I got a simple tattoo of a quote on the inside of my left forearm. JASON made me feel comfortable and was very quick.
My boyfriend has 3 tattoos from JASON. He plans on getting a half sleeve incorporating filipino tribal art in August. JASON was very knowledgeable about various tribal art from various cultures. He thoroughly discussed the similarities and differences between the existing forms of tribal art. If you plan on getting a tattoo, see JASON!
Don't know why I waited this long to write a review for this place.
This place is awesome. The workers are cool and they were hella understanding some issues that came up before my appointment and managed to change my appointment time even though they don't do it unless it's a few days in advance. I just want to emphasize that I know the owner was super reluctant to change my appointment time, but I'm grateful!
I got a simple 4-inch cross tattoo and Joe did it for me. I went with my sister and although we had to wait because the machine was down or something, he made us comfortable and he was easy to talk to! He also advised me not to go too big on my tattoo since he could always add more if I wanted. Thank God he did, because my tattoo came out perfectly at the size he recommended.
Definitely going back here for my next tattoo.
Jason is the best! Having gone to many different tattoo places I was pleased to find a shoot from the hit professional I could relate to. I am 1/3 the way inked and have 5 years to go with Jason.. Detailed, sterile, talented environment for ideas to manifest . I recommend for first timers to veterans !
Review Source:Had a consultation with Jason, and unfortunately he wasn't able to do my tattoo. But the reason why I give them 5 stars is written below.
My tattoo was never finished by a previous artist, and Jason kindly let me know that he doesn't finish other people's tattoos because he wanted to maintain his reputation . I've been too many artists and I've never had someone tell me that, I felt that he was honest and genuine which is what everyone should look for in a tattoo artist. He was incredibly professional, and insisted I come back for another piece. The place was incredibly clean as well. Although I was bummed out that he couldn't do my tattoo I completely understood and appreciated is integrity when it comes to his work. I'm deffinetly going to come here when I need some new work done. You'd be crazy to not trust these guys, I didn't even get a tattoo but I felt like Jason's work would have been incredible. Right on Jason, and I hope to work with you soon.
I just got the most greatest Tattoo I had a Tat done 10 years ago by Jason and of course its fantastic. This review is for Jo He is great. I came in wanting and symbol of a puerto rican Taino Indian Sun. He was very professional. he took flat out care of me even though I moved so much . I guess im kinda never get used to it even though I have about 5 of them.Let me just say Im nso super satisfied. Not only did he give me a great service but i felt so safe due to the best sanitation experience been to alot of places I didnt dream of ever actully having work done. I will always trust DC Tattoo cause they are ARTISTS. And they know what they are doing Thanks guys i be sending business your way.
Review Source:Jason is awesome. He is very professional and straightforward. I told him what I had in mind and showed him some drawings I had done and he explained how that wouldn't work out for me and then drew me up something that incorporated what I wanted and fit my needs.
His wife is super nice and works in the office and makes the appointments and calls and reminds you of your appointment. She even called a week later to check up on how it was healing. I have had four other tats and no one has ever called to check up on me!
I did have to make the appointment three months in advance but it was well worth the wait.
I was looking for a new piece to be done on me so I was referred by some friends of mine to DC tattoo after seeing some of their work done by them. I scheduled a consultation with Jason way back in the fall of 11' and was told I would need more coverage in order to make my piece work without looking all cluttered. I was hesitant at first because it was a bigger piece than I wanted but I trusted his advice and 3 months later Jason went to work on my piece. He has been in the business for over 20 years, his shop is extremely clean, so clean you could eat off the floor (but he probably wont let you), and he is extraordinary talented.
His real talent shines when you go in for an original piece, where you as the client comes up with a concept or idea and you let him as the artist conceive the tattoo. It's kind of nerve wracking at first because you don't know what you're gonna get it and you're dropping at least $100 on something that's going to be on you for the rest of the life. But that's the fun of it when you see that he fails to disappoint. Â By allowing him to be the artist and the input he receives from you as the client, a work of art is produced that can never be reproduced by anyone anywhere again. It was interesting to see my tattoo come to life with each successive session.
To me that is when you see the true beauty of tattooing, and if you want the full experience of that then pay a visit to DC Tattoos.
Walked into DC tattoo looking for Brian. Unfortunately he doesn't work there anymore. However, I was able to talk to Jason about a script I wanted done. He was nearly booked for 3 months until his next availability. But I heard that Jason is really good, so I was willing to wait 3 months to get a tattoo from him. I was at work and got a call from DC tattoo, and Jason was able to squeeze me in his busy schedule. Definitely going to get more work done from Jason.
Review Source:First of all, chillass people work here. I was a tattoo virgin when i first walked in, so of course I was intimidated a bit, but they made me feel comfortable, & I knew that was the place. I was sick of the shops on Haight, tattoo artists giving me the cold shoulder or were just impatient. Ridiculous prices.. $350 for a small 5 inch tattoo ?! Anyways, DC tattoos is clean, everything is sterilized. Needles are new. This shop is just crazy clean & cozy comfortable. Cameron did my tattoo, did a great job, & I'm happy.
Review Source:Don't know why I haven't done this sooner, I had this done back in 2009. Â I had an old ugly piece on my back that was a cover up of a cover up (sigh) and wanted to finally have this thing covered PERMANENTLY! Â The existing was a Pheonix that I had wanted to be beautiful, but came out looking more like a screaming chicken.
Jason went to work and drew right on my back and showed me how he could cover it just right. Â He was very cool, clean, and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Â I am very grateful for his medical knowledge, as he noticed I was bleeding a little too much during the first sitting (I'm anemic). Â He told me to take some more iron and come back in 2 weeks to finish up. Â
I came back and he finished up all the coloring in just over an hour! Â He even added a few extra flowers around the piece that I just LOVE! Â To this day, my tattoo is bright and vibrant! Â I get a lot of compliments! Â I just called to see about my next piece. Â I'm sure I'll be just as happy with the next (and the next, and the....you get it)!
First class place. Super clean, super cool and perfect designs. Â
I asked for custom designs (anniversary date and a name). Â I got a full consultation on both pieces before they were drawn up and before they were placed. Â Jason confirmed each detail including spelling and numerics three times before proceeding. Â
And what a pleasant surprise to get a voicemail asking me if I was ok and had any questions or concerns just a few days after my appointment. Â
Both pieces are way sexy, put in places and with the contours of my body (as I am sure I will continue to morph, indefinitely). Â
I will be back in the future. Â And I will be recommending DC Tattoos to everyone I know that wants excellent quality work with honest, professional, and considerate folks.
I can't remember how I found this place. I know my friend and nephew had a tattoo done here by Brian and maybe that's how I ended up here. Nonetheless this place is awesome.
My first tattoo done by Jason was last year--its a branch with cherry blossoms along my right rib/side. I love it! and get a lot of compliments on it.
this year, I really really wanted a cover up done on a dragon tattoo on my right shoulder blade. I made an appointment for a consult. I got to my appointment, let Jason know what I wanted (lotus flower) to cover up my dragon. After taking a look at the tattoo, Jason suggested that I choose another tattoo to go with the lotus flower. I thought about it and said a Koi Fish. Â
I was called about a week before my first session to take a look at the drawing. I was happy with it!
Then it seemed like forever for the first session but it came sooner than later. The cover up took 2 sessions. End result is I LOVE LOVE LOVE my cover up tattoo and you can't even tell what was there before.
I'll be going back again for a cover up of a tiger lily on my left shoulder. I wish I can make the consult appointment now. =)
I'll save up more money and schedule.
thanks Jason for an awesome job on both tattoos!
Jason (the owner) just completed my fully custom large mouth bass in honor of my husband. I am extremely pleased with the way this tattoo turned out & with the service I received! Maribel his wife is wonderful to deal with and his co worker Brian is also very personable & does good work. I would higly recommend this pristine shop to anyone looking for a tattoo. Â Be prepared to pay........ I'll be back!
Review Source:I love this place!! I have four tattoos. The latest one that I got at DC was technically my 5th but it is a cover-up. Out of all the places I have ever been tatted at, this one is my favorite! Since I was getting a rib piece, I really wanted to go somewhere good since it is such a sensitive spot on the body. My dad told me to go to DC since he had been tatted there before and said he would pay for it as long as I didn't go anywhere else. That is how much he loves it!! Brian did my tattoo and he did an amazing job!! He covered up my old tattoo well and made the new tattoo fit the contour of my hips and ribs beautifully. Brian's knowledge of color combination and body composition was really helpful in creating a solid tattoo. It was not one of those situations where an artist just slaps some ink onto you. Brian really put a lot of thought into what he was doing. Â He worked efficiently and quickly, constantly making sure I was comfortable. It takes a while for set-up but it is mostly because Brian was so meticulous about cleanliness. I will never go anywhere else to get tatted!!!
Review Source:Jason (and family) at DC Tattoos is a top-notch artist as well as an all around great guy. Â Straight shooter...straight lines...nothing but the best quality artwork and designs. Â He's touched up other tattoos I've had done by other businesses. Â I wish I would've gone to him to get all my previous ones done.
Check it!
DC Tattoo has received great reviews and I was willing to give them a chance awhile back (2008), but was not treated very well. I normally call in advance to see if they are open and if  they are taking open consultations. I was told that I could come by at anytime that day. When I arrived, I was greeted by one of the artists who was the only one there working on a piece and had locked the door. When he opened the door, he gave me a look as if I was bothering him and had told my wife w/ my 1 year old son (in a carrier) that they had to wait outside in the cold weather.  Sorry to say, but if you're a business that has customer interaction then you need to have at least a friendly facing demeanor.
He pretty much settled that I wouldn't get "ink" done there. it's unfortunate though because I was looking forward to seeing their portfolios......
I pretty much came here cuz my brother got his here and I knew of another friend of mind get hers here too. Â After I went and did my consultation I was convinced I wanted to get it done here. Â There prices seem more expensive than other tattoo shops but why pay for cheap for something so permanent. Â This place is SO CLEAN! Â They use very sterile equipment like what is used in the hospital.. Â I love my tattoo!!! Â They also have a pool table, comfortable couch and flat screen for anyone coming in with you for moral support.
Review Source:My friend from high school got a beautiful bird of paradise flower done by Jason several years ago.  I kept him in the back of my mind as the artist I would want if I ever ended up getting a tattoo.  So when my mom became terminally ill, I decided that I wanted to get a memorial piece for her.  After thinking about exactly what I wanted for over a year I had a consult with Jason about my ideas.  I told him that I wanted a humming bird  (mom's favorite animal) drinking out of a peruvian lily (mom's favorite flower) with her initials.  He wasn't familiar with the particular flower, but did his research.  I let him lead me after that as far as actual size and placement on my shoulder, because I figured he knows what he's doing, and I'm so glad that I trusted him.  The piece ended up exceeding my expectations and it came out even more beautifully then I could have ever imagined.  Jason was extremely helpful answering all my questions, he was extremely sanitary, and he chatted with me through the whole process to keep me distracted, and he's a very interesting guy!  They didn't mind that I brought two friends for moral support, and my one friend was so impressed with his work she's even going to have him fix several of her old tattoos. I did a fair amount of research, and his prices might be a little higher than some of the other places I looked into, but it was more than worth it.  If something is going to be on my body for all of eternity, I want it to be exactly what I want, perfect, and beautiful. It was worth every penny and then some.  All of my friends and family have just fell in love with the piece, and a stranger even came up to me in Safeway to tell me it was the most beautiful tattoo she's ever seen in her life.  If/when I decide to get another tattoo I will definitely drive all the way up to Daly City to get the work done by Jason, and wait however many weeks it takes for him to fit me in.  Another huge perk is that he is extremely sanitary and cleanly.  He won't even let people throw their garbage in the cans in his workspace.  The have to use a different garbage can and cannot cross the barrier into the tattoo space.  I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else to put a needle to my skin, but I don't worry at all with Jason.  He is fabulous, give him your business (just not so much that he can't fit me in anymore).
Review Source:I should have written this a while ago....
My family loves this shop. Â How much you say? Â ALOT
My brother, my sister in law, my uncle and cousin in law(?) my adoptive brother and I go to Jason. Â It has been over 5 years that we have known Jason. Â We have seen a few artists come and go but all of them have been professional. Â
I have recommended at least 5 other people to check out his shop.
Jason's shop has always been super clean. Â If you read the other reviews below, they are not kidding about how clean it really is. Â He and he team to a phenomenal job on keeping that place spotless. Â
From the photos, you can see that there is a seating area for guests to either support the person getting a tattoo or wait to get theirs. Â
Parking usually isn't a problem. Its metered right outside of the shop but since its Daly City, you're not spending an arm and a leg. Â
Jason has a great way of keeping you entertained while creating beautiful work. He'll laugh and joke with you and make sure that you are comfortable. He will let you know his thoughts on what would look good and not. Â His thoughts are that he wants you to be happy with the work you have.
I waited 5 years to get the tattoo that I have. Â I was very particular because well, tattoos are for life. Â I came to Jason with an idea of what I wanted. Â He drew it for me and it was exactly how I imagined it. Â He told me that if I need touch ups to just let him know. Â I do want to go back for more work but I'm not sure what I would get. Â Once I figure that part out I will definitely go back to Jason. Â I just don't trust anyone else enough to put a needle to my skin.
This tattoo shop rocks.
The people that work here are really chill and laidback but know when to go to work, that's why this place is immaculately clean. My friend got her tattoo at this place while me and three other friends came along to support her. The guy that did her tattoo was professional as he definitely talked through with my friend of what was to be expected. The tattoo turned out great and before walking out, he assured my friend that if there is any retouching or anything needed to make the tattoo look great, just visit him again because "he takes care of his work;" I find that very professional.
As for us who were just waiting there, we were PLENTY amused with the magazines they had. But that was because there were four of us there. Also, to be nice, the tattooist turned the chair around so that our friend was facing us and we can see the tattoo being done. Great customer service here... they take care of everyone.
I'd definitely go here for a tattoo when I get the balls to get over the pain!
I got my first 5 tattoos here (I got 7 total). The first time I got a tattoo here was 2002 and the last time I got a tattoo here was 2006 (so it may be different now). I've never had a bad experience with DC Tattoos. Â The tattoo artists are very knowledgeable and they were teaching me what to look for in "clean tattoo" shops when I got my first tattoo. Â
It was pretty cool to see the Mayor of Daly City at the shop as well. He showed me his tattoo that he got. Pretty cool place...I'd definitely recommend it to my friends & I'd come back from more.
3 years later...
I got my first and only tattoo here. I don't really remember the name of the person that did my tat, but he was great.
I am allergic to latex, so he walked over to Walgreens to purchase some latex free gloves. My tattoo is on my upper back area and my back muscles were spasming while he was working on me. He was able to finish the tattoo nicely even with all the moveing. I LOVE IT. I want to get a second and would def. go back here!
Also, since I opted to cut out part of my tattoo, he charged me a bit less than what it should have been. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I got my tattoo on my 18th birthday and I still absolutely love it! The guys that work at DC Tattoos are extremely nice and professional. The shop is clean and spotless with a comfortable feel because of the couches, pool table and TVs. While getting my tattoo, I watched Joe Dirt and felt pretty relaxed and in good hands. I think it was Jason who did my tattoo (DC Tat sticker on the back of your car right?) and he even remembered me and my tattoo when I came back two years later with a friend to get her tattoo. Prior to my appointment day, Jason worked with me on adjusting what exactly I wanted done and crafting the picture I gave him. It came out beautifully!
Great place. I highly recommend it.
As a tattoo newb, I was nervous. Was it going to hurt? Now, I'm hooked! I came in with little pictures printed out of what I wanted and walked out with two beautiful birds on my shoulder. Brian did a wonderful job, it barely hurt - well as much as a tattoo could barely hurt. I'm already thinking of what else do I want to have Brian do!
The rest of the shop was really comfy, my cousin and husband came and hung out while I got my tattoo. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Gotta go here and ask for Jason, the owner. Â He is a master at this art. Â I had Jason do two pieces for me, one on my right arm as a half sleeve with a dragon and a fish, full color, then a full sleeve on the left arm in a traditional Tahitian style. Â He is well versed in tattooing, and will work with you to get your ideas on your skin. Â Don't go anywhere else.
Review Source:This is the place you go when you want to get it done right... if you treat your body like an open canvas then you'll find your artist here. I visited the shop 2 years ago and got work done on both my arms by Jason H. I had an idea of what i wanted and he worked his skills to provide a one of a kind piece. The art work speaks for itself. Take the time to go in and  you won't regret it.
One more thing you ever watch that show Miami Ink where after someone gets work done they hug the tattoo artist and they end up getting blood on the artist shirt... that doesn't happen here. This place is the cleanest, most professional shop I've been in, and they have a pool table to entertain your broke friends who just want to watch.
DC tattoos is right around the corner from my work, and members at the gym i work  for would always tell me to stop by and check the place out.  I'm new to the area and I've been looking for an artist to go to since my other artist is in Sacramento. Â
I had a tattoo i was itching to get so my roommate and i decided to see if they took walk-ins. Â We walk in and i immediately notice how clean the place is! which is a must, of course. Â there was only one artist there at the time and he greeted us and told us to have a seat and he would be right with us ( he was finishing another client). Â initially he said he wouldn't be unable to take us that day, but after showing him what we wanted he agreed to do it and told us to come back in an hour.
the artist (who's name i cannot remember!) was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Â he let me place the tattoo exactly where i wanted it, so there was no mistake. Â he was very gentle and i must say this was the most pain-free tattoo i have ever gotten. Â he took his time and made the tattoo look exactly how i wanted it. all in all i had a very good experience!
DC Tattoos is great! Â As the other reviewers mentioned, the shop is clean! Â Outside of the actual tattoo area it's pretty much like someones living room with a comfy couch and chair. Â Brian did my tattoo and man he did a great job! Â I've already set up a consultation for my next one... Â
If your looking to get a tattoo look no farther than DC Tattoos! Â Jason and Brian are easy to talk to, down to earth, funny and their artwork speaks for itself.
All I can say about dis place is that it fuckin' rocks! I came in with a rough idea of what I wanted done and Brian took my idea and totally ran with it. He made the whole experience pleasant and enjoyable. Another perk of this place is its cleanliness and decor. Being that I work in surgery, I was paranoid about the sterility and infection control. But dis parlor is super clean...they wipe down all the equipment and change gloves frequently.
Also, the place has a nice set up of how their artwork is displayed...in albums, frames, and on a moniter. I hear they are still expanding. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for their next...or first...tattoo. Thumbs up!
Here's the skinny on DC Tattoo.  The owner of the shop is a stickler for maintaining sterilization. During my visit, I actually saw him give his client a ration of sh*t for touching things.  To a hypochondriac (me) this was quite comforting.  There's nothing hotter than a  man who knows how to control bloodbourne pathogens!
The shop is so clean, I'm almost certain you could eat off the floor, if you were so inclined to eat off the floor of a tattoo shop.
Not wanting to wait three months to have a sitting with the owner, I had my coverup work done by a younger kid and he did such a fantastic job. Â I was a little nervous to get work done by someone relatively new in the industry but he was great. Â Took his time, listened to what I wanted and he was more concerned with the final result than I was. Â I was so happy with his work that I brought my 18 year old there when she wanted to get her tattoo.
I got nothing but nice things to say about this place. I'll be back. Â As soon as I have some expendable income.
DC Tattoos is another one of the tattoo parlors that I would definitely recommend to friends. The artist I had was great-he joked with me the whole time I was getting mine done. He was very up front about what kind of tattoo (as in the size, shape, color) would look good in certain places (I got my nautical star tattoo there on my neck). The actual parlor itself was very clean and comfortable. Great experience there!
Review Source:I love my tat! I got it on my 18th birthday and he (totally forgot his name, sorry) did a great job! I wasn't sure how I wanted it colored (like one solid color or faded), but I told the guy to do whatever he thought would look best. I trusted him completely because he was confident, and I don't regret that decision. The tat came out lovely! It hurt like a bitch though, but he kept me laughing talking about midget porn. The place is really clean and spacious with couches and a pool table for your supporting friends/family. When I get the courage to get a second one, I'm def going back to them. Perfect job.
