  I've been going to R&D's for over ten years now. I dont even think of it as a tattoo parlor,I think of them as friends. Just a great group of guys,who happen to be great tattoo artists. No gimmicks,and no bull. Just an authentic NYC style tattoo parlor that does great work and charge great prices. Highly recommended.

  I have been getting tattooed here for numerous years NEVER any issues they are amazing. They are like a 2nd family the quality is superb, what you see is what you get no gimmicks SHTC.

  R&D is a great old school NY shop and have had Richie Fie do a number of tattoos for me, all of which came out awesome. He has done both simple lettering pieces and complicated half sleeve pieces (koi fish & griffin) and his mastery is top notch. He knows his business, AND the history behind it. No, the shop doesn't look like something on a pseudo-reality show about tattooing, and thanks god! Come here to get good tattoos done well by artists that know what they are doing and care about the real tradition of NYC tattooing.

  First I would like to say I am not writing this review to knock either Dave or Richie.  I believe that they are great artists.  My husband got 2 tattoos from Dave and he did a wonderful job.  My problem is with Stevie.  If you go in you will recognize him by his long beard.  I am about to cry just writing this cause honestly a tattoo is on you for life.  Stevie did the worse tattoo on me for someone who says has been tattooing for 9 years.  My story....I wanted a tattoo for my bday on my forearm of the evil eye.  I had the design and everything.  all that needed to be done was just get a stencil of it and tattoo it on my arm, sounds easy right?!  Apparently not for this guy.  He was expecting a client in a few minutes so he squeezed me in.  He put the stencil on my arm and before he started to tattoo me, in walks his client.  He tells him to come on up that it wont take long at all.  I shoulda realized he was rushing but I had faith that he knew what he was doing working amongst great artists like rich or dave.  Long story short, I now have to go to a different tattoo shop to get this tattoo fixed.  He went out of the lines and the eye itself has different size lines and very wobbly lines as well.  Eye is not completely round.  I am devastated with this tattoo that I literally have been wearing long sleeve shirts and no one knows that I have a tattoo on my arm until I get this fixed...Please ppl, DO NOT let Stevie do your tattoo if you do plan on going there.  I will be taking before and after pics and post them up once I get this is fixed.  I am not exaggerating when I write this.  I am seriously disappointed and will NEVER go back to R n D ever again!  I woulda given it no stars but I must say Dave is a great artist and should not get the backlash of someone that has no talent like Stevie who can not STAY WITHIN THE LINES!!  TRUST ME WHEN YOU SEE THE PICS YOU WILL UNDERSTAND.  2 weeks and you will see the pictures....

  I have gotten a few tats at this place and the guys are very nice...prices are reasonable.
  Cons they don't accept credit cards.
  I actually have no plans in returning to this place because too many guys go in there to just simply hangout...its like the local hang out spots for some people...
  Which isn't cool with me.

  Got some more the other week, Dave of course, pics to follow... As usual, the tips are, BRING CASH because they dont take cards...
  
  Dave, Rich, Steve, and Rob are all dedicated tattoo ARTISTS, they really are a funny bunch of guys, very talented and well known in the Glendale area. Go there if you want to have a great experience getting inked, yes of course it hurts, but its well worth the pain...

  You won't find a more honest, professional, clean or comfortable environment.  If you want a great quality tattoo done by a knowledgeable professional, this is where you want to go.  The turn around on staff is practically zero, the prices are reasonable to say the least and the quality is more than anyone could ever ask for. There is a reason they have been around as long as they have and why their customers are so loyal.

  I've been using this crew since before they had the store and Rob was working out of his basement. Rob has since moved (I think, it's been a while since i've popped in). I've used Dave & heard nothing but good about Richie. I will always have love for Dave as he masterfully covered up my X-wife's name. They are a very talented crew, clean & prices are always right. A true no nonsense tattoo shop.
