Ive been coming here for about 4yrs and I'm never disappoint. It's such a chill laid back place and the people are awesome also.  Micky is always super amazing and always makes you feel at ease when getting pierced. I won't ever go anywhere else... Only compliant is.... It's kinda $$$ but I guess that's what you have to play for gr8 service :)

I had a really positive experience with Sonic from Sacred Heart. he was fairly upfront and patient with me. He also contributed some great ideas to a tatoo design I had, and I really enjoy.

I had never been to a tatto parlor before.  Last weekend, my niece and I decided to have our ears re-pierced.... boring, I know.

After reading about the sanitation issues with the piercing guns used at places like Claire's, we decided to go with the parlors that use sterilized needles.  Also, my niece suffered a severe infection after having her ears pierced at Claire's last year, and had let them grow back.  After reading the positive Yelp reviews, we chose the Sacred Heart studio.  We weren't sure if we would be treated as "second class citizens" because we were just getting our ears pierced, but that was certainly not the case.  We were treated very courteously, respectvully and professionally,

We had been putting this off because we are both of us are afraid of needles.  However, Mickey, who performed our piercings, put us very much at ease.  For me, it was almost pain free, and the process was very clean and sterile.  The interior of the studio is "happy" and bright.  Yes, the parking is an issue, but we parked in the driveway in the back with no incidents.  I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean and safe piercing experience.

WARNING BEWARE WARNING WARNING! This is the absolute best tattoo and piercing place in Houston. HOWEVER! they do not ask you where you parked or give you any mention that your car will likely be towed if you parked incorrectly. When our car was towed I went in asked if they knew who I should call and they gave me the number quickly. Two of my friends were still getting their tatts, so my concern was just to get my car back in time for when we wanted to leave. THE RED FLAG should have gone up but it did not. Here is what I found VERY SUSPECT.....There was a couple that were getting there stuff done when we walked in. When they were done the lady walked in and out a few times and left.  I did not hear the conversation,
When I arrived at the tow truck lot the same couple that I had seen at Sacred Heart were just retrieving their vehicle.,,, each of us $223 later plus the cab fare.  Coincidence? I think not!
Could the people in the shop have said hey this lady's car just got towed, is anyone else there? Or could have just asked where we parked. It probably happens all the time for their customers yet they do not mention it. Probably getting paid a don't ask don't tell bounty on their customers.
And the person from Sacred Heart said yeah people don't usually see that the parking signs say a time on them.
Although this is a premier shop for the work they do, THEY GET A GIANT F from me fo customer service.
How can you trust them when they can not even mention it when you walk in but have all the numbers to call memorized?

After deliberating and procrastinating for months (years) about updating/adding to my existing tattoo, I finally manned up and came here.

My tattoo artist was named Matt Diaz, and he did a wonderful job of taking my vague descriptions of my ideas, and created a great tattoo that I love.

Matt did a great job of communicating costs and expectations, and was readily available for an appointment, not the usual run around (still haven't heard back from a few places I called in February... I guess it's good I didn't wait).

The studio is super clean, and everyone that works there is super nice. While I was there getting my tattoo done on a Saturday afternoon a number of customers of varied backgrounds and interests came and went.

It didn't feel (like so many tattoo studios and shops do) like some kind of clubhouse that you, the paying customer, were intruding on.

I plan on getting my nose re-pierced in a few weeks, I'm definitely going here.

Also it should be said: this is Houston, of course the parking sucks. Take that up with the city.
Drive back one block from westheimer and you've got plenty of options, it's not hard.

Terrible, terrible service.  Piercer was incredibly unprofessional and rude.  Told me to shut up!  He was a know-it-all that didn't want to listen to customer concerns.

This place is so wonderful. I went in for a piercing and the desk lady was so kind and the piercer Mickey was just oozing warmth, compassion and most importantly professionalism.  Great place.  20 stars.
BTW, just read reviews....I paid with a card....maybe it was an old policy for cash only.

I went to Sacred Heart about two years ago to get my lip pierced. The piercer was some skinny white girl with dark hair. She was pretty cool, pretty professional. The place was really clean as always.

I think I was taken advantage of when I went back to get a shorter bar put in and the dude at the register charged me for that. Really?! The guy that changed the bar didn't say anything about that. That and the crappy parking are cons.

Some people have the attitude that piercings and tattoos shouldn't be so expensive. If all you care about is money and you don't care about not looking like ghetto filth, take your behind to Dago's and get some raggedy stuff done AND hepatitis. I know Sacred Heart is clean and I've never heard of anyone getting a disease or infection from going there. I plan on getting my nose pierced soon and Sacred Heart is where I'll go.

I've had my nose pierced here -- twice. I would never ever ever ever get a tattoo, so I can only speak for the piercings done here.

The piercing cost is reasonable -- $35 and the jewelry starts at $15. The first time, I had to buy a stud for my nose. The second go-round I brought in my old stud and they were able to use that one for the piercing so I didn't have to buy new jewelry. The staff is very friendly and answered all my questions. As for the interior, it smells and looks sterile and clean in here, while being bright and artsy. It's exactly the type of place you would expect to find in Montrose in an old house.

When you enter, there is a room to the right  where you go in for your piercing. Others are not allowed to be in there with you for safety and cleanliness. On both visits, the piercer sterilized and double gloved his hands and I watched as he removed each tool from a new package. The pain of a nose piercing really isn't too bad. Just makes you cringe for a second and one little tear involuntarily comes out. My first piercing healed well and never got infected. My second is still young, but I'm certain it will also heal well. They recommend and sell Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap for $6.50 to clean your piercing, but they also told me I could get the same product at Whole Foods which I found for $3.99. You can also use regular Dial liquid soap. Since I work at a medical school, this orange Dial soap is in every bathroom and I really hate it. It is stinky and dries out skin, but it does sanitize well. I recommend Dr. Bronner's -- especially for a nose piercing since it smells like peppermint.

I once got my snug pierced (it's part of the ear, google it) when I was out of town and partying it up, and that place wasn't as sterile, was more expensive and my piercing was infected from the start. It never healed at all and I took it out after a few months. I'm considering coming back to Sacred Heart to have them pierce my snug properly because it's a fairly uncommon piercing that I really like the look of.

Unless out of town and intoxicated, I'll stick to Sacred Heart for my piercing desires.

I got my first tattoo here two years ago, and I must say that they have pretty much what you are looking for in a tattoo parlor. They are clean, patient, and have some amazing talent in that small shop.

Apparently staff here turns over rather quickly. Sucks when you got back five months later for a touch up (wrist tat) and your artist is no longer there.

I first went to Sacred Heart ten years ago when in highschool to get my bellybutton pierced. I've been back three times over the past ten years for tattoos and never been disappointed.

Cons: no parking - gotta find a spot on the street, they can be a little rude or standoffish when you first walk in, and it is a bit ridiculous that they only take cash. I pay cash for $5 cups of coffee not for more expensive items like tattoos.

Pros: their artists really are artists - out of my four tattoos, two of them were ones I just walked in with an idea and the tattoo artist drew me something I loved. Neither were extravagant but that is even more impressive - for both the artist actually listened to me and drew something I liked. Also, I got a tattoo done at another studio and when I came into Sacred Heart for my next one, they actually fixed my messed up tattoo for free! Plus, what everyone is saying about cleanliness is definitely true.

Artist rec: Just got a tattoo by Jared Green and would definitely recommend him. His work is beautiful and it was seriously about as painless as a tattoo on the foot can be.

Make sure to call and talk to the in advance, find out about coming in beforehand to talk with the artist and to set an appointment.

My daughter and I went in to Sacred Heart Studio to get matching tattoos. Sonikk was wonderful, professional and willing to put up with two finicky females. He did exactly what we asked and our tats are amazing! The staff was also tops. They only take cash, but for those not prepared...they have an ATM right in the shop. I live in Missouri, but my next tat will be at Sacred Heart! Thanks guys!

Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind. Hey Mickey!

I'm sure my piercer is rolling in his grave right now after getting that 50 billion times in his life.  Anyway, I love this place. I live in Austin but I got my nose pierced here three years ago.  When I decided to get it redone, I didn't want to go anywhere else so I waited until I was staying at my parents' house to make the drive to the studio.

The place is immaculately clean.  It is bright and cheerful and everyone working there is very friendly.  Both times I've gotten pierced here has been pleasant.  They change their gloves at least twice, thoroughly wash their hands, and all the utensils come out of sealed containers. Plus, I've never had any swelling or redness. Maybe you  normally don't with nose piercings, but I'm going to attribute it to the amazing people here!

I wandered into Sacred Heart while waiting for some friends to show up across the street at Numbers. I had wanted a simple script tattoo on my inside forearm and offered my own handwriting, then dumped that in favor of Micah's beautiful flowing script. I have never met a friendlier tattoo artist (and he's super hot, bonus!) and he explained everything well even though it's not my first ink. Like previous reviews, the shop is medical clinic clean, bright and professional. The staff is friendly, there's no upsell pressure or cooler-than-you attitude, plus there's a nice selection of jewelry on display at reasonable cost.
Micah was professional, friendly and did a beautiful job. He took about 45 mins and I paid $100 and maybe lost two tiny drops of blood. I will be back to add color soon, again seeing Micah. The black looks gorgeous, ink was laid down smoothly and I keep it moisturized properly. Please consider how the tattoo quality really depends on the aftercare, so people complaining about scabbing/etc probably didn't give their ink the proper aftercare of cleaning gently and keeping it moisturized properly. With as popular and professional as this shop is, I can't imagine they'd have an inexperienced or shoody artist on staff. If so, name names! Micah is my man, take a look at his portfolio as he's got great freehand style. Tip your artists, people! They have to split the fee with the shop, so every penny counts.

I got my first tattoo done here (text along my right forearm in a calligraphic script).  Very clean place and lots of talented artists.  They are foremost a piercing studio, but their tattoo service is still top notch.  I came in on the evening of New Year's Eve without an appointment and still was handled with respect and attention.  Although I'm getting my next tattoo done at another studio (I wanted custom work, decided on another local artist) I would still highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for ink work.

Love this place, love the staff, love everything about it.  All my ink comes from Sacred Heart, and there's a reason why: their attention to cleanliness.  Seriously, it smells like a doctor's office when you walk in the door.  All their equipment is autoclaved, sealed and opened right in front of you.  And the fact that they've been around forever (heck, they sponsor an art car every year!) inspires confidence that they're doing something right, and they're doing it well.

The staff is super nice--I first stopped in as a timid and conservative 19 year old and I never felt judged or unwelcome.  The decor is funky and inviting, and the fact that it's in an old house makes it feel a bit more comfortable.  The artists are really approachable, and all of them have portfolios you can page through as you're deciding which one to choose. I've had custom work done every time, so prices are going to depend on what you end up getting--however, the last time I was in there's a $40 minimum, which is about par for the course when it comes to shop prices.

Parking blows--there pretty much is none, but considering you're going to get something on your body that's going to last forever, you should probably make the sacrifice and walk a few yards.  And the work?  Is going to be awesome.

This is my first time going to Sacred Heart Studio for a tattoo (3rd total).  I chose this place in Houston because it had gotten the most positive reviews when googled.  My other two tattoos I got in Austin.

Overall I had a really great experience here.  The studio is in a bright pink house on Westheimer..and rather tough to find parking.  You can park in the small driveway in the back or in the neighborhoods.

When I first walked in..my first reaction was...this place is huge and smells really sterile.  A great sign for any tattoo/piercing parlor is that it feels clean.  The piercing area is blocked off in a separate area and blinds can be drawn for privacy.  Tattooing is done in the artist's nooks and crannies.

My friend and I both had our tattoos done by Micah.  Even though we both have had tattoos done in the past, Micah was awesome.  He explained to us all the details, was real friendly and nice.  He showed us when the equipment and needles were sterilized and gives one greater peace of mind.  Of course he did a great job and I am pleased by the minimal amount of pain inflicted and the great look of the tattoo.

They take credit card but you cannot leave tips when paying by credit card (owner's policies) so make sure you bring cash for tips!
