This is my favorite shop in Austin! It doesn't look fancy when you drive by, but the inside is clean and awesome. I've been tattooed by both Cla and Drew and love the work I've had done! They are the brightest, boldest tattoos I have. I get compliments on them all the time and have handed out their cards to so many people I've had to restock my supply! If you're looking for a quality tattoo from artists who don't just tattoo flash off of the wall but are true artists who care about giving people unique works of art I suggest checking out Amillion.
Review Source:I got tattooed here by drew several years ago. I still love my piece! He did a wonderful job and it looks exactly like I pictured. Stellar work.
The other day I decided it was time to work up the courage and finally get the body piercing I've been wanting for years. I asked around, and to my delight I was sent to Jill at amillion. She was so friendly, talked me through every little thing before we ever got started, explained every step, aftercare, and anything else you can imagine. Everything was clean and freshly opened and she changed gloves so many times I felt safe lol. It hurt like hell but I managed pretty well and I believe that has something to do with Jill. Thanks so much! If anyone is looking for tattoo or piercing work this is where I will sent them.
DREW COTTOM!
Amillion found me on instagram (follow them, amazing- amilliontattoo) and it was at a perfect time because I was already thinking about getting some tattoo work done. He was awesome about the whole thing, prior to him tattooing me I only had one small wrist tattoo. He sent me a picture of exactly what I wanted and it was actually more than I expected... 6 tattoos later and I am still itching to see him. I get compliments about how the color just pops and have referred plenty of friends to see him and now HE is THEIR only dude they see to get tattooed. I have also deemed him my only tattoo artist. I trust him so much that I even let him surprise me and just tattoo me with something he's been wanting to tattoo and he did not upset. I can't even tell you which of my tattoos I love the most because I love them all the same.
Thanks again, Drew! I'll be in to see you soon!
I had a great experience here. I heard of this place from a friend, and I looked at each artist portfolio to see witch one I liked the best Karina work a lot. This was my first time ever getting a tattoo and she worked really well with me. I sent her a pic of what I wanted and she just added its own little spunk to it that I just loved. I couldn't have picked a better artist. She is going to be my go I tattooer from now on. All the other staff is very friendly as well. It was a very great environment and clean as well. Couldn't have been any happier with my choice.
Review Source:Funny how things work out. Â I spent months researching tattoo designs, trying to find a style that would be right for me. Â I had handpicked several designs by Karina Figueroa, and I was so excited to find out that she had recently moved to Austin from Portland! Â Lucky me!! Â I sent Karina an e-mail, and it was on. Â During our consultation, I was all over the place with my ideas. Â I knew what I wanted to convey, but I'm just not very creative. Â Somehow Karina read my thoughts, and translated them into something I absolutely love! Â Sitting with Karina for three hours was a pleasure... she's such a warm person with lots of great energy. Â I'm already planning my next!
Review Source:I went in while researching the best place to work on my large potentially expensive idea. All across my back. The main "theme" here was jewelry of all sorts. I wanted a custom design with what I had in mind. No one greeted us. They did not have a portfolio to review. Fairly clean. Rude staff. Told me to look on the wall and see what's there. We walked out. I found a much cleaner friendlier rocking artist at Littleprickstattoo. Go there
Review Source:I came here after being referred by a friend, didn't really have an artist in mind, but I got extremely lucky. Â Karina Figueroa ended up being available and MAN, like I said, did I get lucky. Â She was extremely nice even though I wanted something quite simple. Â She worked with me and gave me great advice on placement, color etc... Â I couldn't be happier. Â I'll now being going back for my 3rd session with her to finish up my inner arm. I'm still contemplating a sleeve on my left arm and if I do it, Karina will be my go-to artist. Â I highly recommend her and this shop. Â A++ for Amillion!!
Review Source:Erik Axel has done 4 of my 6 tattoos. I absolutely love his work and have had multiple compliments on my tats. Will use Erik for all of my future inking. He is an easy going guy, very clean and puts you at ease while being worked on. He has a light hand and is very precise and quick. Not bad to look at either!
Review Source:Word of mouth is the best way to find a tattoo artist, in my opinion. A friend recommended Erik Axel for me to go see about getting my next piece. So I checked out his portfolio and website then did just that. I went in with an idea for a japanese style half sleeve and Erik was as excited as I was, if not more excited.
After our first meeting, Erik took a few days to draw up a sketch before I came back in to see the sketch and set up an appointment. He was willing to work with me on the appointment time by coming in on his off day, after I was turned away from other shops in Austin who wouldn't schedule long appointments on the weekend.
For my first sitting Erik explained to me that by just doing the outline and allowing it to heal, then adding the shading, and adding the colour in a third sitting I would end up with the best tattoo possible. After three sittings I had just that, a most amazing tattoo. I've always heard not to get a tattoo from an artist unwilling to do touch-up work free of charge, but Erik took it to the next level. Erik asked me to come back several weeks later so he could make sure it healed properly.
Erik Axel is a continual student of the art of tattooing. He understands how to juxtapose contrasting colours to create amazing effects and refuses to do subpar work. My wife and I have both been tattooed by Erik and could not be happier with our tattoos. Erik has done great work in both traditional Japanese and traditional American styles for us. We moved away from Austin but continue to make the drive to get all of our tattoo work from Erik Axel Brunt.
The shop is also a great place to be. It is always clean and full of friendly and professional artists. I could not possibly recommend Amillion Tattoos or Erik Axel more. If you are thinking about getting a tattoo definitely go here and talk to Erik.
Drew Cotttom is awesome! A good friend of mine recommended him to me. I walked in today with only a vague idea in my head of what I wanted for my tattoo. He promptly took what I described and drew up a great sketch. I went ahead and got the tattoo as I was lucky enough to come in when he was free. The tattoo work is phenomenal! I cannot stop staring at my forearm! I love it! I've had several other tattoos over the years but I have now found MY ARTIST. I'm already planning for another work of art by DC!
Review Source:I came to Amillion after finding some of Drew Cottoms work online. He is an amazing artist and I love his style. His original work is some of the sickest stuff I've seen.
The shop was very clean and the staff was friendly.
Drew is a really rad guy and we chatted about Star Wars and Disney while he worked. I am completely stoked on my new tattoo. The colors are unbelievably vivid and the linework is perfect.
I will be back to get more work done by Drew FOR SURE.
Awesome tattoo experience!
We stopped by here on a weekend and the people who were in charge of the "jewelry booth" had BOTH gone to Starbucks. Â I kind of could not understand that but the one good thing was they asked for our phone number so they could call us after we had left to see if they could help us with maybe what we were looking for ....... but then NEVER called us back. Â One good thing about this place was that they seemed to carry a lot of the "wood , hardcore" jewelry , and "tribal" looking jewelry , and also seemed to know how to market their items because they were all polished very nicely and set up in categories that were easy on the eyes for viewing.
Review Source:Olivia is amazing! I went in for my fourth tattoo, and she is the best artist I have been to. She wanted to wait on an intricate tattoo I wanted, to sped time to make it as beautiful/perfect as possible. We decided on an alternate quote, which she made beautiful script for and found the perfect placement on my ribs. I will return for my other tattoo and I would recommend her to any of my friends looking for a tat in Austin.
Review Source:This is yet another review for Jill, the piercer at AMillion Tattoo.
My wife & I got our ears pierced there three months ago. Â It was the first piercings for both of us. Â Jill did a superb job. Â She is extremely professional and thorough: she sterilized the hardware (ear studs) for 10+ minutes in a steamer. Â She changed gloves multiple times during the process, basically every time she touches something that presents risk of contamination. Â She provided us with ample information on after-care of the piercings, as well as her email address and phone number, in case we need further info.
Additionally, three-plus months later, when I accidentally pulled one of my ear studs out (caught in a T-shirt being taken off), I came in and she re-inserted the stud free of cost.
We highly recommend Jill for your next piercing.
I went in with a family friend who wanted an ankle tattoo, only to be greeted quite coldly and without an ounce of excitement about her wanting a tattoo. It had an aura of "blah." Â I won't be returning nor will I recommend this place. I cannot however speak to the quality of the work.
Review Source:I had a rook piercing that was constantly irritated and just not worth the trouble any more. I didn't want to drive downtown to the place I got it pierced to have them remove it so I trusted the good and numerous Yelp reviews and came here. Jill was super cool and took out the piercing for a very small fee. It was as good of an experiencing as possible for having a too-tight barbell unscrewed from my swollen ear. I'll probably never get another piercing or a tattoo because I'm a total wimp but I'd recommend Amillion to friends who are so inclined.
Review Source:I was referred to Amillion by a friend who got an amazing tattoo of a peacock on her back by Nate.. Â When I went to their website I looked through all of the artist's galleries and although I really like Nate's work, I was drawn to Erik Axel's work. Â He loves asian art and major detail.... I had spoken to many artists about what I wanted and none of them got excited about what I wanted until I spoke to Erik......He was excited, comfortable, engaged, and super professional. Â A true gentleman! Especially because I was coming in with an existing rinky dink wrist tattoo that looked like a temp from Claires boutique:/.....no judgement there. Â Within a week, he sent me a drawing of the first of the 3 tattoos in my plan, it was perfect. Â I had my appointment in 3 weeks, and Erik far surpassed my expectations. Â I have yet to see any other tattoo with the amazing detail and color, and his company wasnt shabby either...;) Â Especially after sitting with him for almost 8 hours. Â As far as the business goes, very professional and clean! Â Every appointment I have with Erik is fun and entertaining!
Amillion is awesome, and Erik is even more so!
Thanks Erik!
There are a plethora of tattoo shops in Austin and they all have their pros and cons. Search hard enough and you'll find a shop to suit your tastes. If you're looking for a shop to provide you with a quality piece of artwork that you'll enjoy for the rest of your life, then you need to go to Amillion.
Shane Watkins at Amillion came recommended to me by a friend. After sitting for probably 6-8 different sessions over the last year I can say that I will never go anywhere else for my work. His work is amazing and unique to each client. Nothing is ever duplicated, even if it's something that you think everyone else has. He'll find a way to make it "yours."
The shop is clean and well maintained. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The other artists, Nate and Eric, that I've had interaction with are also more than capable of doing great work. You can't go wrong with having any of them complete your masterpiece. Plus, all of them are funny as hell and will have you enjoying your time no matter how painful it may get.
I have been getting tattooed at amillion for years (I have 13 only one not done here). I recently in the last week have had two tattoos done that both turned out beautifully. Go to Drew- he will make you laugh, put you at ease, and give you exactly what you want. Even if you came in with an idea in mind, he will work through it with you to give you something 100 times better, but still follow what you want. I scheduled an appt with my second tattoo as it was going to be bigger, he came in on his day off to do work on me, which says alot about an artist. He texted me a pic of what he drew up and I let him pick the colors. I couldnt have been happier. His script work is amazing as well. I wanted a boring old font for my shoulder tat, and he drew something up in a jiffy that I have been getting compliments on DAILY since I got it. Highly recommend, definitely with Drew too.
Review Source:Got a tattoo from Drew this evening. Let me say: This man is AMAZING!!! I brought him a really difficult tattoo (all circles, basically) and he owned it. I could not be more pleased. Everyone else in the shop does amazing work too! They're all super friendly and accommodating. I will be going back to Drew from now on!
Review Source:Need some awesome artwork? Go see Nate.
Need a professionally done tattoo? Go see Nate.
Want to laugh your ass off while being put through three hours of pain? Go see Nate.
It seems my tattoo stories always start with the Groupon. Well, this one is no different. I bought my $200 Groupon for $85 and was ready to go. I looked online for some ideas, saved what I liked and contacted Nate to get started. He asked me to email him my ideas and he would draw it up. I went in to talk to him and the appointment was set. He texted me a drawing the day of and I loved it. Unfortunately I also had the stomach flu so I cancelled on him at the last minute. He was totally cool about it and we rescheduled for Tues.
I brought some friends with me for moral support and boy am I glad I did. The tattoo took three hours and I was sure I would never survive the third one. Nate and my friends kept cracking me up and it worked to distract me. At the end of the 3 hours, Nate said we (I) needed to stop and I could come in next week for the color. He said it would take less than 15 minutes and he wouldn't charge me for it. I did pay an extra $125 on top of the Groupon, but it was well worth it.
So I go back Tues for color and my friend will be getting hers the same day. I am looking forward to the finished product and will update my review when done.
I had the most amazing experience here with artist Jason Masarik. I went with a Groupon (which is a strange way to build a tattoo artist relationship), but I had researched artist portfolios to find one that could do the artwork I wanted. I waited until the last minute, and Jason was still gracious in getting me in with time to spare. Once we started talking about the time he realized we would need more time, and set an appointment to do the artwork and start the tattoo.
When I arrived I had to wait awhile, and many people greeted me and offered assistance, and were very friendly. When Jason was ready, we sat down and talked about the design elements, and began piecing together the work, which started out as just a jumbled mess of ideas. He patiently spent over 3 hours drawing and getting the design exactly, meticulously right, checking elements with me and working it out together, to come up with the most beautiful piece that exactly conveyed the feeling and look that I wanted, but didn't know how to express. It was a really collaborative process, and I'm still amazed at how beautiful it is. He then spent the time to get the outline done that night (even though it was late), and I can't wait to go back and get the color done to see the finished product.
Jason (and the other artists) were delightful and welcoming, no one made me feel funny about the Groupon or my disjointed, but very personal ideas for the tattoo, and the whole experience was very positive. Jason did amazing work with this piece, and I'm thinking about another piece that I think he would do an amazing job with. I highly recommend both Jason and Amillion.
I've been wanting to get a tattoo of a reset button for a long while. Long story, but it was something I felt I had truly earned by the end of the year. My friend suggested Jesse at A Million Tattoos and while I was at first hesitant because his style is so retro awesome and here I am wanting a reset button.
I am so GLAD I went to Jesse. Not only did he tell me he enjoyed subjects that aren't traditional and marrying it to his style, but he did an AMAZING job. Something that could've been just a small button on my back turned into an amazing, feminine design that really celebrates the concept. I was shocked at how fast he was able to complete the tattoo. I remember he started shading and next thing I knew he was done.
Jesse put up with my silence as I tried to channel the pain (I'm a bit of a wuss--but not that much as I made it!) which was standard tattoo on your spine pain. He also listened patiently to my chatty husband who went on and on and on about the different tattoo ideas he has even though he hasn't been inked yet. Really nice guy and a great artist. The shading on my tattoo is gorgeous and I am a happy woman. I uploaded a photo of the tattoo for everyone to see. Thanks again Jesse!!
I've been wanting to get a nose piercing for like 10 years. Remember... back when it was cool? So I finally did it one steamy night after having a couple of drinks and a lot of egging on.
Jill was super professional, very educational. The place was clean, sterile and that needle went in and out with minimal pain. Four weeks later the thing is going strong - no infection (cross fingers) and it's adorable, if dated.
I dont know anything about tattoos -- other than my BF has a million, much to the dismay of my mother -- but for piercing, this is a solid place.
I've been to amillion a few times...my first time was when I went in on a whim and got my monroe pierced.....Jill did it and she did it perfectly. She has also pierced my tragus, which I ended up having to take out, but to no fault of hers :)
I have also had the pleasure of having Austin tattoo me. He is awesome. He is very talented and AMAZING at script. He did my stomach from hip to hip in about an hr...if that. He also did a friends ribs...came out amazing! Still working on color...and hes done script on my husbands chest, again awesome! I would highly recommend him for script, or anything else. :)
This place was highly recommended by a friend's piercing artist in SF. Jill did my piercing, and she was great. She was nice, relaxed, and I felt totally at ease the whole time. She custom-fitted the jewelry to me, then sterilized everything to be used in the procedure in front of me. Fast, neat, and super clean. I'll definitely be going back.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I went in one sat night to get his tat reworked. We had been quoted outrageous prices elsewhere but they were so reasonable here. I was originally supposed to get a piercing, but i chickened out. But anyways, the tattoo guy, I forgot his name, but he was so kool and nice and dedicated to getting the tat just right. He spent like 10 minutes mixing colors to get the perfect shade of UT burnt orange. And he re-applied the stencil a couple times until we were all perfectly sure it was centered.
Overall, he was great, the tat's great, shop's super clean. So go get tatted up.
My artist's name was Cheryl and it seemed like she hadn't be inking people for very long. I already at this star on my right foot and I wanted to get the same one on the left foot. After tracing the star and placing the stencil on my left foot, everything looked fine. When it came to actually tattooing the star on my foot, it didn't look similar to the stencil she started with.
I had her rotate the star stencil because it wasn't aligned like my other one. After she reapplied the stencil, only half of it was marked on my foot. I asked her if she would be able to see where the lines are on the bottom half of the star and she said it would be no problem. I'm getting a  bit nervous at this point but I decided to trust her...BAD IDEA!
So I end up with a mis-shaped star that happens to be permanent. Perfect.
I don't know about the other artists there but this is just a heads up for anyone who gets Cheryl. Use her at your own risk!
