I'm reviewing this based on a body piercing so if you want info about tats keep scrolling. I came here about a year ago after purchasing a yelp deal for $35 for a belly button piercing. It was a last minute decision that worked out because they are open late and I was going on a cruise the next day (probably not the smartest decision to get pierced the night before a cruise just in case it got infected or something but whatever I did it). I called before purchasing the deal just to make sure I could use it that night and they said I could just come in. The place was clean and they let me use their computer to get into my email and print the deal which was nice because at this time of night staples was closed. I took off a half  star mainly because I had to wait like 30 mins when there was nobody else in there! So I don't know what the piercer was doing back there. But anyway everything was clean, all the tools came out of the blue sterilized packages. Of course it hurt but I took it like a gangster and afterwards he had me stand to check it. He said it was a little crooked which I didn't even notice and he said he would redo it but making a new hole 2mm to the left was not worth the pain. I got suckered into buying a saline spray which I ended up forgetting at home so I couldn't use it on the cruise. Oh and then on the train I had this huge blood stain on my shirt which pissed me off because I didnt have a jacket and had no idea that it was gonna bleed 20 mins later but expert piercer man should have warned me (there goes the other half of a star). But a year later all is good. I changed it a few months ago. It was kinda hard to get out thought I'd have to go back and have him cut it off but a friend helped me out. I'd def go back if I ever wanted any piercing especially since they offer deals so often.
Review Source:I purchased a groupon for this place that was $199 for 3 hours of tattooing. I was only in the area for 2 weeks, so I made sure that I had an appointment before my departure date by going in twice and calling at least 7 times. Finally I secured an appointment with the receptionist (whose name I really should have written down) and was scheduled with Austin, on Thursday at 5 pm. I show up at 4:40ish - and the artists that were there seemed a bit confused by the appointment time. They got Austin on the phone, and the first thing he had said was that he doesn't work on Thursdays but he could work on me Sunday.
He was really friendly, and apologetic for the confusion - but the reason my situation was so frustrating, is because I live in another country, and was leaving that next day. Obviously Sunday wouldn't work for me which is why I had done so much to ensure I could get my work done before my flight. Now I have $199 groupon bucks, which is clearly not what I wanted.
The other artists in the store were trying best they could to be helpful which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 1. Brandon who works there had mentioned when I get back in the area he'd do the work that I wanted. I'm happy to hold him to that and give a 5 star rating once it happens!
My experience with Addiction NYC definitely corroborated its  solid reputation as one of the best in Manhattan. In June 2011, I had my navel improperly pierced at an establishment near my school, and it ended up rejecting. I decided to get it redone in July 2012 at Addiction NYC because of the Yelp deal. Austin did it and did a great job, and was really professional and patient with my incessant questioning. Unfortunately, the scar from my last attempt hadn't fully healed and it rejected again. I wasn't able to receive a refund but when I had it removed, Rob graciously offered a small discount when my navel was fully healed and ready for a third attempt. I just had it re-done and am once again pleased with my experience.
Rob and Austin are both true professionals, and I am convinced from my experience that this place really cares about its customers and providing them quality service. I'm glad I came here for my (re-)piercing(s) and I highly recommend anyone else in NY to do so as well.
I don't know why I didn't like this place. Maybe because my personality is different from the staff, but my friend got her piercing here. Like another reviewer said, the front of the place is a store filled with bongs and it isn't until you get to the back, is where your piercing and tattooing is done. I personally didn't like this place and wouldn't come back. I felt like the piercer hated his job with his incredibly dull and lazy voice and I felt like he was giving an attitude when he told us about the forms my friend had to fill out. I guess as long as my friend was happy with her piercing, then everything is fine.
Review Source:I had a great experience with Rob yesterday. He was quick and professional during my piercing. Only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is when I was walking in a girl wqs smoking a cigarette in the doorway. Then another employee lit and smoked a cig right there in the shop. I think that is very inconsiderate and in NYC maybe illegal. I hate smoke. The end.
Review Source:I got my first tattoo here back in April. I picked the font I wanted on their computer and waited a few minutes for the artist to be ready. It was all done in less than fifteen minutes, and looks great to this day. It has not faded at all (and it's a foot tattoo) and healed really well.
They were a little confusing with their prices though - minimum prices, etc. The guy sort of haggled with me. Still ended up paying a little more than I could have elsewhere - but for something that's on your body permanently, who cares really, because I am very happy with my tattoo. It's exactly what I wanted and I love it.
They have some really friendly and nice employees working here; I got my first cartilage done here a few years ago. The process with quick and painless, the guy who did the piercing was pretty professional.
I came back today because I had a 16 gauge stud that wouldn't fit in my 20 gauge lobe piercing, the guy got it in for me with a taper and when I asked how much I owed him he said "What ever you want to pay, free if you want".
I decided to gave him a 15.
I'm only in New York for a few months and I wanted to get something commemorating my time here. I decided to go to Addiction because of their pricing. So I walked in around 3 in the afternoon and it wasn't busy at all.
The front of the store has a bunch of bowls and bongs, but don't let that phase you. The back of the store where they do tattoo and piercings is nice and clean. Tom was there and he was super friendly about helping pick out a font for the lyrics I was getting done. He took the time to let me know what exactly it would like look, how it would feel, etc.
This was my first tattoo, so I didn't know what to expect so I appreciated that Tom was patient with me. He sat me down and showed me all the tools in the sterilized packaging so he could not only assure me that everything was clean but to show me what to look for if I should ever get another tattoo somewhere else. The foldable chair I was in was a little uncomfortable, but the tattoo only took 20 minutes. He bandaged it, gave me some aftercare lotion and washing instructions, and I was done! It cost about $220 to get the lyrics with a couple of rose petals, which is a little more than I wanted to pay but Tom did an excellent job so I was happy.
I waited a couple weeks before reviewing to see how it would heal, and it looks beautiful. I love my tattoo and I really liked the service there. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because all the weed paraphernalia in the front of the store made it look trashy. It's not the most beautiful tattoo parlor in the world. Also a couple girls came in looking for a tattoo consult while I was getting my tattoo done and the other tattoo artist was kind of a jerk towards them.
I'm sure there are a lot better tattoos in NYC, but if you're looking to get something small, quick and moderately priced then this is the place to go. Ask for Tom, he's great.
Got a piercing done here. Their cleanliness and experience is great, but they lost 2 stars for the poor customer service. They gave me a half-assed quote over the phone, so I came in thinking I only had to pay half of what they ended up charging me. I also had to keep prompting my piercer for info, and I was not even given advice on piercing after care...
Review Source:This may be my inexperience rather than the fault of Addiction, but I got some ear piercings here a few years ago. Â I got there in total -- a second cartilage piercing, and earlobes. Â
The woman was professional and quick, and the experience as a whole was fine. Â I asked about the kind of jewelry they used, and she reassured me they used high quality jewelry with trace amounts of nickle. Â Turns out I have a nickle allergy that caused reactions on my neck, which only went away after I removed the 3 ear piercings a few months later. Â Those piercings have now closed. Â I'm contemplating getting them re-done, but I'd go somewhere else where they only use stainless steel jewelry for piercings.
I got an anchor/starfish tattoo on my foot on my birthday recently (10/10). Â I had went in 2 weeks in advance to speak with someone about it since this was my first tattoo and I have no design in mind and was quite nervous.
Angela was the one who I spoke with and she was very nice and we connected right after we found out we share the same birthday. Â Unfortunately she won't be able to do my design since she's taking a day off on her birthday but she recommended me to her co-worker and promised I'll get a good discount since it's my birthday.
One the day of, I arrived a bit early and Nick was busy with a customer. Â However, he quickly greeted me and wished me a Happy Birthday before I said anything. He was very patient with me and worked on the design with me until I was satisfied. Â After we decided on the design, he told me it will be $150 - a good price considering it was suppose to be $180 and with coloring.
I had a whole posse with me (around 6 people) and the store was very accommodating and Nick was very patient with me during the whole process. Â I wasn't sure on where I wanted the design - either on the foot or by the ankle and he put the stencil on both areas to help me better decide.
During the process, he noticed my pain but he would soothe me and tell me it'll be better soon. Â I'm really glad I did it at Addiction. Â I don't have any problems and while it's still scabbing (it has only been 2 weeks) - I don't have any infections and it is healing nicely.
I will definitely recommend this place.
Though I have not explored other options around St. Marks, I definitely would recommend Addiction for piercings. A friend had been looking to get a tattoo here, and on a whim I decided to get a rook piercing. The piercing room was small, but it was clean, well lit, and the tools were all sterilized in front of me and I was able to watch everything he did. The piercing was done superbly and nearly painless. He was also nice enough to answer all my questions about aftercare and what to use to clean and care for the piercing. Needless to say I have come back for a 3rd lobe piercing and recently a helix piercing all which were done without any issues.
The process for getting one is pretty basic. They ask what you want, you fill out a waiver and then you pay at the front of the shop. They stamp the receipt and then you can go back. I never really had to wait more than 5 minutes for a piercing which I think isn't bad considering it was a Saturday night. Prices are pretty good here as well, as I said I don't have anything to compare it to, but I think its worth it.
A friend of mine has gotten 2 tattoos done here, I personally haven't, but she seems pretty happy with the end results.
It may be small and seem like every other place on St. Marks, but they're super nice and helpful, I will be coming back here for future piercings.
If you absolutely must get your tats on St. Marks, go for Addiction. Ignore the token glassware out front, there are some great people inking in the back. The staff are polite and prompt with the paperwork. Beans is a great guy with a very relaxed energy. He works very quickly and delivers on what you want. The piercers are quick and everything is sterilized and modern despite the rundown room. Â
Years later, I would probably recommend researching tattoo parlors in the tristate if you want something really elaborate. Addiction doesn't have the best prices and they get crowded easily. Obviously you can't be choosy in Manhattan and snobbery won't cut it on St. Marks, so again, Addiction is a decent choice.
My bf got an eyebrow piercing here a couple of years ago and had a good experience so he took me here to get my navel done. Although everything looked clean and the price was reasonable, my piercer, Casper, pierced me crooked. It's just about a millimeter off but it's super obvious and is causing the piercing to be overly irritated. I'm seriously considering removing it. I'm really disappointed :(
Review Source:Don't judge a book by its cover. Although Addiction may not seem like much from the outside, inside it is kept clean and bright. The piercing room is tiny but clean and all the tools are sterilized in front of you.
Process is simple: fill out paperwork, get receipt, pay at the front, get receipt stamped and head back to the room to do your thang. I came here to get a conch piercing and it was done easily and superbly by Austin. He was cool when I wanted it at a different spot on my ear from where he marked it several times.
I couldn't give this place 5 stars because I waited for a good 15mins for Austin to show up. Although I was in no rush, I was just told to go the back room, ask for Austin and wait til he got back. I was given no indication how long that wait would be. Overall though, I'm delighted with my piercing that was done by Austin!
I would come here for piercings only, there is just no wow factor to any of the tattoos I've seen, I mean pink panther really?
I came here last August and me and my sister got industrial piercings and I also got a navel piercing. Itza took me and my sister into a room and let my cousin watch. I was really happy it was a girl and that it was someone who had a lot of piercings herself. The room is small but very clean. Itza took her time with prepping and cleaning the area explaining what she was gonna do and when. Â My sister felt a little queasy after and Itza even brought her some water. She explained how important it was to clean your piercing every day while it was still fresh and gave me her business card if I had any questions which was sweet. I followed her instructions and my piercings healed beautifully. A lot of people probably don't clean theirs every day which is why it could get infected. After looking at more of Itzas pictures online I wouldn't mind getting chest bars or something else.
After a few drinks at nearby Klong Restaurant, I decided to finally get my ears pierced. My Best friend and I stumbled upon Addiction. Inside was a young girl and 2 guys, they were pretty helpful and made sure I wanted to get my ears done. The girl was especially helpful because she was super friendly and calmed me through the ordeal. It was alil more than I expected..$60 bucks for both lobes and this cleaning spray. *Kinda too much but hey better now or never. Got my receipt and was across the street. (The guy apparently owned two tattoo joints) Anyways the piercer was definitely piercing-friendly. He had tattoos and piercings everywhere. He was super cool- Trying to talk like us (we're jamaican btw) HAHA.
The room was kinda tiny and sketchy...a big hole was behind the station-(didnt ask) Problem:- I dont know if I was typsy or what but the process took what seemed like ages. (My friend recorded it for memory) anyways he used a needle pretty swiftly..He did a pretty good overall except the 2nd piercing hurt like f*** but everything is healing great and although its just 'testers' I've been getting tons of complements! Thanks again man. too bad I can't remember your name!
I got my first and only tattoo here just over 3 years ago and it was amazing. I came in here just on passing and I had the tattoo that I wanted already and I showed it to the artist and he drew out the sketch for me and was able to capture all of the detail. Â * I got the holy trinity but it is intricate with stained glass and latin sayings included.* My friend also came back the two weeks after we went for my tattoo and got one in memory of his mother with came out really nice as well. Â I was really happy with the work of the artist but I found out that he was no longer on Addiction anymore I was kind of ticked but there is a reason for everything. but he made me feel very comfortable given my extent of nakedness and openness to everyone else in there while I was getting the work done which took over two hours. Â
I took some friends there last summer because they wanted to get piercing but the guy that we encountered at the door who was the piercing artist told us that he did not do the piercing that my friend wanted (the piece of flesh on the inside of your mouth between your gums and your lip) because it caused your teeth to turn blue. Â My friend really could have cared less because that was what she wanted but we were still glad that he told us that so we simply just went else where that was willing to do the piercing for her. Â All in all though my tattoo experience here definitely makes me recommend this place to other people.
I just got a tattoo here about 5 days ago, and I have to say that the experience was great. Â It was a kind of spur of the moment thing, but I had been thinking abut getting the tattoo for a long time. Â I went in and talked to an artist named Nick who was really cool and polite. Â He listened to what I wanted took a couple of minutes to draw something up, and in no time I was sitting in a chair getting my work done. Â I LOVED the results. He gave me EXACTLY what I asked for. Â I also had a moment to look at some of his work while waiting, and he does some AMAZING zombie tatts. Overall really good experience, and I would go back here again.
Review Source:I'd had a dream for a tattoo that I've been wanting for years. Unfortunately, I thought it was too detailed to put on my wrist and too easily screwed up. Having gone to the tattoo/ piercing part with a couple of friends the afternoon before, I was struck by the atmosphere of the place and the friendly kids who worked there.
Finally, after mulling over it all night, I decided to take the picture of the design I wanted in and to have it drawn out. Austin was very helpful in consulting me and, after a long chat, I was ready to go. The detail and shading on my new tat looks great and he even touched up another one I have for free. I really enjoyed my time there, despite the slight pain that comes with a tattoo, and would not hesitate to go back there for another one.
As for a head shop, Addiction has a pretty sick selection, but specialty pieces are a bit overpriced. Still, the service here is pretty excellent if you don't mind the casual vibe.
Addiction doesn't look like much, but they did good work on my industrial piercing. Â I had been shopping around for months & went to, no exaggeration, 5 shops that told me my ear was too small for an industrial & they couldn't pierce it.
When I walked into Addiction, I related this story to Tom, my piercer, who made the same face I had felt myself making in all those other shops & said, "Well, then, we just use a smaller bar." I mean, right?
The piercing room was small - like, TINY - but clean & bright. Tom was quick & communicative. He told me what he was doing at all times so I wasn't blindsided by needles or placeholders. In order to help my ear heal properly, he'd bent the bar he used, & he gave me really specific instructions on how to clean the bar & the piercings, & how to manage the pain. It was a great experience, & a pretty cheap one, & I wouldn't hesitate to go back for another piercing.
Addiction is super gross and horrible. Straight and simple. I've spent a considerable time in various tattoo shops and addiction is the first I've walked out and pinky-promised myself I would never return.
The entire first-half of the store is a head-shop and the dude in the front will mercilessly try to sell an over-priced bong even if you make it well known, "I AM NOT HERE FOR WEED PARAPHERNALIA, BRO." Once you're in the back, you meet the rest of the staff. It's just a room full of dudes making snarky comments about the work you're looking to get done, unsolicited critiques of the work you've already had done and even remarks pertaining to conversations they're not actually involved in. The work I wanted to get done involved me being completely topless, if I'm not comfortable with my clothes on, there's no way the situation would have gotten better half-naked.
If you're looking for a piercing place on saint marks, go to Andromeda. It's a couple bucks more but the level of professionalism doesn't even compare. Plus, their piercer is a complete doll.
Pretty cool place. I'm reviewing the shop part, NOT the piercing/tattoo part. Guy was super helpful. Very cheap prices. Got mine for $10 and had a pretty cool selection. Also have some good stuff if anyone is looking. Prices are a bit high on the good stuff which you can actually get a few shops down for cheaper, but I like the atmosphere in this place so I'll stick with it.
Review Source:Went in for an industrial, $45. Piercer's name is Itza.
Got it done in August 2010 and it's healed up well since.
She makes sure you know what's going on, how she plans to do it, etc. She leaves you with good care instructions too. No attitude.
Prices are average. The piercing room is rundown and small. But it's in St. Marks---you can't really expect some upscale piercing studio unless you're paying through the nose.
After almost a year of thinking it over, I finally went to Addiction to get my first tattoo. My sister had gotten hers done there about a year before, and she went with me.
My first impression wasn't the best: The guy I talked to first told me that the design I wanted couldn't be made at the size I wanted (which is fine, but he was pretty dismissive about it, and didn't seem like he wanted to waste time figuring out a compromise). I was getting the impression that I wouldn't be getting a tattoo after all, but then he got the next artist up (Ronn) to come talk to me.
Ronn is AWESOME. He was really straightforward about how small he could manage to make my tattoo, and when I told him that the picture I brought wasn't *exactly* what I wanted, he was happy to modify it. He spent so much time making the design! He had to resize the body of the fish I was getting, completely redo the scales so the level of detail would be possible to execute, and he also personally redrew the fins the way I wanted them. I was worried the price would be more than I was expecting because the size had increased, but he charged me $180, which considering the work that went in before and during the actually tattooing was really reasonable.
The layout is a little sketchy. There aren't any partitions or anything in the tattoo area, so the work stations kind of crept up on each other. I don't know if that's permanent or temporary, my sister said they'd had dividers when she got hers.
Ronn did really beautiful work in not a lot of time, and he chatted pleasantly with me without being overly social (he was, after all, injecting ink into my skin. Focus is good in that sort of thing). He obviously really cares about doing his best on each customer, and now that my tattoo is healed I can tell he's an awesome artist!
This place is a little crusty. The kind of place that you go into and people are picking out their tattoo off of the horrible lame tattoos on the wall or in a book. LAME! Be creative people. Who wants to have their body looking like Ed Hardy drew all over them! But I do have to say the prices for piercings are hard to beat. Can't say I have ever had a cheaper piercing, and Im healing up fine. Wouldnt go here for a tat, but thats just me :)
Review Source:This place seems to attract a lot of attention in the St. Marks neighborhood but I have to say I do not care for it at all. Â I had gone to Addiction last year to see about getting my labret re-pierced only to have them tell me a long speech about how you have to use a CBR instead of a barbell to insure good healing. Â Even asking to have it with a barbell they refused. Â I thought it was supposed to be the customers choice.. hmm I have gone twice with my friends to Addiction for tattoo quotes and compared to other places we have gone they are highly overpriced. Especially after seeing some friends complain of fading ink not too long after. Â I would be wary of this place.
Review Source:I went here with a friend for her to get a tattoo and was really impressed with the cleanliness and professionalism in the shop. Â My friend got a tattoo of three guitars (see posted picture) and it came out absolutely perfectly. Â It cost $250 without the color (he threw that in for free because she mentioned wanting it as an afterthought and she didn't want that much) which to me seemed really expensive for such a small tattoo. Â However, once it was done I understood why it cost so much because the tattoo artist really put a lot of effort into it and it couldn't have looked better. Â The entire thing took a fairly long time and although I didn't check my watch right when we left I think it was about 1.5 hours from start to finish. Â My friend chose this place because a friend of hers had just gotten a tattoo done there and recommended it. Â There are a zillion tattoo places on this street so it's hard to choose which one to go to. Â This place might cost you more than another on the street but just consider how much it is worth to you to 1) not get an infection and 2) have something so permanent on your body come out as well as possible.
Review Source:It's been a little less than a year since I got my tattoo from Addiction and it's already fading!! WTF! Â My tattoo healed well, and it looked great, but I looked at it the other day and it's fading in 3 sections. I did some research on why it would fade so quickly and here's what I found:
"Tattoos performed by inexperienced tattooists often fade because they are either not done deeply enough and the color leaches away, or too deeply which causes scar tissue and excess scabbing."
I remember this tattoo didn't hurt as much as my other tattoo so I'm pretty sure he didn't apply the ink deep enough. Now I have to spend the extra dollars to get it touched up. Damn it.
I STILL LOVE NEW YORK!!
Someone mentioned that Addiction is where you go for decent work, and seeing that I've been going to Addiction to the past year, I have to agree now (I might start going to NY Adorned or East Ink..)
Addiction is the place I got my first tattoo, and my artist for that Was Eric. He was nice enough, and professional enough. The only problem was that he  makes me feel unsettled due to his (really) shaky hands.  So with that, I have a TINY little smidge extra under that tat.
And since then, I've been going to Edwardo. I've got my past 8 tattoos with him. He is friendly and you can joke around with him..the thing is that sometimes his work gets inconsistent. I have "Memento Mori" and "Memento Vivere" on my forearm, the Ms on Vivere came out perfectly, whereas with Memento Mori, they look slightly like Ns prior to me telling him to fix it.
Don't get me wrong, I still find Addiction a great deal and with pretty talented artists and will be going back again soon. But when I start getting more complicated ones, I might move on to a different parlor.
A few years ago a friend and I were on a 'rebellion spree' so we decided on a whim that I was going to get my nose pierced, and he was to get his first tattoo. Â We shopped around St. Marks and ran into a lot of clowns charging big bucks that didn't have time to talk to us about procedure, needles, care, jewelry, metal sensitivity etc.. until we walked into Addiction. Â The staff was soooo nice and accommodating. Â You always feel good giving your money to people who make the extra effort and are super professional. Â I'm very squeamish of needles and the process was so chill, clean, and actually quite painless. Â My friend's tatt came out gorgeous, we'd both come back for other endeavors in the future.
Review Source:I finally took out my corset piercing 1 years and 8 months later. I could have kept it, but it took waay too much effort to take care of and it got in the way of a lot of my favorite activities. Now I have 16 gorgeous symmetrical scars left as little reminders.
It was a glamorous and fun year and 8 months, and I would definitely come back to here to re-pierce my back in the future!
P.S. I'm still in love with my Q-Mark tattoo done by Danny.
I decided to go to addiction based on the yelp reviews in addition to a recommendation from a friend of mine. Â I had checked out several of the piercing shops on St. Marks and this seemed the cleanest and most reputable of all the places on the block.
I got my nipple pierced and the piercer was great about it, he totally understood how nervous I was and didn't try to rush me about it at all. Â The space was clean and he was great about going over instructions with me.
They guys there were also great about answering questions that I had a few days after the piercing and made me feel at ease about the healing. Â They're slightly more expensive than some other places on the block, but the extra few dollars was worth the cleanliness and the fact that it's less sketchy than the rest of the area.
My friend and I came here last fall to get our first tattoos, and the artist (Beans) gave us a good first experience. He drew up some cool stuff for my friend, and gave her the two small tattoos she wanted at a decent price. They healed up nice and they look beautiful. I got the Brooklyn Bridge on the side of my left bicep (of course the most painful spot to get one), and it came out awesome. Its still my favorite tattoo even though I've gotten more since. I've heard its the best place on the St. Marks stretch, and the high price and high quality will prove that too. It lost a star because Beans started drinking whiskey while he was still tattooing on me...kinda unprofessional, even for a tattoo parlor, I think. The staff is nice enough, but some are pretty stuck up as well. I'm going to Flyrite in Brooklyn from now on, they're a whole step up from this place.
Review Source:spank banks, pearl necklaces and those damn 'god hates everyone' protestors just scratches the surface of the conversations i had while waiting for/ getting my latest ink here. Â The staff is amazing and they came highly recommended from a friend of mine. Â I purchased some glass here the night before, and the girl out front ( can't remember her name.....see the glass works well lol ) was quite helpful and could hold a good conversation.
I got my cherries done by daniel - he did an incredible job - a bit higher priced than i would have normally paid - but still this is nyc and st marks place... and he is an incredible artist - tho mine was more of an off the wall type design.  Everyone was high energy and sociable ( a high point for me when  picking somewhere to get stabbed a few thousand times) and even tho we didn't even start till after midnight - he did an incredible job ( see pic in profile) - i will absolutely go back for me!
Also just an fyi - they do get insanely busy on weekends - especially at night - so if you want something big and/or detailed - make an appointment for during the day or during the week - or you'll be shit out of luck!
Hey guys, i just got my very first tattoo here along with two friends on friday (3.7.08) and they did an excellent job. Â There is a 70$ min. Â the place was clean, the artists were friendly and slightly silly, it was a really comfy atmosphere. Â My tattoo looks great, i would definitely suggest this place if you want to avoid the 100$ min of other shops in NYC. Â My tattoo wasn't large it was about 3 in. by 1.5 in, so i can't comment on artistically how advanced they're capable of being but I'd definitely recommend them for anybody looking to get their first ink done.
Review Source:Anything i need i get it from them, I only let them but holes in me. And soon a tattoo. This place is clean, and the staff is super nice, and helpful.
They have a pretty big store in the front, if ya just wanna buy some new jewelry or a bog lol.
Its not the cheapest place on the block, but the block does have like 4 or 5 over tattoo parlors. I like this place, cuz u dont have to be a dick  or a bad ass to be a great tattoo/piercing artist. a lesson that some others could learn on the block.
FINALLY! It's about time I recall where I received my two small tattoos; therefore I am finally able to yelp about it!
At first I didn't realize this fine establishment had a tattoo parlor till I walked all the way back. Everyone there is super friendly and really helpful with any questions or concerns. Since I walked in with an idea, it was pretty easy talking with Daniel about bringing my idea to life and I knew he was the man for the job.
Daniel definitely took his time talking with me about placement ideas and color thoughts. I selected a light ink since I placed the tattoos on my left wrist and he was able to mix a good color and test it on my skin prior to tattooing. I have to say, it was slightly painful! Thank god Daniel is nice on the eyes! :)
I absolutely appreciated and loved the fact that the establishment is EXTREMELY clean. They definitely take sanitary precautions and take their work seriously. I never once felt like they were NOT sanitary.
About 20 minutes later and a little over $60, my tattoos came to life! After Daniel explained how to go about caring for it, he invited me back if I wanted the tattoo darker. Which, two weeks later, I did. And, there was no extra charge!
If you are looking to do any tattoo work (either a personal piece you drew or something selected from the books) I HIGHLY recommend this place. Ask for Daniel - he is awesome.
Daniel puts in a nice tattoo, and Victor does decent work..Another shop that sells bongs in the front room, and the little dark space in the back is the tattoo shop..Not a shop for a serious collector, but they do decent work.

I honestly love this place. Eric did the sugar skull on my arm (it took about 2 hours, it was so hot in there and I'm sure I was a pain in the ass because it hurt after awhile.) but I get compliments on it all the time and it's just gorgeous. When I'm back in the city for good I'll be making all of my ink appointments here (and with Eric.)
Review Source:I got my tat from Adal here, and he's absolutely great. He was fairly new at the time (this was a while back), and incredibly nice and really super chill. We talked about what his interests were in the field, how he got into it, and what he had hoped to do in the future. Just a classic conversation. I discussed how chinese characters end up looking the way they look in different styles because of the strokes and how to imitate what I wanted correctly, and he was really enthused and open to new tidbits.
The staff is really friendly and nice, don't be intimidated at all. Adal was really, really helpful in getting the size and carefully going about his work, but he was also really quick and efficient. A great experience, I highly recommend it. The next one i get will be from here. The price was not bad either.
Update: Adal does not work here anymore, hopefully he's doing well somewhere else. However, the current artists are all very good and know their stuff. I had one done Sunday from Eric, nice guy, when he gets in a groove don't let him stop. This time around in terms of service it wasn't as friendly, but its one of those "initially you may be put off, but talk a little bit, put up some wit, and they'll laugh along with you". Especially if its not as busy. This woman was getting a huge arm piece, it was flowing and colorful and really wonderful, she was getting the second part of it. All in all for a buck fifty not bad at all.
