced my nose and at first I was worried about the scar tissue that was already present but she quickly nixed my worries. I'm from NY and have been getting pierced up since I was about 14 (I'm 27) and this place by far surpassed any experience I've had in the West Village. Â I'm recommending this place to any and everyone from all around.
Review Source:I guess I'll be the first to give this place a bad rating. Yea, they are super clean and have a super sterile process, but for me that does not make up for the bad customer service, unfriendly staff, over priced jewelry, causing me pain, etc.
The guy behind the counter was zero help when looking for the right fit and piece of jewelry. He showed no enthusiasm or eagerness to want to help us out. This is a problem in my mind.
Also had to pay for two earrings when I only needed/wanted one. I was never shown the 1st earring because I guess she assumed it was what I wanted. You know what they say "when you assume... You make an ass out of you and me" so I had to tell her the earring looked bad, because it was way too big on my tiny ear. I felt as though it was taken personally, which was annoying. After refusing to swap the bar out with a smaller one to properly fit my small ears... My boyfriend had to pay for the second earring. Seems like their mistake we had to pay for. Yet another problem in my mind.
The second earring that was put in was a lot closer to what I was looking for initially. I couldn't tell you what size it is or anything bc I was never told or given any info. I think that is unprofessional... Obviously.
Lastly, I have had this piercing for 7 years and it is now hurting/throbbing/swollen like it was right after I got it pierced. This does not seem right. Which is the last thing you would think could or would happen with these "experts" doing what they do best.
Anyway the jewelry selection is good, that's about the only good thing I have to say.
You are running a business. Not running people away from your business, right? Be friendly! Have a staff that's a little more outgoing! Â Learn about customer service, not schooling your customers on rights and wrongs of piercings. I get the passion they have but it's almost weird. I wasn't going to even write a review, but my ear hurts so bad that I felt as though I just had to.
I went here on a weekend to get a navel piercing with my friend. The experience was phenomenal! Piercing Experience is located in a quaint little area of Atlanta, with lots of shops and cafes. It's an older building, but everything was kept very clean.
We went in and met Christina, talked about what we wanted, and picked out our jewelry. She sterilized the bars and her equipment, which took about 30 minutes. We had a bit of downtime to look at all of the interesting jewelry in her shop. It's easy to see that she's very passionate about her profession, even the historical aspects of piercing. She was very friendly and warm, and helped us keep the nerves at bay.
Once everything was out of the autoclave she brought us into a side room. With gloves on, she marked the area to be pierced with a charred matchstick head (not a hot one) while we were standing up, because when it gets marked while lying down the final piercing tends to not look lined up. Then I lied down on the table, and she covered the area with iodine using sterile gauze. After the iodine dried, and with one deep breath from me, she used a needle -- no clamps, just a needle and her steady hands -- to pierce my navel.
If anyone's wondering, I thought it hurt quite a bit... but I've never had any other piercings or tattoos since I got my ears pierced when I was 3. Definitely worse than a pinch or a bee sting -- I felt like I was being stabbed with a needle. The pain unfortunately continued when she put the jewelry through.. BUT, it was worth it!!! I love my navel piercing. It's perfectly placed and perfectly lined up. And I also like that she uses 12g jewelry instead of 14g for navels -- a larger bar allows the healing skin more to hold onto, so there's a lesser chance of migration/rejection/poor healing. However, it's nearly impossible to find 12g navel jewelry in stores, and online the selection is pretty bad. This trend hasn't caught on yet, so expect to either continue buying from Christina or put in 14g jewelry anyway and have the piercing shrink around it.
If you're thinking about getting a piercing, Piercing Experience is the place to to. They are ALL about piercings -- no tattoos -- and Christina did a fantastic job!
I stopped by Piercing Experience after having brunch at The Flying Biscuit last weekend. I decided that I wanted something new in my life, so I went into the store to talk with someone and check out the different piercings that they offer. I want to go into the corporate world, so I wanted something a little more discreet. After talking with Christina, I decided that I would most definitely get a piercing. I went home, came to Yelp for reviews, and read all of the great reviews, so I committed to getting pierced. I went on Saturday at about 3 PM. The whole process probably took no longer than 30 minutes, if that. I was really nervous, so I wasn't paying attention to time. I came in, chose my piercing, signed paperwork, paid, while the needle was being sterilized, I read up on cleaning the piercing, and then got pierced! Christina talked to me the whole time, so I barely noticed the pain. Will definitely refer all my friends here and come back if I decide to get pierced again.
Review Source:Took a trip to PE to get a nose piercing. Â The customer service was awesome. Â Prior to going, I called and spoke to Christina who was calm, professional, and patient. I can ask about a million question when I want to know about something. Â She answered all of them and irritation never crept up in her voice, which I think is wonderful.
I had to wait a little bit and then Christina took me to a front room where she operated (okay...hyperbole in full effect) on me. She let me know what she was doing the whole way through and made me feel at ease. Â I couldn't have asked for a better person to do the job. Â
As others have noted, the place is very clean and calming. Â You can tell the place is old, but they have done a good job covering that up. Â I'm please with my experience here.
I just recently went to Piercing Experience to get my tragus pierced. I was honestly terrified because like so many people, I have heard a lot of horror stories regarding this piercing.
I went on Friday July 15, 2011 and I saw another person come out of the room Christina (the piercer) was in, she had just gotten her nose pierced and she was very excited! So this kind of eased my nerves, however I was still extremely anxious.
After the other person was finished Christina talked to me and told me that the tragus piercing is really nothing to worry about. Her very friendly assistant took my ID and payment and we went back to the room.
At this point my heart was about to fall out on to the floor, however I remained calm and told myself it will be over soon enough. I laid down and she went through the same sanitation techniques that the doctor's office I work at does before they touch patients - this impressed me (as my bellybutton piercer, a tattoo artist in Florida, wasn't this clean). She then put iodine all over my ear and poked it in three spots with a blunt end of something and the one I found least sensitive she pierced.
I told her to warn me and she did, and I felt literally, the slightest pinch then heard a crunch, then slight pinch again and Christina said "you're done." I was in shock and said, "is THAT it??" and she said "yes" and she continued to put the jewelry in.
I seriously will never be worried about the pain of a piercing as long as Christina is the one performing it. I would recommend her and Piercing Experience to anyone. The price is more than what you would pay at a tattoo parlor, however YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. You want excellent service, safety, sanitary and a piercing done by someone who knows what they're doing, come here :)
I took a trip to Piercing Experience one Saturday afternoon after deciding that it was finally time to get some earrings back in my ears. I hadn't worn any for years after I lost my pair one fateful day, and just didn't bother to get another pair. I was thinking if I was going to get them re-pierced, might as well go to a place that has great reviews, right? That's the beauty of logic.
I arrive, and I was a bit surprised by the atmosphere. It was very chill and calming. I was promptly greeted and explained that I wanted to get my ears re-pierced. I was surprised to find out that I might not have to get them re-pierced, and that they are probably still open, and that the holes have just shrunken. Woots! Well let's give this a go.
I picked out my jewelry, and Cristina came and took me in the back to have a look. Very cool chick, she explained everything, and gave me great info. I would definitely come back here again if I ever want to get anything pierced, for the first time :)
This is the only parlor you should visit in Atlanta.
Hands down, end of review.
Okay, no, I feel bad submitting a two-line review. I just have to say that after extensive research, I found absolutely no other shop in the metro area that comes close to the level of experience, professionalism, and quality that Piercing Experience has. They're also practically the most sanitary place on the planet. I love that they don't use clamps, too. Who needs a big ugly bruise over a fresh piercing? I certainly don't.
I won't let anybody else come near me with a (piercing!) needle. I've had seven piercings done by these guys, and I'm thrilled with them all. Absolutely perfect studio!!!
This is the epitome of what a piercing place should be!
Having newly moved to Atlanta from San Francisco, I was worried about what to do when I caught my dermal anchor on something and it  refused to heal back up again. I called and spoke with Christina who was so amazingly professional and knowledgeable. Ultimately, we decided the best thing to do would be to take it out. I was able to be seen right away. I was worried about the process of removing these deeply set attachments but to my surprise she was amazing again! She talked me through the whole process of what she was doing, all while in gloves and mask with instruments that were in sealed a packages. Everything was very clean and I  barely felt whatever magic she did to remove this dermal for me. Everything about the environment here was perfect. I am definitely coming here when I decide what to get next.
It was nothing short of a flawless de-piercing experience.
excellent customer service, unlike the other piercing place that is cheaper and unprofessional in l5p. i didn't feel rushed, and i didn't feel pressured into doing something just for the sake of doing it. christina gives sound advice, is kind and LISTENS unlike the other place that is simply about getting as many people poked as possible. This is where you go not the cheaper place that makes you feel worthless.
Review Source:i was extremely pleased with my piercing experience at...well, piercing experience. Â i met with christina to discuss my inner conch piercing. Â she explained 3 common locations and which would work best for my ear. Â she was very personable and extremely helpful in selecting jewelry and a gauge for my piercing.
the piercing room was clean and the entire piercing process was quick and relatively pain free. Â with jewelry the total for the piercing came to $73 + tip. Â a little pricey, but definitely worth it.
I have had a couple of piercings done at this studio and have bought a lot of jewelry here as well.
When it comes to doctor's offices, hospitals, and piercing studios I am a neat freak. Â If it doesn't look clean I'm not digging it. Â This studio is CLEANER than any other piercing studio I have seen. Â
Kristina (owner, manager, head piercer) is beyond knowledgeable and is willing to teach you the good, bad, and ugly of any piercing you are considering. Â You can find places that are cheaper as far as procedure price and jewelry but with Piercing Experience you get exactly what you pay for.
I have never had any piercings done here. That being said, I totally would just because of their awesome customer service. I went in with a lady that I work with. She went on & on about how great they were to her. So, I guess I am writing this review for Mrs. Sellman who got her ears pierced for the first time at age 65 and absolutely loves all the pierced & tattooed "young people" that work here.
Review Source:I've seen Christina at Piercing Experience several times, and she was just awesome. Last year I got my nose pierced out of the country and was having an absolutely awful time with it. It was really irritated when I came in, and she was incredibly calm and gentle. She answered all my questions without losing patience, which can happen at some other piercing studios. With the titanium jewelry in, the piercing started healing better almost immediately. I just went here for my latest piercing (again with Christina), and it was virtually painless.
It is on the more expensive side, particularly the jewelry, but the quality of service and of the jewelry is well worth the price. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Atlanta for piercings.
I love this place. Â Not only have they pierced me multiple times - but I take my friends there too. Â They are good with advice and very helpful and sterile. Â They like to educate people as well as pierce them. Â I've seen them turn away clients who want an unsafe piercing and who were unwilling to change to a safer location - showing that they are NOT in it for the money.
I recommend this place to everyone interested in learning more about piercing!
I think I'm like the first person to give this place a bad review but I'm sticking to it. I got my nose re-pierced here about a year ago after I had originally gotten it done at another place (i had to get it redone because I took my first one out for a job.) I will admit the interior seemed very impressive and they do seem to know what they're doing but Brian just seemed to take himself way too seriously. He was very condescending about my previous piercing job and went on and on about their sloppy technique. He raved about his sterilization process and bored me to death with his explanations. His whole speech was rehearsed and repetitive and It just really annoyed me. In total, the whole job cost me about $80 and the bar nose studs that they specialize in kept falling out of my nose!
I went back about three times to get it replaced after falling out and once to get a new "discreet" stud for my job. I asked for a clear one (what my boss told me to get) and he spend about 20 minutes arguing with me that the nude color was actually more effective in hiding the piercing. When I disagreed with him he asked me where I worked and then claimed that he has several other customers that work at the same place as me that "swear by" the nude color. Finally, I let him convince me only to go to work the next day and get yelled at by my boss. Afterwards, I went back and insisted on the clear stud which in my opinion (and my boss') did a much better job of looking discreet.
After about 5 times of my bar falling out before healing, I gave up and let my piercing grow back. Six months later I decided to repeat the whole experience at Kolo (down the street in Little 5: they also specialize in piercing-only) and the whole thing only cost about $45.
This is a top-rate shop in Atlanta; the septum piercing I recieved from Brian was virtually painless and was perfectly placed. They are by far the most anal-retentive shop I've visited, but I mean that in a good way. Brian took the time to thoroughly explain how everything was cleaned, what tools he would be using and made me feel like I was in good hands.
Review Source:Please, if you are getting a piercing, go here. Â Brian is extremely knowledgeable and professional - he is also not afraid to tell you if you are caring for your piercing improperly. Â He'll set you straight! Â They go through the motions to show you that the equipment they are using is sterile, and I appreciate that. Â It creates a safe and fun atmosphere. Â This is the only shop i will go to for a piercing.
Review Source:I've been pierced 11 times (4 are now retired) at Piercing Experience and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else for my piercing needs. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. They'll patiently answer any question you might have. They're more than willing to explain anything. The commitment to educating customers is the best I've ever come across.
Three of my cartilege piercings were almost completely painless. How often can anyone say that about a piercing? My favorite piercer is Christina. The whole staff is great, but she's definitely my favorite.
They are on the pricey side, but it's worth it. You're paying for service during the experience and support post piercing. A cheap piercing is not a good piercing.
Edit:
If you go and there's a guy from Texas named Ben there, don't let him pierce you. Firstly, he talked me into getting both traguses done at the same time when I only really wanted one done. When he pierced the left one, it took almost 10 minutes for him to get the jewelry in. I understand it's a tricky part to pierce, but should it really take that long? I got it pierced in April and it's given me trouble ever since. Lastly, it migrated. When I was there this past weekend to get my left rook pierced, Christina took a look at it and said it wasn't looking good. I made the executive decision to remove it, let it heal, and get it redone. Though he is a "friend of the shop", my experience with him was the only negative I've had there.
Also, he's not to be confused with the Ben who works there regularly. The one to avoid is short, heavyset, and doesn't have a septum piercing.
I've had several procedures done at the Piercing Experience, and I recommend it above all else in the city for your piercing pleasure.
The staff are always kind and helpful. They know not everyone has an advanced knowledge of piercing and its culture, so they are always willing to spend copious amounts of time with you answering whatever questions you may have. They even just chat with you, and by the time the procedure is through you feel like you have a new friend. The attitude of the staff goes a long way toward making you feel comfortable, especially if this is a first piercing.
They are also sticklers for hygiene - if they see you even try to touch a healed piercing they will knock your hand off your nose (if) so fast your head will spin. They are also the proud possessors of what I understand is the best sterilization system in the state. Every utensil - the needle, the jewelry, even the gloves - goes through an extensive sterilization in the autoclave. They cut no corners. So, if you get a piercing there and it gets infected, it ain't their fault.
The make of the jewelry they use is also important. They won't use anything that has not been approved for use specifically in body piercing. Brian Skellie and his crew want nothing more than for you to get the results you want, and they seriously go all out to make sure that you have a safe experience.
There are other places you can go around town to get a piercing, but if anyone were to ask me for my recommendation, I would without hesitation tell them to go to the Piercing Experience. It's quick, it's clean, it's fun, and you'll be excited to go back.
I had my nose pierced in another city - it wasn't a total whim (I was planning on it and ended up getting it done sooner than expected on a trip, while my friend had her navel pierced). Anyway, I didn't do my research. The place pierced me with WHITE GOLD. It got infected. I crawled into the Piercing Experience with my tail between my legs (and a red bump on my nose). They were lovely, kind and gentle (except when they were hardass about not touching the piercing - that was toughlove). The place is cleaner than a doctor's office. Not only did they not judge/chastise me for going elsewhere, they fixed it. My jewelry was replaced, the owie was treated and went away and all was well with the world. I've since been back for additional jewelry and have recommended it to many people over the years. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I haven't actually gotten a piercing there - just a fixin'. But, if you're gonna get pierced, I see no reason to go anywhere else.
Review Source:I went here a few years ago and got just a simple ear piercing, and they were the nicest, honest, and cleanest bunch of people I'd ever encountered. Brian was great and the sterilization techniques are top-notch. I highly recommend them as they're completely professional and will make you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible, and will do their best to answer any and every question you might have.
The only downside that I can think of was that we had to wait ages, but it's well worth the wait and I simply wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
I was extremely anxious going in, because let's face it, everyone gets a least a tiny bit jittery when they are about to have a giant needle thrust through their flesh. Well, after much research on the intarwebs, I decided that wanted 6g ear plugs in each ear, and I heard about PE, and knew that this was the place for me. After having previous bad experiences with upper ear piercings that wouldn't heal, and a nipple piercing that was just too painful to keep, I wanted to go to the best, and this place has been called nothing less than the best.
Brian, the head piercer, and my tour guide for the evening of jabbing, was kind, gentle, and didn't make fun of my 100s of questions. In fact, he acted like a real medical professional during my piercing experience. He made it as easy and comforting as possible, and while I am not going to lie and say it didn't hurt (it did), I know that everything he did to prepare me, and take me through the process made it much more bearable.
I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone even thinking about getting pierced, or anyone wanting new jewelry for a current piercing. Brian is extremely professional, and extremely nice. I was highly impressed with the level of professionalism present in the shop, and very excited by the level of detail that is given to things like sterilization and cleanliness.
I am very happy with my experience, and if I ever decide to get anything pierced again, I am going here without a question. I will also be going back to Brian for future jewelry; he only uses stuff that is the best.
I was also impressed with Brian's attention to my questions... that has been a VERY big help for a relatively newbie to piercing.
The Piercing Experience isn't just the best place to get pierced in Atlanta. It's probably the best place to get pierced in America! Brian "There is no pain" Skellie is a genius--this place will pierce you ONLY with materials that are surgically implantable for at least 10 years.
It's like they are going into surgery when they pierce you, too. They sterilize not just the normal stuff, but also the gloves they wear, and they wash their hands up to the elbows! I previously got pierced at Andromeda in St. Mark's Place in NYC--a famous shop--and the service and my confidence in the staff didn't even compare.
I will NEVER go anywhere to get pierced but this place. Seriously, it's that good.
I got my navel pierced here a few years ago. Â I still remember this place very well because of the service and the way they do business. Â They autoclave all of their piercing tools to heat kills any kind of organisms. Â In addition all of their piercing jewelry is of surgical steel grade so the materials are high quality - equivalent to that used in surgical procedures.
They guy that did my piercing was super nice even though I was super nervous.
I am really glad to see they are still around and as popular as ever!
I got my belly button pierced here and it healed faster than any piercing I have ever gotten elsewhere. They only use implantable grade materials in their jewelry so there's never any callusing after the piercing heals (calluses are a sign that your body is rejecting the "implant"). They are as gentle as you can get with regards to putting holes in skin - no clamps or anything. I wish that I had known about them before I got my ears pierced at Claire's six months before then... my naval healed way before my ears did.
Review Source:By far the best "piercing experience" in Atlanta.
I have been to see Brian many times and have never once been dissatisfied. The professionalism and knowledge about piecing and their product is above the board! I used to drive over an hour to get pierced here. The prices are very reasonable. They use a technique of heating the titanium jewlery in a machine to sanitize it. Through out the process they talk to you and explain everything as it is happening. I have never gotten an infection after being pierced here. They only use titanium which is pretty much the closest thing to bone that you could put into your body. I highly reccomend getting pierced here rather than anywhere else. It's worth it!
Don't get infected! My major in school is Microbiology, and I can tell you that the people at The Piercing Experience know what they're doing. They use flawless sanitation practices, and they teach you how not to infect yourself.
I got tragus piercings and never experienced any pain during the piercing and had very little tenderness during the healing process.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and willing and capable to answer questions.
What can I say..this place and staff Rock. Â To me it says something when a place ONLY does Piercings and doesnt do them as a side business only a few days a week. Additionally they stay up on the latest technology for the "customers" comfort. Â Pricing is reasonable and they are concerned with your care and not concerned with just getting more business. Â These guys are to me way ahead of where some of the others "think" they are. I will definatley return. Â I live 40 miles away and would of driven further.
Review Source:This place is great...very helpful and knowledgeable staff, and a great selection of jewelry. Â While I'm probably done getting piercings for the rest of my life, I'll def. be coming back here to get new jewelry and such. Â They will color their titanium jewelry to whatever you like for free, and won't even pierce with stainless steel because of the potential damage. Â If you're looking to get a piercing, def. go here.
Review Source:The only place I will go to get pierced in Atlanta! Â Not to say that there aren't any other great piercers/shops, but, I feel really comfortable at Piercing Experience. Â
Brian and staff are incredibly informed and definitely don't try to pressure you or upsell just to make a few extra dollars. Â They also have a great selection of unique jewelry.
