I left this place a little over an hour ago and decided to write a review about my awesome experience. My tattoo artist was Joey. He was super chill, he made a lot of good suggestions and my tattoo came out better than I imagined. Although I didn't get what I intended on getting when I first arrived, I am very satisfy! I will definitely be coming back in the near future.
Review Source:Ryan is amazing! I went in with a rough idea of what I wanted and he turned it into an amazing work of art. He's a great guy and really easy to work with, but the thing that was most impressive was his attention to detail. He researched each part of the design to make sure everything was put together and colored just right. Highly recommended.
Review Source:I was feeling a little spontaneous today. I was tired of my wedding ring always getting dirty at work so I decided to get a tattoo. I walked in and was greeted by Mel. He was super friendly and welcoming. I was pretty particular on the size and where I wanted my tattoo (star with 3 dots on each side). It had to be small enough and centered exactly so if I do decide to wear my wedding ring it would cover it completely. He took his time sketching and made sure it was perfect. After about 20mins. with minimal to no pain my tattoo came out perfectly. I will def be back to see Mel if I decide to get another tattoo.

At first when I walked in with my friends, I wan't sure what we were going to get. Joey greeted us (very cute by the way) and helped us figure out exactly what we wanted. He was so patient and nice.
He was nervous about hurting me because i wanted the tattoo around my nipple. But it came out clean and pain free. he didn't make it awkward that i was exposing myself in the shop.
My friend was nervous because it was her first time and she was getting a big piece done. He chatted with us the whole time and just seems like a cool guy, all while doing some awesome art!
I'll be back for sure.
I called in right around closing time on a Sunday and spoke with Mel about getting coming in. He was more than happy to wait for me and did a GREAT job with the lettering! Moreover, Mel was very courteous and thorough throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend Mel to anyone and everyone who reads this.

I walked in because some friends recommended this place. Joey helped out me and my friend, and literally devoted his entire afternoon and evening sketching our drawings and making sure we were at ease. It was my first time getting one, and I chose my ribs...really painful, but I felt as comfortable as I possibly could. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to get a tattoo and will be sure to come back if I decide to get another/get any touch ups!

'RYAN WILBURN'
I recently had a memorial portrait surrounded and framed with beautiful roses completed by a truly gifted artist Ryan. He had every little detail down to the pearls around her neck to each wave in her hair. Â The portrait looks exactly like the photo. Â He is multi talented and can do just about anything. Â He is one of the best artist I have ever worked with. Â He is currently working on a lower left arm sleeve with an awesome skull with a background of various roses. Â
I am stopped everywhere I go and asked about my beautiful tattoo's. Â I would refer anyone who wants a "quality" tattoo to Deans Headquarters. Â You get what you pay for!! Â Don't bother if you are not looking for quality! Serious people wanting a piece of "ART" by "ARTISTS" should come on by!
Best cover up ever!!! Â Seventeen years ago I got an extremely important but EXTREMELY UGLY blob of a tattoo. Â I always wanted to get it covered but each time I showed it to an artist they cringed. Â
I showed it to Mel at Dean's and I told him why it was important. Â Instead of looking perplexed, he exploded with positive energy and vision. Â He took the horrible tat I had and transformed it into everything I originally wanted it to be and more!
The interesting thing about Mel's work is how well he listened beyond my words.  He  listened to what I was trying to say but couldn't.  I didn't want to specifically run down five or six specific things to make it symbolic.  But I didn't have to either.  By the time Mel was done he captured everything I was feeling and put it on my skin.
Mel's work is excellent  It was fun sitting in a shop with a group of real street artists who are humble, confident, and super creative.
I highly recommend Ryan Wilburn! I have been looking for a tattoo artist I could call my own for years and I am so happy I found Ryan! He has the ability to bring my ideas to life in a way that I never thought possible! His line work is beautiful and use of color is extraordinary. I receive so many compliments on his work on a daily basis. I plan on getting work from him for years to come.
Review Source:This shop was first introduced to me almost two years ago now, and from the get everyone was super friendly, laid back, yet still very professional. These guys take their craft very seriously and can work with nearly any idea or thought that comes to mind. Everything is clean and the shop's look is great as well.
The artist that is currently working on my full sleeve is Ryan, and let me tell you he does some of the best work I have ever seen. He has done an amazing job so far in the detail and scenery of my tattoo (if you want to see it so far, it is my main picture).
Everyone else in the shop does fantastic work as well, Mel and Joey. Mel inks my best friend and has adapted to doing anything. Another nice this is that they all do other artistic work on the side, Mel does a lot of airbrush/canister painting, Joey does a lot of sketching and coloring, and Ryan does a lot of painting. So these guys are true artists.
In the end this is the spot to get work done at in the city. Period!
As a side note I hope Dean pulls through with everything and it all goes well. Best wishes Dean!
Best tattoo experience I've had so far. Gave Ryan an idea of something I wanted, and he delivered way more then I expected. Couldn't be happier with the end result. Â Super chill, creative, and easy to work with. Kills it with the colors! I look forward to getting more work done by him.... I highly recommend Ryan if you take a visit to the ocean side...(or even if your in the hood) He is worth the trip.
Review Source:First met Ryan like two years ago when I went in with my huzby to inquire about getting a koi fish... Â honestly it was supposed to be an inquiry for me but it ended up with huzby walking out with a dope ass black n grey koi fish tattoo same day lol....
Fast forward to a few months ago, I finally decided to get a piece done on my arm and the only artist that crossed my mind who I wanted to go to was Ryan. This is my 4th tat but by far the biggest piece and I couldn't imagine going to a different artist especially after seeing his work. He didn't disappoint, that's for sure. I asked for a koi, with some water and cherry blossoms, to be put on my left arm like a 3/4 sleeve and to make it look more on the "feminine " side. After he drew it up, i was blown away, it exceeded my expectations. After a few sessions, it was complete (for now, there's always room for adding on in the future, etc) but I'm more than satisfied with the outcome. My hubby n I got to know Ryan more as we saw him a few times already and he's just an overall cool ass dude. Very mellow and hella easy to talk to.
I'm already itching to get started on another piece and no doubt he is gonna be the one I go to for that. I've gotten many compliments about this tattoo and super happy with it! MAHALO RYAN!!!

My very first tattoo; a half sleeve done by the legend himself: Dean Dennis. Amazing work with deep colors that just pop out. I ended up getting my other half sleeve done by him as well. Pure epicness.
This shop by far has some of the most talented artists in Northern California. Ryan, Mel, and Joey are all skilled and can take on practically any style of art that you want inked on your body. The atmosphere is great, there's no pressure, and everyone that works there is laid back and chill to talk to.
So if you're wanting to get some quality work done, hit this shop up, you won't regret it!
KILLED IT!! ryan -tattoo artist extraordinaire- wilburn, absolutely killed it and i ephasize artist. Â i had my first two tattoos done by this guy and i couldn't be more stoked about the job he's done. Â dude's super professional, laid backed, and you can definitely tell that he is totally into his work. Â i have print on both my tattoos and he's definitely got skills in the print aspect of tattoos. Â when i went in for my first tattoo he was great about offering suggestions on ways he thought it might look better. Â ultimately, i went with my original idea for the first one but he was totally chill about it. Â on the second, however, i went in with another idea but this time i had to stray away from it and take his suggestions. Â he turned it from a "copy and paste" look and made it more natural. Â this guy does great work and i would definitely recommend him for any of your tattoo needs.

Â regardless, he was super friendly.
