Went here when it was supposed to be open, the sign said they open at noon and it was after noon and they were closed. That's not how you run a business. If your hours start at noon, you should be open at noon. The couple other times I had been in there, they were very rude, so this just confirms that they will not be getting my business. Irresponsible people shouldn't own businesses. Period.

I called before my appt to see if I could chat with the person who would be doing my permanent makeup application and the chic on the phone refused. She said anything I wanted to talk about would have to happen during the consultation. So I cancelled.

I got my nose pierced here a few years ago and the staff here is very pleasant and knowledgeable. I recently decided to get a new ring so I stopped by. Quick and friendly visit as usual. I've heard great things about their tattoo skills as well.

I love this place!!!! They are very clean and on point. The staff are very kind and explain steps for cleaning, healing, and the process of getting something done. I don't care where I am at in ATL when it comes to my piercing I will come here to get change or to get another piercing. It can be a lil pricey for certain things but for a peace of mind knowing that it is done correctly the price is worth it.

I went to Vice and Virtue last night to get a septum piercing done.
It was a spur of the moment decision and I didn't have very much time to research the process like I normally would with any piercing.
I'm also new to the area, and Vice and Virtue was the first spot that popped up in a google search.

It was very obvious within moments of arrival that I chose the right location. The store is amazingly clean and bright...loaded with healthy thriving houseplants (you KNOW you're in a good spot if the plants are happy) ... and Kyle was super friendly and accommodating with all my questions...Took extra time to explain the aftercare procedure and talk with me about what to do after my septum heals.

Mandolynne did the piercing, and was super kind and gentle with the whole process. Nothing felt rushed or chaotic. She helped me choose the correct jewelry...explained the advantages between gauges, styles and placement.
All the equipment was sterilized in front of me, with discussion about how it was done and why.
The piercing itself barely hurt and was over within minutes. Today I feel a little sore, but nothing in comparison to other the piercings i've had done.
They give you..yes, GIVE YOU, the cleansing product you need to use (which is just sea salt in clean water, but still..normally I'd have to go buy all kinds of crazy stuff)
the price of the piercing and jewelry was very reasonable.

I've had several piercings at other studios, but this was hands down the best experience I have ever had. I'd totally go back. Love Love Love!! :)

Stopped in today to get my naval piercing switched out since I had some bad trauma to the piercing recently carrying a heavy heater up 3 flights of stairs, and didn't want to handle it myself. Turns out, I ended up having a not-so-great type of jewelry, so bought a new one, and Mandalynne (spelling) switched it out for me.

While I was there, I spontaneously decided to get a piercing done that I've been thinking about for a while now, and it was after Mandalynne told me it wasn't too painful. So, I just went ahead, and did it. The piercing didn't hurt AT ALL. I was pretty shocked. There is a bit of a throbbing feeling afterwards, but overall, Mandalynne made me feel VERY comfortable, and talked to me the entire process I was getting my piercing done. She swapped out my naval piercing in like a millisecond, too! She makes you feel very comfortable, and eases any nerves you have about getting a piercing done.

The guy helping me out in the lobby was super helpful and patient with me as I decided for the best jewelry that I wanted. I took FOREVER, but my naval ring is super cute now :D haha.

They use the autoclave system to sterilize the jewelry, and they show you "proof" that it's been sterilized. Roughly, the new piercing, the jewelry, the naval ring, plus tax, plus 15% tip, I paid close to $100, but it's well worth it.

I'm thinking of getting some more piercings done now with this place due to such a great first experience here. :]

Here is a list of places I've been pierced:

    - a hippie store, where patchouli and coke spoons were displayed next to the piercing "chair" (navel)
    - with a gun on South Street in Philly (nostril)
    - a Texaco bathroom in New Jersey (tongue)
    - my childhood home's bathroom (various ear)
    - tattoo/piercing shops in upstate New York, South Jersey (a few other places)
    - Virtue & Vice in Atlanta

The best experience, far and away, was Virtue & Vice. I know you're probably shocked that it beat the Texaco bathroom, but I can assure you that the standards of cleanliness and professionalism were worlds above.

To make a long story short, I decided I wanted to get my rook pierced. It's been years since my last piercing (six) and I've taken all of them out. I headed into Virtue & Vice because it's near my house and I loved how detailed and informative their site was. It seemed like a safe place to go. Now that I'm a grown-up, sketchy shops just won't cut it. The guy at the counter was incredibly helpful and nice. He guided me through choosing jewelry (I went with a curved bar for better healing) and held up a couple of different sizes to my ear when I couldn't decide which gauge to go with. Between that and his thorough aftercare speech, I felt confident that I was going to get a great piercing.

April did my piercing and she was awesome. Completely professional, but friendly enough to make me feel at home. She was totally cool with my nervous rambling and dumb jokes, and explained every step of the process as she went along. The piercing itself was fast and barely even hurt. After the jewelry was in, I could see that the placement was perfect. A few days later, my rook seems to be doing well. I'm so happy I finally got it done and was pleased with every step of the experience. If I feel the piercing itch again, I know I'll be back to see April.

A friend of mines who got her tragus pierced at Virtue & Vice told me about this place to get my helix pierced. Mandalynne was my piercer and she was amazing. This was my first time having a piercing with a needle rather than a gun, so I was a bit antsy, but the staff and piercers do amazing jobs to calm you down, and talk to you like you're just one of their good pals.

The shop is very clean and the staff is very friendly and informative from pricing, to piercing after-care.

As for prices, they range from what you would like to get pierced. I believe my helix was around $15 and you pay for whatever jewelry you would like at different price ranges.

They also help with "fixing" other piercings that have gone bad, which is nice to know.

Virtue & Vice REALLY took care of me. If you're getting a piercing for the first time, this is a great place to go!

I went to Virtue & Vice today to have my nostril pierced. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful with the selection of the jewelry and very thorough in the education of their clients. The private piercing rooms are clean and brightly lit. The customer is shown proof of the sterilization of the piercing equipment and your jewelry.

My piercer, Mandalynne, is made of Awesome!  She was very nice yet professional but also like hanging out with your sister!  She worked very carefully with the placement so that I would have the option to wear a ring in the future if I wanted, not just a stud (unless I wanted a big ring which I didn't).  She explained every step before she did it - there were no surprises.  I was so happy with the end result!

If I had to list one complaint, it would be that the shop was out of the bezel mounted opal in the size that I wanted.  I got a prong mounted opal instead which I am very happy with.

I would absolutely recommend this piercing studio to anyone, from newbies to the already-initiated.

I went to Virtue & Vice after doing extensive research online for my first piercing. I called prior to going to get any information that I might need ahead of time. They were very helpful on the phone and made sure that I knew what I needed to know about my chosen piercing.

The parking lot is clean and adjacent businesses looked good (nothing sketchy). The shop was very clean and professional in appearance without being stuffy. The certifications and courses of study for the employees were all displayed on the wall. I was greeted by an employee who took my information and had me fill out a little paperwork before meeting April. Once April was available, she took some measurements and advised her co-worker of what I could wear in my piercing. For a first-time piercee, I felt very at ease with the process. He showed me various styles and sizes that I could select and was able to give insight about how each would work for me. After discussing my aftercare procedures in detail, I was given an aftercare goodie bag (with several pamphlets from the Association of Professional Piercers) and was ready for April.

April was awesome. She was very accommodating and took the time to explain every step of the procedure. She answered every question that I had. When I felt a little woozy after the piercing (a silly anxiety issue from my childhood), she let me lay down and got a cold pack for my head. She then spent that time talking about other subjects to help my anxiety ease. At no point did I ever feel that she was going to hurry me out or do anything at all that wasn't going to help me have the best possible piercing experience.

I would recommend V&V for anyone getting a piercing and especially their first piercing experience. I will definitely go back.

I can truly say that I am 100% satisfied with my experience at Virtue & Vice and with April as a true piercing professional.

    The short version:
    ***Very Professional
    ***Fast
    ***Very Friendly
    ***Very Clean
    ***Very Helpful
    ***Inexpensive/affordable

    The long version:
On the surface, I am not one who looks like he frequents piercing/tattoo shops. All my ink is covered and I went to V&V right after work on a Monday afternoon. I mention this because some of the other reviews mentioned a "cooler than thou" vibe from the employees, but I didn't get a bit of that at all.

I was greeted by a guy behind the counter (can't recall his name) who was very welcoming and helpful. I wanted my ear lobes pierced and it's been about 15 years since I took out my last piercings. He asked me great questions and helped me pick out the gauge size and type of jewelry that was perfect. I went with 8g matte black glass studs. It wasn't too busy, but there were a few other people in there chatting. We talked a bit about the Athens location because I was a customer there for my tattoos and I had met Bethra briefly when my wife got her nose pierced. While I waited a young lady came in needing help with a piercing done at another Atlanta piercer; she was not happy with the outcome from what I could tell. April, the piercer there at the time, was very helpful to her and in giving her advice she did not disparage the other company/piercer at all, which I have run into at other shops in the past.

The guy behind the counter explained the autoclave and safety measures they take, which I am familiar with, but it was good to hear that their focus is on educating those that don't know about each step of the experience. He walked me through the after care procedures and got everything set up for April, who would be doing the actual piercing. After a brief wait for the sterilization, April called me back.

April was awesome. She was professional and informative about each step of the process. Even though I was just getting my ear lobes pierced, she took the time to line them up perfectly and made sure I liked the location. She joked with me about having a hard time getting them even due to my somewhat bushy beard; she has a very affable personality and a great smile. The actual piercing went fast and she got the jewelry in place quickly. One side bled a bit and she made sure to take the time to get it stopped before letting me walk out. Once again, she reviewed the aftercare instructions, made sure I didn't have any questions or concerns, and then it was all over. The whole experience was CLEAN, QUICK, PROFESSIONAL, and ENJOYABLE.

If I ever get anything else pierced, I will definitely be back and I recommend them highly!

This place is amazing! This is my second time coming here and having April do my piercing. The people at the front counter are nice and treat you with respect. I only have 8 tattoos and 1 dermal anchor on my chest and they didn't treat me any different than anyone else that's covered in tattoos and piercings.

My first time here was a few months ago to get a dermal anchor piercing on my chest. April was great at explaining everything to me step-by-step. And today I drove from Kennesaw to get my nipples pierced. Again, April was awesome and very patient with me! I was nervous and chattering like a squirrel, but she answered all my questions and helped me calm down. Everything down to even telling me exactly when she would pierce so I was ready for the sting.

I will never go anywhere else or send anyone anywhere else but to this place. The cleanliness and great customer service makes it worth the drive. The prices are also very reasonable. It's important to trust the place you're going to, especially when you're getting a hole put in somewhere on your body. Can't juggle with that! A sterile environment is a must!

I'm in love with my nipple rings!!!! My birthday is August 8th...happy birthday to me!

I went here to get my cartilage pierced. I am someone who gets very nervous and I'm obsessive about sanitation. They showed me the sanitation strip they used so I knew everything was clean. The lady who did my piercing was. Super friendly and talked me through the whole thing. Great place!

I've been wanting a helix piercing for quite a while, so today I finally got up the nerve to go. After tons of research, Virtue & Vice seemed like the place to do it.

First, I was blown away by their selection of jewelry. Anything you could imagine! I immediately regretted letting my gauges close back to normal, but even then they had gorgeous pieces for even small gauge, including 14g.

Second, the place is clean, clean, clean. Nothing sketchy going on here! Very welcoming and both April and the guy behind the counter were super polite and non-judgmental. This is not a Cooler.Than.Thou type of place.

April did the piercing. Her taste and artistry were apparent in the placement - it was exactly what I'd been hoping for. She understood the look I was trying to achieve and achieved it, all the while engaging in lively, friendly conversation.

They gave me a lovely after-care package with everything needed to make sure I heal well and clearly explained the expected timeline and stages of healing.

All in all, I loved this experience, and if I ever get another piercing, you know where I'll be going!

I love this place. April is awesome--very professional and expert at what she does. I followed the aftercare she gave me for my piercings and they healed up quickly and with zero problems.

If only my job would let me have visible piercings, I would be back for more. Damn corporate America :(

P.S.- I also have gotten tattooed at Timeless next door and they rock too. Ask for Jen Bunny.

Great lil' piercing shop on Cheshire Bridge. The staff is knowledgeable and no-nonsense. Yes, they are a little "too cool for school", but what did you expect? You're not coming here for the customer service anyway. They will do a great job, and will school you well on caring for your piercing.

Good selection of jewelry as well. I have gone back to purchase all of my plugs from them. Can't seem to find anywhere else with a good selection for 6-gauge. Plus, there's a super hot red head that works there that's fun to look at.

Pricey but probably the most sanitary piercing shop in Atlanta. They over and beyond for sure.

Positive Feedback: (1) The guy behind the counter was patient and extremely friendly. (2) They were very very thorough with their rules, safety, and sanitation. They were very clear to explain to me everything I needed to know AND more. (3) The lady took be back to a room and helped put in my gauges and new nose ring. She was very gentle and quick.

Negative Feedback: (1) During my visit there was a blond lady who seemed annoyed at first of my visit, as if she thought I was only looking and not going to purchase anything, which still shouldn't deserve the cold shoulder. Then again, I expect social customer service where ever I go, but life doesn't work like that. (2) It almost seemed unnecessary for the woman to put in the jewelry for me in the back room like that, I didn't have much money but felt like I needed to tip. They fully sanitized the jewelry in a machine and everything, it was a little more than I thought was going to be done, but they over and beyond for sure.

So I went with my boyfriend  to get my tragus pierced yesterday. Luckily, we got there just in time before a crowd of people walked in. But they are just plain awesome there. So patient and extremely knowledgeable! My boyfriend was constantly asking her questions about things he was curious about (seeing as he has no experience with piercings) but she was just patiently answering everything. It was so nice, considering how busy they were. Everything was such a great experience, I will definitely be going back if ever I need another piercing or any type of jewelry.

I went here for a nose piercing.  I called first to ask a few questions and was satisfied with the answers so I headed there right after the conversation.  When I went in I was greeted warmly and stated that I wanted to have my nose pierced.  I was asked for my i.d. and afterwards told to pick out my jewelry.  I immediately found what I envisioned (a small silver stud).  I was shown a strip that currently had a white line and was told the line would be black once my jewelry had been properly sanitized.  I was given a pamphlet with a packet of sea salt and also a thorough explanation on how to care for my piercing area and things to avoid.  I felt comfortable with the explanation and was ready to roll.  I asked if it would hurt lol and I was told that it's not too bad because it's over so fast but also that everyone's tolerance for pain is different.  I was also told that many people's eyes water immediately afterwards.  April did my piercing and was phenomenal.  She was also vice president of the APP for 3 years (Association of professional piercers). When she called for me to come back, the room was very sterile.  It actually reminded me of a doctor's office so I felt great about that.  She immediately greeted me saying hello again (She was who spoke to me on the phone), she showed me the sanitation strip which was now black and put on latex gloves.  She explained everything before she did it and put me at ease because I was a bit nervous.  I haven't had a piercing since I was a child and had my ears pierced.  She stated that she has an idea of where piercings should go on her clients and allows discussion if they want it in another location.  She marked where she wanted to put the piercing on my nose and told me to look in the mirror.  I was happy with the location so was ready to get the show on the road.  April sanitized my nose, put a tube in my nostrils to keep the needle from going further than it needed to and did the piercing.  She didn't use a gun, she just stuck my nose with a needle.  The actual jab was very quick but it did hurt a little, my eyes also watered which was expected.  A few seconds afterwards I was fine.  Overall, my experience was great and I would highly recommend!  I'm kind of bummed that I can't go swimming this summer (The chlorine is a no-no for fresh piercing) but I can look cute poolside!

I visited Virtue and Vice after reading so many positive comments on Yelp and also looking at their fabulous website.
When we arrived, the owner and the front desk girl were there and although informative seemed a little brusque. It was a little offputting. I even considered leaving at first.
Cleanliness is of great importance to this establishment and they go out of their way to assure you that you are getting the most careful sterile treatment possible.
The aftercare information was perfect, and the little care package that they give to you is fabulous. The genuine care by the owner, although not outwardly displayed, is definelty apparent in this aftercare package.
The piercing experience was so professional and quick. I couldn't believe how easy and minimally painful it was. Mandolynne is a piercing goddess!

For some reason I cannot begin to explain, I can get almost giddy at the prospect of 2-3 hours of being tattooed, but I am always super nervous when going to get pierced. I psych myself out, thinking it will hurt way worse than it actually will, and I always seem to forget that the pain is over in a microsecond. so I felt like a wreck walking into Virtue & Vice on Tuesday.

I was pierced by April on a recommendation and had a really good experience. I went in not 100% what I wanted between two different piercings, and after a quick consultation to see if I was anatomically suited for each, she helped me weigh the pros and cons from a professional point of view, healing time, likelihood of the piercing to migrate, etc.  She made sure I knew exactly what she was about to do, and went over healing instructions with me in detail. She made the experience of having a needle shoved through a very sensitive part of my body almost pleasant.

The shop was spotless, and they have a great selection of jewelry, all at pretty reasonable prices, it seemed.
    I'll definitely be back!

Mandalyn (sp) did my first-ever body modification and she was amazing

the downside that i experienced was that a mom had brought her 2 daughters (maybe 15 years old?) and their friends in to get belly button piercings and the kids were bouncing around, being kids - but this isn't really the place for that.  they picked a few of the piercing books and made really obnoxious comments about the pierced genitalia pictures - and the mom wasn't in control of them.

for piercing and tattooing, that isn't the atmosphere i look for

the shop itself and the ladies working there were flawless, knowledgeable and so helpful

Over the years, my friends and I have had many, many piercings done here.  Because of all the lady piercers, I've felt comfortable enough to have my hoo-ha-ish area and my nips done both ways (although I am now sadly metal-free).

Many of my friends also went there to get various naughty parts poked with sterile needles - we kind of made an outing of it each time.  And if no one got their tongue pierced on that particular outing, we would go out to eat afterward.  Prince Alberts, nipples, hoods, bellybuttons, tongues, various ear piercings, nose . . . we did it all. And the staff there was always, always knowledgable and gave great advice, and they run an exceptionally clean shop.  Going here actually made me consider piercing as a career choice.

I miss good ol' Virtue and Vice. Going there always brightened my day. Maybe I need another ear piercing of some sort . . .

I've gotten about 10 piercings at virtue & vice-it's the only shop I'll go to. Bethra and April are always super helpful; they are happy to answer any questions I have or check anything that's still healing. I met Mandolin last Saturday & she pierced a couple of my friends while April was helping me.

My only complaint- More than once they've started the autoclave and it ran out of water. This was after waiting in line for other people to get pierced. I was just there a lot longer than I've wanted to be sometimes.

But I love v&v, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Everyone that works there is bitchin and professional. If you want the most professional, highest quality, and best pricing in Atlanta-go to virtue and vice.

I would definitely recommend V&V for their jewelry selection, helpfulness and professionalism.

    So, here's the thing....

As stated in my previous reviews about piercing shops, I refuse to go to shops that don't have APP certified piercers, I think its important that the people I trust to service my body modification needs be educated and have a certain amount of bedside manner.

I headed to V&V after being referred by a friend, I've visited the shop a handful of times looking for specialty jewelry. The staff is great, very patient and more than knowledgeable about jewelry and procedures and aftercare.

I was preparing for surgery and needed various non metal retainers for all of my piercings, while I had most of what I needed I was having a hard time finding silicone plugs for my large gauge inner conches, I called V&V, was assured they had what I was looking for, so I headed in, they were beyond helpful.

There is ample parking and the shop is super easy to find, its in a clean strip that shares space with a tattoo shop and a few other businesses.

V&V is clean, organized, and the prices are more than reasonable, its not your typical seedy piercing joint, the staff at V&V are taking painstaking efforts to make sure they're professional, I really appreciate shops like V&V and I'm glad I've found this little gem in the Atlanta area.

This is my shop. So years ago at the tender age of twenty I got my first nostril ring. A few weeks later I decided I wanted my mother to speak to me so I took it out. Then about a year ago i got my nostril re-done which makes me very happy and then earlier tonight I went in and had my nipples pierced by Bethra. It was amazing it didn't hurt actually quite the opposite plus she told me that I have gotten all of the painful piercings out of the way so in 6-8 months when I'm all healed I will probably go back for more. There is nothing better than the feeling of metal going through your flesh. I feel so great. not only that but they had a deal on rings so my rings only cost 8 dollars each. Great deal.

Love this place.  The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. I went here for the first time in the midst of a mini crisis several years ago.  Shortly after getting my nose pierced I decided I wanted to change out my jewelry.  Having no experience with this, I took out the stud I had my nose pierced with and tried to put in the new jewelry.  This was quite a disaster.  It started bleeding everywhere and I was panicking about what to do. I looked up the closest piercing place to me and Virtue and Vice came up. I went in there and they immediately helped me get the new jewelry in and taught me how to appropriately change out the stud.  They didn't charge me a thing (of course I gave the girl a tip) and I went on my way.

Oh my!!! Carolyn is a little risk taker ;-)

I've wanted to get a second piercing for the past 5 years. Originally I planned on getting it done on my birthday but after much debate, I changed my mind. Saturday rolls around and I say "I only live once" and head out to Virtue and Vice.

The staff was very friendly, the place was very clean with the proper documentation out for me to see, that this place not only passed inspection but also is a legitimate business. I am very happy with the outcome, the prices were good with a large selection of jewelry to pick from. I would recommend this place.
