Been here twice now. Great shop with decent rates, laid back atmosphere. My only complaint is the parking lot is small. My girlfriend and I came in on Tuesday for some quick flash while we waited for the paint in our house to dry. Black sabbath on the stereo on repeat. Will definitely be going back again, probably for some larger work!
Review Source:Ramsie is really super. The folks are nice here once they can tell you're not a jerk. The place is clean and the hospitality is what it needs to be. Expectations met.
I walked in out of the blue on a Friday afternoon with an idea to incorporate my kids' names (all 6 of them) with an acoustic guitar (my lifelong instrument). After knocking around a couple possibilities, Ramsie cranked out a way cool design and put me in the chair.
I don't think I'm your "typical" tattoo customer (I'm a pastor), but once they could tell I wasn't there to sell them religion the suspicious looks stopped.
Final product exceeded expectations. Not sure when they get busy (or if they get cranky) but I can recommend an afternoon excursion.
And ask for Ramsie!
Came in here as a walk-in this afternoon. Cory was very helpful and patient (it was a memorial tattoo and I might not have been as laid-back as I could have been), and ready to make suggestions while completely respecting the parameters I specified. He was pleasant during the process and made sure I knew my aftercare, and was nice enough to take a quick snap with my cameraphone. The tattoo is brand new, sore and swollen as to be expected, but it was an overwhelmingly positive experience, definitely got nothing but good things to say.
Review Source:My girlfriend and I came in last night for Friday the 13th tattoos. Â The wait was originally quoted as 45 minutes to an hour but we waited two hours which is the reason for the four stars. Â We were very close to leaving when we were finally called. Â Clearly you are not expecting much out of a $20 Friday the 13th tattoo, but Corey did a really good job on my black sheep. Â In addition to doing really good work, he was a nice, down to earth guy. Â My girlfriend was not as happy with her tattoo but I think it will grow on her. Â I'm not sure of the work they do on bigger pieces so you should consider looking at portfolios before heading in. Â But in terms of being a stand up dude who does good work Corey gets my vote.
Review Source:We went into this place out of curiosity on two seperate occasions while we were waiting on getting our car and motorcycle inspected next door, instead of sitting on a picnic table in 108 degree mid-summer weather. Â We were later told that many people do the same thing. Â They were very nice both times, even though we were just asking questions and looking through their portfolios, obviously not likely customers. Â
One day last week, Anastacia mentioned that she wanted her first tattoo sometime soon. Â I immediately recalled seeing really nicely designed flyers at the shop and at La Chica Tienda on Anderson Ln. advertising "$20 Name Day Monday". Â Five minutes later we decided what we wanted and where and were in the car on the way to get our first tattoos. Â
Ramsey and Scott immediately started drawing them out when we got there. Â I got "Oly," my cats name above my elbow and she got "Peanut, Olive," her pups, on her ribs. Â The perfect solution for first tattoos -- Getting something ridiculous instead of waiting to create the perfect, most meaningful tattoo in the world. Â We are already planning on going back next monday! Â Simple script, but very well executed. Â we are both very happy. Â They were very nice and talkative, as well, and had some great stories. Â Surprised that this is only the second review here.
I have seen a lot of work come out of this place recently... really good stuff! Â I have watched this dude get his arm done by one of the artists; I believe he said his name was Zach. Â In any case, I was very impressed with the artisan-ship and am highly considering having work done there myself. pricing is pretty solid too-well played Austin Tattoo Co.
